Hey Jessie just wanted to say that my elderly mother and I live in Phoenix Arizona. My mother isn't able to get out very much at all so I've been showing her you're videos of you're trips around Arizona to help her escape her room that she pretty much is confined too due to copd that allows her to take a ride and see Arizona without having to leave her bed. We're both very thankful for what you do and wanted you to know that you're making an impact on her life for the better. 🙏God bless bud and thank you.
I cant even begin to tell you how much reading this comment warmed my heart. I've reread this comment 4 or 5 times now and each time I read it, it gets deeper and deeper. Hi Jesse, Way back in 1965 I was 22 yrs old and drove my ‘64 Corvair from Pittsburgh to Southern California. Ever since then I’ve had a nostalgic fascination with Route 66! It was unusual for a young woman to make that long drive by herself. My parents were flipping out and made me promise not to speed (they knew my need for speed) and to call them every night. What an adventure that was. I specifically remember the gas/food/rest station in the first part of your clip. I’m a happy 80 yr young grandma now, and my traveling days are over, so a huge thank you for your content!! I’ve tried to retrace my journey but most of 66 is now super highway. Many blessings to you and yours at this holiday season! Kathy
Also from Pgh, owned a '64 Corvair. Never took it out of state. But years later, I drove a van to SoCal, mostly along the old Rt 66 (it was simply the most direct route).
My wife and I drove the Sidewinder from Kingman to Oatman a year ago. Only took me a day to pry my wife’s fingers from the door handle but the marks are still there. As for me, I was fine once my sphincter cramps went away a few days later. The town of Oatman was lovely though and the burros just made us smile…a very favorable memory for us.
I drove from highway 40, through Toprock, Oatman, on to Kingman in March this year. I drive a 24 foot C class. Absolutely loved the drive and had no difficulty at all. I am a 72 year old grandma from Canada.
I drove that exact road in March 2024 during my Spring-Vacation. It was one of the greatest and scenic drives i've ever made in the U.S.! Thanks for sharing this! Greetings from Germany
Hey no problem! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!! Hello germany from Arizona! hoping to make it out to germany one of these days.....I had a crush from highschool that lives there now!
Kingman to Oatman is a fantastic drive, done it several times, even in my motorhome! Awesome place, have all kinds of souvenirs, oh, check out the chocolate store at the north end of the one street town! Donkeys galore!
I used to live in Kingman too as a child. Been to Oatman during Harley Poker Run usually in April. Brings back memories. Anyone else fom that ares, Mohave county? FYI, the summer is 100°f +. Bring lots of extra water.
@@CeeatvWnder I lived in Oatman through the 90's. I believe you are referring to the Laughlin River Run, in April. Huge event in Oatman; I prepped for it for the month before. I managed the Hotel Restaurant for a few years, and also the Mission Inn, which is nothing but ashes and memories now. Was one of the gunfighters, as well. Oh, the stories I could tell...
Just for fun, there's the Clark Gable history with Oatman. He was so recognizable, he would go up to Boondocks Oatman Hotel and hang out and play poker with the smatter of old-timers. It was such a good hideout, he honeymooned there with Carole Lombard.
I took that road with my 36 class A RV, that was a challenge, we arrived at nightfall in Oatman and parked on the private parking lot located on the right when getting in to town and spent the night there. Wrecked car you asked "Thoughts?" is a 1968-72 Datsun 510. One of the best-handling sedans of its' time. Judging by how stripped it is - no interior, no engine - and the difficulty of getting parts up from that spot I suspect it was stripped for parts elsewhere, towed out there and dumped over the cliff. Probably well before the turn of the millennium as the rust-free Arizona shell (pre-crash damage) would be worth money starting around that time.
This is what I came to say...so I'll switch it up. Later the executives at Datsun wanted to change the name from Datsun to Nissan for the American market, to give it a higher-end image. On the floor the tooling and production lines had to keep on spitting out cars non stop and the production guys kept being pushed to make the name change. So everyone was called into a meeting to settle on a date for the change. After the executives gave the final date the production guys all yelled out DAT-SOON!
