Beautifully filmed, scored, narrated and produced. The authenticity, and friendship of this man and his dog is searingly honest. It is a gift shared freely. Everyone should watch it. Thank you Max & Occy!
Which animal was your fav?? Thank you all so much for joining us on this crazy adventure!! I am currently in the very remote outback (yes even more remote) so have had to schedule this video to go live as I won't have any internet connection on Sunday. Can't wait to see your comments when I get back! In the mean time don't forget to follow me on IG at instagram.com/max_bids/ where you will see all the 'inbetween' video highlights! Love ya guts, Max & Oc 💛
Fantastic Max. I am looking forward to your next video. Living in Canada I have not seen a lot of the Australian outback. It is wonderful - even the black-headed python although I would not get that close to it. Occy trying to get the flies was funny. Stay safe and healthy!
I have to pause the video and comment. I had tears in my eyes by the time the logo showed up. U have a serious grasp on the art of filmmaking. The music, the shots you set to the music, where and when and who and what. All of it is so inspiring and pierces straight through anything else going on. My thoughts today were chaotic and jumbled as I am frantically up against many major deadlines. And then I hit play here and I was yanked across the globe into a beautiful place, surrounded by awe-inspiring sounds. You have a gift Max, truly. 💞 thank you for continuing to inspire us all
Knowing that you'll probably never see this comment so long after an upload, but I just needed to say this...The soaring music, the suns rays, the sweeping vistas, the desolation & the beauty. You've captured it all. Thanx for having us all along for the journey.
One word... WOW! this has to be at the top of your list of awesome videos. You and Occy are amazing what a team! Thank you for taking us along on this fantastic adventure.
i was treated to a 25mins of a love story between a man, his dog, his van that he built himself and his country ❤️max and occy, i could say that you are my favorite influencer in youtube. honest, authentic, and you 2 inspire me to live a little bit outside the box that i have forever enclosed myself in.
I absolutely agree, Robin! And for us who have never been to Australia, and not living in a place with such an amazing nature and wildlife, these videos also gives us a view of nature, that you only see on high-end and very professional nature channels. But this channel has something more; a raw, and personal story. Sorry, my lack of English skills doesn't allow me to say it a lot better.
I know you've said that filming alone is challenging, but seriously Max, this is the best video you've ever done!! I'm so stoked to see where the outback brings you next. Just WOW!
As a fellow Aussie and a senior one, it is absolutely glorious to see our outback green. Every time I've gone across our continent it's never been green. Absolutely beautiful and awesome filming
I must say the music you picked for this video just took an already amazing video to the next level!! Well done Max!! Eagerly awaiting the next update from here in Nova Scotia, Canada🇨🇦
I am not knowledgeable on Australian snakes but this does not look like a python, it looks more a like a tiger snake. But you have got experts to confirm it is. Stay safe. And give Occy a hug for us.
Wow! A wild black headed python (Aspidites melanocephalus) - that is cool AND scary!! Never been to Australia, but what a HUGE, amazing and diverse island/continent! Wow!
Thank you for protecting Occy with the leash from the snakes, and thank you for all the very hard Push-ups you are doing to raise money. Hug and much love.
I’m amazed! Max this is incredible. Thank you for showing the world apart of Australia that I may never get to see in my life time. I’m just in awe. It almost brings me to tears how gorgeous this video is. I send all the love and support from Texas! Give Occy a few head scratches from Me! Take care and enjoy your week! Be safe!
My wife, Grace, and I were surfing van life travel channels and saw a great video that you, Lee and Occy did. Really enjoyed it. I was looking at van life travel videos again and came across the video announcing that Lee had passed. I was shocked. And then I saw the special one you did on depression. I too had gone through a very dark period of life many years ago but happened to pick up a Bible and read it cover to cover. That started me on a different journey that, strange as it seems, took me to some really depressing places in the world ( slums, dumps and refugee camps) but in those places I found happiness. I met people there that had lost everything I had and more and they were still alive and could laugh. I was there to help them but they cured me. I'm sorry for your loss. It was a history of similar losses that created that dark chapter in my life. I'm 64 Max and there have been both good and bad chapters in my life and the book isn't fully written yet. I loved the ending of that video you did on Lee and her battle with depression. I could watch the ending over and over again. It's the best video I've seen that you've done so far. I hope that you are doing well and are getting stronger and better every day. I think it is great to have Occy too. What a great dog and companion. Thank you so much for the content and being an inspiration. . . and to both you and Lee for being so honest with the youtube world.
