Ghostlands is such a great zone. Good quest flow, good rewards, good lore, and just enough of a variety of things (undead/troll/elves) and elites to keep it interesting the entire time.
Well,i was one of the Blood Elves that did not skip this zone :p Loved it,specially since it was my first time playing WoW.Loved the part where you had to enter those catacombs and burn down the troll remains. Nothing special nowadays but when you see the zones and get into the "spooky" atmosphere for the first time, its cool.
Ten years passed to find this comment, haha. Same for me, Blood Elf Mage was one of my first WoW characters and I remember playing WotLK, doing quests in this zone, staying in Tranquillien and fighting mobs at the Black Scar. Good memories :D
it was "much fun", but now it makes us "oh, I should not play too much, I got to do that and that in real life" :( I miss those days when I was clueless about life, I was so into wow that it took best years of my childhood, but I don't regret it hahaha
I started in horde as a blood elf mage and did the whole quest line as usual. This is my favourite starter quest line. Very touching and deep one, and very rewarding one.
Ah, I totally love this music. Even though it may sound dull and boring, it has a special place in my heart. It reminds me of the many hours I spent on a sunday afternoon on my blood elf hunter, wearing spirit cloth and aimingh for the stamina cloak. It was also the first time I solo'd something. Great times
Tranquillen reputation helped make this zone wonderful, I also liked the climax of the bit at the end of the scar as it felt as though you had progressed down from the start of the scar and this was the end of the short story.
My favorite 😍 Ever since I played my bloodelf hunter back in the day I've always loved the ghost lands and finding that necklace for sylvanas and hearing her sing 💕 Just so much love! BLOODELVES all the way!
First time I came in this zone, I went to barens. It was back in wotlk when I started so everything was new to me. I do not regret doing barens with my friends since we did a quest together where you have to defend yourself against incoming centaurs like in warcraft 3. But ever since then, I've always leveled in ghostlands and it really grew on me. The zone is great, witouth a doubt.
music that starts from 9:40 - 11:40 gets me everytime. I remember hearing it for the first time when I was newb :) (I started playing during TBC so my first characters were blood elf and draenei)
There were some annoying hard quests I remember in this zone Going into the troll tomb to burn the bodies and free that blood elf prisoner, I just remember the spawn rate was annoying you would have like 3 trolls on you, who you just killed a minute ago :P Also doing Deatholme was like doing a solo dungeon. But its those moments that stick with you. very under rated zone, great feel and very haunting music to boot.:D
WAIT WHAT?! MOST BLOOD ELVES SKIP THIS ZONE TO GO TO THE BARRENS? Its the opposite for me.. most of my characters are blood elf because of the first two starting zones. :/
Love this zone all my alts even the non Belf ones leveled through here. Much better quest line and rewards than the old barrens. Only negative are the lack of Chuck Norris jokes :(.
There is probably some really simple explanation but I'm commenting because my cat walked in and sat on me right when that song started and I recognized it when I clicked your timestamp
I know this is 2 years old but I just wanted to say that from the direct files I extracted, the track this melody is from is called Shalandis Isle. Look that up and you'll probably find it.
I found it hard to level in, but I still stuck to it mainly because of the quartermaster and quest rewards. But really. Having 21 elites roam about? Dickish but still awesome
Where does the song from the last few minutes play? Never heard it in all my time playing wow. (The one with more strings, a bit more homey sounding than the rest, ends at 12 min).
Its the music you get if you swim to Shalandis Isle, There is a couple of quests there. I used to go there to fish. Its an alliance song you can only hear there in Ghostlands. I think its from the NIght Elf area not sure though an Alliance player might confirm this plz?
I stopped playing at the end of Cataclysm raid content. The only place I remember hearing this song was in Ghostland, Shalandys Isle. I never made an Alliance either so I really coudn't tell but thank you. Its not the first time WOW re-uses their music from old zones for new ones. I almost went back to play when I heard that Nagrand and Terrok had some parts of the old Burning Crusade soundtrack...Nostalgia is a very powerful tool. Thanks for pointing this to me mate! Have a nice one.

TheWolfgang72 Yep.. Sigh those old times.
Honestly❤

@jhrwekuh1 the zone definetly grows on you, after the initial shock of coming from the beautiful eversong woods fades away.
It' s nice feeling to listen to this music years after playing, everything was simple and playing coused so much fun.
decades even
it was "much fun", but now it makes us "oh, I should not play too much, I got to do that and that in real life" :( I miss those days when I was clueless about life, I was so into wow that it took best years of my childhood, but I don't regret it hahaha

Anok Suten... Man. That guy was way hard back in the day. Died like 8x before finally killing him alone on my pally.
Easier to solo on a pally than a mage! lol I had to wait for help!
I remember how it was great, back to 2007 or 2008 when BC've been released - so new and wonderful

Plus, the town even has it's own rep which you get exalted in by the time you're done questing. The rep rewards were pretty great for the level range.
Knucklerot and his buddy gave me almost a fucking heartattack. I had never seen any mob like that so.. :D
I actually skip Barrens and normally come here lol!!!
lol fucking same
10:05 Lullaby of Tyrande Whisperwind?

Favourite zone to level in.
I love this zone I have a favorite quest here it was finding a locket that belonged to a queen *sniff*
I love giving the locket back to her :'D
its was the locket of Sylvanas sister

If you were high level and found yourself in this zone you were bound to be asked if you could help with Deatholm.

I would never skip these zones just to go play in some dessert
To hell with that nonsense
I didn't know they reused the song at 10:05 in Wotlk for the Argent Tournament
That soundtrack is used in three places in WoW
Shalandis Isle in Ghostlands,
the Argent Tournament and
the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus.
GamingTV sigh and the years go by.. Such awesoke opportunity wasted into oblivion in this sad dystopian socialist world we're starting to live in..
@@hesseldraaijer7938 You think this world we're living in is "socialist"?
Try "plutocratic".
i need a time machine
Yeah, Knucklerot and Luzzran... I didn't find help so I had to kill them alone... It was hard but I enjoxed every minute of it :33
I had stayed here for a long time. Really. I didn't skip this zone. I went to undercity until I was level 20.
I enjoy TBC starting zones the most. Even after cataclysm.
I love the part starting from 09:45. It's beautiful.
Studying while listening this music, my marks will be awesome
were they?
Did you find out if they were?
Nostalgia overload!
I got revered by the time I finished this zone
@Wowmusicable I meant exalted lol. I just accidentally put revered
Blizzard forgot bloodelves !! Since WOTLK : deadscar & undeads, dar'khan and bosses....
8:38 is there a version longer than this?
nahh. having more than one race is cool, and having someone to fight is also cool, makes you want to be a great warrior. I love azeroth
I fell in in love right here ❤❤❤
a gazzilion quest and a gazzilion routes to do them, I love it
love this so epic
1:40
Love this zone all my alts even the non Belf ones leveled through here. Much better quest line and rewards than the old barrens. Only negative are the lack of Chuck Norris jokes :(.
Im glad Cata didn't touch these zones :)
Tried to find the melody on 10:00 on the burning crusade album, but couldn't find it. Anyone?

u coudl buy some cool armor and a very nice 2H weapon :P , i guess it was for lv 15 if i'm not mistake :p , good old time :)
yes, back when wow had some challenge in it. Now, they must die with a couple of hits
Where does the song from the last few minutes play? Never heard it in all my time playing wow. (The one with more strings, a bit more homey sounding than the rest, ends at 12 min).
sounds very much like a piece from the Argent Crusade Tournament in Icecrown.