When the cars broke down on that road the locals just pushed it over the side because it was cheaper than getting a tow truck up there. I live at the base and have worked in oatman.
One of the best uses of the DJI mini 4 Pro usage I have seen. I have one also. All sensors were in effect. Great aerial shots. Also great narration, crystal clear. And beautiful scenery.
Thank you! I couldnt agree more, active track is pretty spot on and one of the best features on this drone! it even kept up with my car despite a light breeze. appreciate you checking out the video and thank you for those kind words! 👍
I love this Drive, I always stop at the Top at Sitgreaves Pass View Point! Walk up to the Top of the Mountain for the View and there’s a lot of memorials. Just take your time driving, sometimes you will see Burros in the Road so please be careful. I think half of the trip to Oatman is the Drive itself! But the Town is pretty Cool
I rode this road in 2003 on my Harley bike with 3 of my riding friends. My bike was having problems with the main breaker tripping. When we got to the top of the mountain it was 105°. As we started down the mountain it was getting dark and when my bike breaker would trip it would kill my lights and everything on my bike would go dead. We were told there was a motel in Oatman but when we got there it was closed We had to ride back to Kingsman. We got there about midnight. That was the scariest part of my whole 11 day trip But by the grace of God we got back to Houston alive.
We moved to Southern California from Brooklyn, New York in October of 63. I was 7 & watch videos like these to see if I remember the route. Thanks for making this.
I was going to reply about wildflowers! They are so unpredictable, but then there's an amazing carpet, especially across the plain on the East side. Like winning the lottery, you were there that day!
Cool Springs is such a cool place to stop. And a must! The original Rt. 66 is a ghost St. That pass has a little cave, you can stop and take a few pics. Oatman is a cute little town! 😆
This was a fun ride down memory lane, or what memory I still retain after 60+ years! When I was 11 yrs. old in the summer of 1960, my dad retired after 20 years in the USAF. He was station on the East Coast, where my mom’s family was from. But his family was in California, and even though he had no job and no known house to take his wife and 5 kids to, he decided he wanted to be closer to his family. So, he packed us all into his new, 2-toned, silver Chevy station wagon; the kind that had a third seat in the very back, facing the back window. and off we went. To make a very long story short, my dad dragged all of us back and forth across the U.S. six times in the next 3 years, and on every trip, the Western part of it was on Rte.66. What I remember most clearly are the shadows of the clouds on the landscape in front of us, and the long, and often lonely, road. I remember the sound of the windshield wipers slapping back and forth when it rained. And the sound of my mom or dad trying to tune in a radio station…any radio station (!), and hearing the static and sound of choppy, distant voices as my folks played with the dial. We didn’t get to stop at the sights along the way, either; dad was too anxious to get the drive over with. We kids complained constantly about traveling so much but stopping to see nothing. We would beg him to stop at anything! A little marker by the side of the road indicating that some famous outlaw had once pitched a tent there, or a fun looking hamburger joint, or even a small Native American community selling handmade items. But he rarely stopped…unless we cried we needed to use the bathroom! And, if that were the case, my dad would stop just about anywhere along the road and let my two brothers go out into the brush and pee…I swear, I think they irrigated parts of AZ! But for me and my sister, we had to wait until a gas station with a proper bathroom that mom could inspect and, if necessary clean and disinfect before we could go. I think it’s likely that is when I first knew what “Penis envy” meant! I don’t know if we were on Rte 66 yet, but I remember late one night, out in the usual middle of nowhere, as we five kids slept in the opened area of the station wagon, when dad woke us up. “Hey, kids! Look!” Rubbing our eyes and trying to see something in the pitch black night, we didn’t see a thing. He kept telling us to “Look over there!” Finally he said “Up in the sky!” And, sure enough, there was the faint, very distant white of lights in the sky, way, way off in the distance. “”That’s Chicago! Now…stop complaining that you never get to see anything!” Thanks so much for letting me see something along the way all these years later!