I lived in a remote town in Qld called Richmond! I lived there for about 18mths & it was such an amazing experience! I was working for a bank. My bfs family station was amazing! 60,000 acres & it was about 30mins out of Julia Creek!
Next level film/video editing; music selection; photographic lighting / perspectives in keeping w/ t/ storytelling. You're really hitting your stride w/ this content Max. On a lesser note, not sure if I'm more impressed w/ your ability to ignore the flies or fly a drone while driving and sliding around a muddy road. Well done!
I watched a video about Australias population, I had no idea that you only have 26 milj people who mostly live on the coasts and that 95% of Australia is empty. Thanks for the video, its beautiful.
I can't get over how green it is! I have only ever seen it as a huge dust bowl, burnt by the sun. Thanks for making this beautiful video of such a rare event. The flora is amazing and the animals flourishing with the amount of food around. Those camels looked so healthy, we might have a few more shieks coming over to buy more breeding stock! That python was gorgeous, he looked fat too, I expect the mouse population has exploded out there. Give Occy a hug he's so gorgeous and loving ❤.
Simply MAJESTIC. Having Australia as canvas makes it a lot easier though. Just a matter if time to see Grizzly&Bear,The.Outfit and T.O.D.U gathering up. ¡¡Pura Vida!!
As a person who recently discovered your channel and binge-watched many of your videos, I need to say that you have grown so much as a videographer and narrator. The landscape, the music, the doggy :) all that gives me calmness and joy 💜
Hi Max, what a beautiful first episode, cinematography is epic, our country is incredible, how’s your timing with the rain, you will see everything flourishing. A great way to end My Sunday, Thank you, you and Occy are quite the duo.
Occy laying beside while you do push ups was the cutest!! He's so cool!! Snake 🐍 was cool but they scare me 😆 🤣 😂!! Beautiful scenery stay safe!! Paws up!!🐾

The beauty of the territory is amazing, but also a bit overwhelming for my reality. Thank you, Max, for taking us with you & for sharing these amazing experiences. I’ve followed you for a number of years and you’ve expanded my knowledge, my perceptions, and my pleasures. Love that Occy. ☺️
Camels following the drone and the drone capturing the van sliding on the muddy road were the highlights of this video...Looking forward to the next one.
Wow Max!!!! I've been following for years and this is one of my favourite videos so far. It's amazing that you can produce such top quality content all by yourself (with Occy's emotional support). The shots of the camels were my favourite moment.
What a breathtaking short film… soundtrack and all (sigh)… and THANK YOU for bringing us along to this new and awe inspiring Australia❣️The beautiful black- headed python and the unexpected sight of a never-imagined flourishing-outback, are the signs-posts for a fortuitous journey ahead💞 All-Terrein tires may not (yet) be in the cards for you and Occ, but the ones your van currently sports will take you at the right pace across this sacred passage. Lots of love to you and Occy! Can’t wait to see what’s next! 🐾💖🐾
I love Occy so much. His coloring is simply the best, and he seems like such a sweet dog. His snooze and stretch while you worked hard on your push-ups was adorable. This video and all your drone footage was amazing. Enjoyed it immensely.
You were lucky to see a snake at the beginning of your journey. Snakes represent ease & graceful travels over any terrain. They also represent transformative healing and the soul’s journey towards self realisation ❤️✨
WOW! What a wonderful cause! I cannot wait until I am able to help support charitable efforts monetarily. However, I do volunteer regularly and it is indescribably fulfilling. So glad you have been posting more often. You have a very beautiful soul that needs to be shared with the world. I absolutely love your ability to be vulnerable and your willingness to communicate your personal mental health journey. I watch quite a few channels and I would venture to say 75% of them only share positive moments. Its easy to aspire for a life full of adventure and the ability to participate in experiences that have intrinsic value....but to inspire your subscribers to become better humans really separates your channel.
