This hub is OK for displays, but if you need over 1 GBS Ethernet, it will not pass over 1 GBS through a 2023 MacBook Pro M3. The dock does require a driver. Their driver is dated 2020 and appears to be out of date.

The ethernet port is rated at 2.5Gbps which would mean it can handle speeds higher than 1Gbps. There wasn't any driver I had to install. The OS just asked for permissions and it was up and running. I'm not sure if you're experiencing the same dock as in the video.

Can you daisy chain another thunderbolt 3 dock into this one for the purpose of expanding the USB peripherals? Not interested in the extra displays just extra thunderbolt and USB along with adequate power to those ports. Also will all the second docks ports work?

No, daisy chaining wont work. It needs a specific protocol and I haven't seen a dock yet that supports that.

@@TaylorBrauer🤔 hmm, Well I do it with my Anker 577 already. The problem tho is the power isn't sufficient and my Internal hardrive on my MPC keyboard won't mount , and I need a few more USB inputs. Thanks for the reply!

Awesome overview - thank you. Does this doc require using any other software or anything? Or is it 100% plug and play?

Yw! No additional software or drivers are required. You'll get prompted to allow the dock to connect via MacOS's permissions. After that it's good to go.

Have you tried to connect your 4k 240hz display with the 6k thunderbolt port using a display port to usb c cable? I have two 4k 240hz displays and 1 1440p 175hz. Been thinking about picking this up. Just want to make sure I get at least 120hz across all 3 for mac use.

I have tried and it maxes at 4K 120Hz. The Macs don't support DSC over USB-C. It appears only the M2 and beyond Macs support DSC over HDMI 2.1 which would mean a direct connection to the Mac itself and not the dock to achieve 4k 240hz