I absolutely loved reading your story! thank you so much for sharing! kind of reminds of the long trips me and my family took as kids. I can just imagine what it would be like being a kid stuck in a car for hours at a time and not really getting a chance to stop at the many attractions and do a little exploring....I would have pouted too. Thank you so much for sharing your stories. 🙏
Several years ago we took Route 66 into Oatman and on the way stopped at the very small town of Seligman. There we met the well known barber Angel Delgadillo at his barber/gift shop. He was so friendly and welcoming with such interesting stories of the heydays of Route 66. The drive to Oatman was enjoyable and the town has a lot to offer with the various shops and interesting with burros wandering around. We visited as the Laughlin motorcycle River Run was going on and there were Harleys galore on the roads, in Oatman and in Laughlin. These areas are worth visiting.
Back around 2018 a guy who grew up in calif. 2 doors down worked at cool springs while I was living in Bullhead city. So I took a drive down and spent a couple hours with him as people would stop by and browse and shop. So Jerry if your still around hope your doing ok. Happy Trails !
I never saw the point in follow mode until I saw this video. It really adds a lot to the experience of the Oatman road. We went there a couple of times 20 years ago and it's like another world
I never drove that part of 66 since I was always driving a semi, but I really enjoyed taking my underpowered truck off of I-40 at Seligman and back on at Kingman. Almost zero traffic and the grades were not as steep. When I started going out west, I-40 was not yet complete through Arizona. Great video! Thanks!
The last 12 miles are the best, from the Cool Springs Station to the town of Oatman!! I've heard it called the Mojave Rattlesnake!! I've ridden the road many times always on a motorcycle. It's not for the timid and I tend to avoid it after it rains when dirt washes on the road!! But the highlight is still the town of Oatman!! It had some hard times during Covid, but seems to be having a revival!! The residents are friendly and always willing to share stories about the town they love!
Back in 2010 or 2011, at one point my Daughter-in-law was softly screaming, “we’re all going to die”…my wife agreed, luckily, we didn’t! All of the most dangerous looking sections were naturally the narrowest. Very cool place…glad it’s open again…highly recommended.
You certainly picked a great day to travel. No traffic (or at least very little). I love the hairpin turns! Your videos are always so interesting. Thanks again for taking me and everyone else along.
Right! I'm glad there was little traffic, otherwise I probably wouldnt have been able to get my drone in the air and set it to follow mode. glad your enjoying the videos! got some pretty interesting ones coming up in the next couple weeks!! thanks again for tuning in Sandi!
I stopped at Cool Springs on a solo road trip through AZ, heading back to NorCal in late May of 2023. I had a memorial conversation and connection with the woman running the joint and a friend that was painting funny characters on river rocks. I hung out for awhile talking about our youth and the things we lived through in the 70/80s. Lol….I will never forget that experience. Ended up just driving through Oatman without stopping, but did see the Burros
My husband and I drove this road two years ago in our Tesla Model Y on full self drive. I was terrified of falling off the road but the Tesla drove perfectly. Met the nice lady working the store and making great tee shirts for sale. Wish I bought more shirts. Also fed the burros. We did the entire of Route 66 in Tesla FSD. Great road trip
Scariest part of Rt 66 was where it ascended/descended La Bajada Hill, just south of Santa Fe, NM. Many switchbacks on a steep dirt road, required vehicles of the day to ascend in reverse.
Stiffler graduated from the same high school i did about 6-7 years after me. I lived in Phoenix for 18 of the past 24 years. There's so much to see in AZ. Watching this makes me a bit homesick. I hope to return again soon.
What a great video. Ive always loves traveling as a child with my parents and have always loved the old western town attractions. Just such great history.
Great video! Please come back as there is so much to see on the Oatman road. The memorial garden at the top of Sitgrieves pass or the world famous fishbowl or even catfish paridise.
I definitely will! i was just reading about that fishbowl, cant believe I missed it, but its all the more reason to go back! thanks again for tuning in to the video!