Добрый вечер. Привет из России. Случайно попала на ваш канал. Отличные видео. Подписалась. Мы тоже любим путешествовать на автомобиле с палатками. Удачных вам путешествий.
I just recently found you on you tube and I'm excited to see Australia through your eyes. Occy is such a beautiful animal! I have gone back to see some of your older videos, your journey has not been easy, I really feel for you. I live in Santa Cruz California and look forward to more.Thank You!
Thank you for sharing your life with Occy. I look forward to the postings cuz it’s like we are living vicariously through your experiences. You break a lot of molds and in many ways show us a different perspective of what is and not what things should be. I appreciate that. Occy is an awesome companion. He is almost human!
Wow everything is so lush, once in a lifetime stuff! When you were by the fire and turned your head lamp off I was imagining the amount of stars you probably saw. Ps The effort you put into your videos is outstanding. They are like little movies!
Loved this video .It's Good to you & Occy as you explore Australia 🇦🇺 outback terrain. Also good to be especially careful for those huge 🐍 snakes & keeping Occy safe.Max your so brave to take on this trip solo. Its understanding to Reset & get into a daily routine. The landscape is very Beautiful. How delightful to have the special comforts at that campsite.Australias outback is very interesting some barren patches & then green areas and lots of rainfall.Amazing to see Camels.I truly Enjoyed this video.Blessings & Be Safe with Occy.Amen! 🙏❤🙏🤗
So beautifully filmed, you’ve really captured not only the rugged beauty of the outback but the true essence of Australia. You are always so raw and authentic. Thank you!
This is amazing footage. We're so blessed to be able to see the Outback in this rare green condition. Thanks so much for bringing us along. Mind blown is exactly how I feel. I can't wait to see the next adventure!
When hiking in the bush look behind you regularly and place landmarks, ie stumps, unusual rock formations. Even leave piles of twigs, leaves or stones as a guide on the return journey to avoid getting lost.
Had no idea Australia had wild camels. Can’t believe everything is so green! Occy looks so content lying on the table in the back of the van! Safe travels Max and Occy!
Afghani people brought the camels to Australia in the 1800’s, because the climate in remote deserts suited camels, better than horses. Exploration , Building railways, delivering goods etc.
Brilliant & breath taking. Incredible how green it is. Motorcycle rode from Victoria right through the guts to Uluṟu. The outback is surreal. I experienced the most awesome serenity & sunsets. Nothing has compared since.
WOW is an understatement! Your beautiful cinematography and music made me feel like I was right there with you both. Thank you for the momentary respite from the heaviness in our world.
I lived in Australia from 89 to 91 and then again for the years of 1998 and 1999, in the outback and this video made me miss it so much! I made lots of friends and still have them to this day due to modern technology, lol and this video was just so heartwarming for me! I love living in the outback!
WOW, that was amazing!!!!!! Please make more videos likes these. Australia is such a a majestic country and so happy to call it home. Hopefully next year i can make the shift to van life.
Exceptional videography, editing and music selection. Thanks for taking us along on your journey to a place most of us will never see first hand. Stay safe.
First time viewer here, your video popped up in my recommended section and after 4 minutes in i was hooked. The filming, editing, and the beautiful nature is amazing. You and Occy have a great channel, ive subscribed and look forward to future adventures. Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
I see Occy is catching quite a few sky raisins. (flies) How you manage to navigate. And drive. And fly your drone is amazing. So in awe. The music is stunning. Keep pushing (up).
In the early 1980's there was a movie, "The Earthling" with William Holden and Ricky Schroeder...it put the outback on my bucket list, thank you so much for this new adventure, as I know I won't be able to get there anytime soon!