Hi Jessie, just found your channel today. I can only say if your not pro yet, this channel makes you one. Your work, exploring, plus comentary , history and inspiring treks and photography are award winning. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your exploring Arizona and Rt. 66...both, I am too old to do now ..really made my day! Please, keep these explorations coming. I'm hooked...your honesty and integrity shine thru. Your honest need to explore and show us the beauty you see is heartfelt. Thank you for taking us along on a beautiful journey. (and, please get some snake protection). I too liked to explore caves but in Arizona? All I can think of is rattlers, tarantulas, catus and wheres the water?Thank you.
hey thank you so much for those kind words! and im glad you enjoyed the video, it certainly is beautiful country out here! and yes, I will definitely keep these videos a coming!! and technically I do go out on these adventures with protection, but not the rattlesnake kind....appreciate you checking out the video!! thanks again 🙏
I got bit by a burro there in Oatman once. We were sitting in a bar and a burro kicked open the door, and walked over to Mr and took a big bite out of my thigh. Then he walked away! It hurt a little and left a bruise. It was funny!
That's why you always want to stop at the grocery store before you make this run, pick up a bag of carrots and have them handy! I try and carry a few dog biscuits when I walk around the neighborhood in My Little Country Town
Late afternoon, clouds, the sun dipping to the horizon are the very best times for any type of photography. Shadows, sun beams, and the workings of Mother Natures' light modifiers (i.e."clouds") make the scenes change quickly.
Many years ago we took our 2 children to Oatman. It was a great trip, but temperatures were in the triple digits! The kids enjoyed Sarsaparilla soda and we cooled off as well. We took a different route than yours. Thank you for this video! ❤
I have made that trip many times when I have gone to Laughlin. Absolutely love it. Should have mentioned that you can see the Laughlin casinos from Sitgreaves Pass. Oatman is always a blast even just to stop for a few minutes.
Awesome drone shots. I believe the orange car wreck is an old Datsun.. I drove that road 2 times. I loved it. Burros are everywhere in that town. It's a road I would do again and again. Thanks for the great shot.
When I drove this stretch in 2013, I was told I should stop at Sitgraves Pass and walk out to the far end of the overlook. On the backside of the hill were memorials. They were left for family and friends whose ashes were scattered on Route 66.
When I lived there, in the days before the memorials, we called that place the office; there's a flat rock there at the very end that was our 'conference table' and we'd go up there in the evenings to relax from stressful days, have a couple of cold ones and watch the sunset.
Thanks Ruth! was thinking about heading out to bullhead city and doing a video out there in the future! just be sure to keep all the snow in minnesota haha
Hey no problem gonnafish!! Glad you enjoyed it. That drone definitely offers an amazing perspective of the scenery! Appreciate you checking out the video! 👍
I traveled it in the opposite direction. My Mom used to live in Bullhead City and at the time I was living in Phoenix. So I was heading back to Phoenix and decided to go through Oatman. The Burro's are something else
I love Cool Springs, AZ! It is funky and nostalgic and the drive is beautiful…gotta stop at the Fishbowl, a natural rock formation that has a natural spring. Seligman is awesome, too!
Oatman is a nice day drive from Vegas. I do the loop sometimes. Vegas to kingman to oatman. Then I come out the other side to bullhead city and make a stop at Laughlin . From there it is back to Vegas with a stop at a searchlight gas station convenience store I like to stop at.
Sounds like a fun loop, I may have to try that one day. I always liked stopping in at searchlight, that little town has always captured my interest. Thanks for sharing!
At 6:56 there used to be a stream coming down the rock face near those stairs. Someone made a catch basin mortoring in rocks and put goldfish in it. At 10:20 you can park and see the cars that went off the edge a looong way down
My grandfather lived in Kingman but worked for the newspaper in Las Vegas. He wrote and illustrated a story about an old prospector and his burrow. The prospectors name was Badwater Bill.
I drove that exact route and that mountain pass up to Oatman was very stressful for me. Narrow as the dickens and I prayed the whole way up that no one was coming down! No guard rails. I have a class B rv.
Drove this road back in the 90s,towing 20’ trailer, with snow flakes here n there. Wife got unhappier with every mile. Till we hit Oatman, then saw the prize
You should check out the grave in Sitgreaves Pass. It’s a short walk from the pull out. I went to Oatman every week for years but didn’t discover the grave until one of the last trips.