WOW!!! The last time I left Australia I cried, feeling I'd never see it again .. this series is filling my heart in so many ways Max thank you so much!!!! Beautiful, Ancient and real adventure ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Looks like this adventurer needs his all weather tires. This is a first class production. Support if possible. Music is adding so much. Thanks so much. Blessings
Good morning! What a stunning video! I’ve always wanted to visit Australia, I look forward to seeing things through your lens.Occy is seriously the cutest. Stay safe
Yesss. Thankyou for advocating dogs on leashes. As a wildlife carer I feel like I get so tired of trying to explain the importance of leashes to dog owners. ❤️ Our wildlife thank you
Beautiful Max, just loved the opening footage and music, your gift for story telling is growing and growing. Editing was great, such a good video, can't wait to see more of your journey into the outback bush. Thank you and be well and happy.
I don't know if it was a recent addition or I've just never noticed it, but I absolutely love that you have the slide out patio. I've always wondered why more van lifers don't have that. And for the people that do box truck conversions, I've always thought they should get one with the hydraulic lift on the back and turn THAT into a folding back patio.
Yeah the Aspidites Melanocephalus. The Black Headed Python. They can grow from 1.5 to 2.2 meters long approximately. Cool snake. Great video Max. Thanks for taking us along.
This is one of your best video max. Just the intro with the music is incredible. The cinerary amazing and I love your story telling. Thanks a lot for sharing this part of the world. am also super happy to see you back in travelling (Lee is with us too) !!!
Oh my gosh.. this is incredible! Max, you did such a fantastic job capturing this beautiful part of the world. And on top of that, the video is a really awesome production. Thank you so much, can't wait for the next part of this series. Oh and I had a minor heart attack when I saw you wading through that puddle, what if there was a snake in there? :D
@"Max&Occy 🧒🐶in Australia - The movie". You nailed it, Max...today's episode was incredible, the breathtaking landscape, stunning animals, amazing soundtrack- oops: music...more than happy to follow along and already curious for whatever might come up next! Cheers from the other side of the globe!👩🌾
Even though the rain has caused such pain and heartbreak its amazing to see the outback so green and full of wildlife. Great job on the presentation and editing 👍kicked a goal on this one. Well done Max xx
Great video Max. That snake would have scared the bejesus out of me. What a great experience you are having seeing so much of our beautiful country. My husband and I flew to Uluṟu from Sydney 14 days ago and hired a car, drove from Uluṟu over to Alice Springs, then up to Darwin, Litchfield NP, Kakadu NP and are now in Katherine. Nitmiluk NP tomorrow then headed over to The Daintree/Cairns. We are loving the wide open spaces up here and it is so amazing how much barren land there is up here. We are definitely the lucky country. Safe travels to you both and am looking forward to Episode 2.
Oh Max, this video captured the meditative and magical beauty of nature. Your gentle voice, seeing the bond between you and Occy all infused with the music and the raw landscape reflects your creativity and vulnerability. As always thank you for reminding us to be grateful, respectful and acknowledge each moment. 💕💕💕
You did it! The challenge of getting top notch footage, alone. Congrats Max! I appreciate what it meant and the challenges you took on! Funny but it seemed Occy was competing with you on camera during the push ups! Love you two!
It’s awesome country side out there, I did a trip two years ago and was blown away. Sad to see the hut destroyed, as when I was there everything was in tacked. We got rained in where you’re parked near the river, but didn’t care it was wonderful bird life, so as a photographer kept me happy.
Ah wow - I was needing some empty Australian vibes this evening (from London) and this hit the spot - thank you! My last international trip before the world changed was a road trip in WA. SO EMPTY - coming from the UK with c. 70million, WA is ELEVEN times the size of the UK with population of c. 2.5 million. I love WA. I love empty, beautiful, scary, fascinating, awesome Australia!
oh Max, this vid is AMAZING! The music, the editing, the scenery, the wildlife. JUST UNBELIEVABLE. Thanks for this! It makes me so happy to see you living your best life Down Under. Stay Safe dude. sending love from Ontario Canada, plus a virtual treat for Occy!
Your musical choices are right on point....the videography is stunning....for those of us on the other side of the planet....it's so wonderful to see what we're missing out on over here. Thank you Max for sharing....Occy, you're a legend, SUCH a good boy!
Scenery- luscious. Photography- spectacular. Music so sets the mood. Thank you Max and Occhy for taking us along on this epic journey! Be healthy and safe.
The quality of your cinematography and audio is OUTSTANDING!!! Very evident you put a lot if hard work into your videos. You seriously deserve an award

This was a magical video with gorgeous landscapes, creatures and just the cinematography that you did was outstanding!❤️
Amazing, wonderful video!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Wow everything is so lush, once in a lifetime stuff! When you were by the fire and turned your head lamp off I was imagining the amount of stars you probably saw. Ps The effort you put into your videos is outstanding. They are like little movies!
So beautiful out here atm mate!

Thanks for joining! 💛
It’s actually the largest population of wild camels in the world! They were released into the wild after they finished building the rail lines.
It's not usually green, but most of the country has had a lot of rain the last six months or so.
The outback is stunning! 🌅 That black headed python was beautiful! Thanks, Max! 😊
Black headed pythons are beautiful.
That snake 😍 All the wildlife is amazing.
I love the ‘man & his dog in splendid solitude’ stuff. Perfect.

Mystery Road and Goldstein was brilliant. Aaron Peter makes a great grumpy copper
and I Luvvvvv Occy
Have a nice week 🐕💟
I see Occy is catching quite a few sky raisins. (flies)
How you manage to navigate.
Beautiful, Ancient and real adventure ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
wonderful coverage of the outback really enjoying it.Go steady and carefully. Occy is one lucky dog going on this amazing adventure.See you soon guys.
❤️ Our wildlife thank you
Thanks for sharing Australia love the scenery & OCCY
Beautiful Max, just loved the opening footage and music, your gift for story telling is growing and growing. Editing was great, such a good video, can't wait to see more of your journey into the outback bush. Thank you and be well and happy.
I don't know if it was a recent addition or I've just never noticed it, but I absolutely love that you have the slide out patio. I've always wondered why more van lifers don't have that. And for the people that do box truck conversions, I've always thought they should get one with the hydraulic lift on the back and turn THAT into a folding back patio.
Is not new addition: is Occy's spot😁. But I completely agree with you!
Yeah the Aspidites Melanocephalus. The Black Headed Python. They can grow from 1.5 to 2.2 meters long approximately. Cool snake. Great video Max. Thanks for taking us along.
Max, I'm 5 seconds in and I already have full body goosebumps. ❤!!!
Most epic intro (1:30) ever!
Sheeeesh!! What an opener to a video Max!! These shots have been absolutely nuts! I'm genuinely shocked by how beautiful it is
Beautiful. I've loved outback Queensland ever since my first trip to Australia. And "One Hundred Years of Dirt" is a great book.
Those sunsets were magnificent and I really love how Occy is a very calm supportive best friend.
He’s the best 💛
Max,
Dont forget about Observing for;
• Leach's
• Paranahs & Pacu (of the Parana family)
• Your Vehicle's Air-filter; Frequent Cleaning!
This is one of your best video max. Just the intro with the music is incredible. The cinerary amazing and I love your story telling. Thanks a lot for sharing this part of the world. am also super happy to see you back in travelling (Lee is with us too) !!!
Thankyou for reminding me how beautiful this country is.
Your filmography and music choices are inspirational!
I was thinking exactly the same!
Me too!
Probably not snakes but crocodile if he was further north
klkkk
The music.. I loved it. So right for the outback. Beautiful scenery, thank you for showing us whom probably never will be able to discover it.
Max, this is incredible. The footage, the music, the love between you & Occy. Pure magic. Thanks for taking us along. Love from Texas.
So keen to see you drive through the outback. The drive and scenery is amazing! It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before and you’re going to love it 😊
Oh Max, this video captured the meditative and magical beauty of nature.
Hey Occy beautiful boy - love watching you do your thing, your such a great travel mate🐾 good job keeping Dad company 😎