I've actually drive that road. We stopped in Oatman for a bit but something big was going on with so many people and no parking spots. Still pretty cool. We did see many burro's. I was thinking it would make a great motorcycle race.
Drove that road with my family when I was 11, and when my father spun the car around at the scenic view stop, my sister thought he was driving us off the cliff and began to scream bloody murder. LoL. She was the only one who reacted like that.
Lived in Oatman Az for a few years in the 1990’s had a restaurant and the Hotel. That road was quite an experience no matter how many times we did it….
While I know family road trips had us on Route 66 while on trips from to LA & Denver, they'd all have been post realignment. But my dad was also a western history buff so it's possible we once traveled this stretch. Unfortunately family road trips with my drunken parents were often stressful so I've blocked a lot of memories from them out. Thanks again for taking viewers along with you. P.S. I would be a hazard driving this road unless I was a passenger. I'd want to watch the scenery more than the road!
I used to live in Kingman, Az years ago apprx. 1990 ish .. i took my kids to Oatman, Az. I remember a old time jail on the route the kids had a blast checking it out .. there were mine shafts deemed dangerous and metal bars so you couldnt go in and others that you could go into .. we had a great time cheking all the sites on the way .. once we got to the town it looked like it would have back in the day .. the people that lived in the area would dress up in old time clothing and do some re-enactment of the famous gun fight at the ok corall .. it was awesome to see .. i still tell people to go out there for a vacation just to explore and have some good fun .. i dont know if its still the same but the view from the air it looks like new buildings may have gone up since i was there .. burrows still roaming the streets love carrots and apples .. so bring some with you but watch out they can get a bit pushy for their share .. i think there was about 30 -/+ burrows running the streets .. would of liked to see more of Oatman .. and definitely stop by those mines and check them out ...
thank you so much for sharing! Its fun hear the stories from when people visited back in the day....and yes, those burros can definitely get pushy when theres food involved.....thanks for checking out the video

Loved this video. Brings back memories of my early childhood of traveling through Arizona on Route 66 in an unairconditioned, black Plymouth.
Oh hey thanks!
Your trip in the unairconditioned black Plymouth was much cooler than in a damn Hyundai

Oatman❤ one of my favorite places to visit i love it there. It's a amazing place.
it sure is!
Brings back memories. Thank you. We were told that Clark Gable stayed there too.
We were told there was a motel in Oatman but when we got there it was closed
We had to ride back to Kingsman. We got there about midnight. That was the scariest part of my whole 11 day trip
But by the grace of God we got back to Houston alive.
thank you for sharing!
I've taken this road many times, sitgreaves pass is my favorite part of route 66,love route 66.
heck yea!
As the song says “thanks for the memories” Being very young I know we would travel Route 66. Louisiana. 👵🏻👏👏🤗🤗
We moved to Southern California from Brooklyn, New York in October of 63. I was 7 & watch videos like these to see if I remember the route. Thanks for making this.
hey no problem! glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, if you can go back to Oatman it would be great. I think RVerTV did it in springtime with the desert wildflowers just out.
I most certainly will!
I was going to reply about wildflowers! They are so unpredictable, but then there's an amazing carpet, especially across the plain on the East side. Like winning the lottery, you were there that day!
Rode all of Route 66 with my wife on our Goldwing trike back in 2013. That section of the old highway is a great ride!
oh how fun!
I live an hour away, 1 of my favorite, SKETCHY as hell, drives ever. The 25mph speed limit in sections is way too fast!!
@@Skullysogservices heck yea!
It can be annoying with that 1 A-Hole that’s wants to drive 6 inches from your bumper because you’re not speeding and going the limit
Cool Springs is such a cool place to stop. And a must! The original Rt. 66 is a ghost St. That pass has a little cave, you can stop and take a few pics. Oatman is a cute little town! 😆
Thank you 👍
Did you feed the burros?
Now…stop complaining that you never get to see anything!”
Thanks so much for letting me see something along the way all these years later!
Enjoyed reading a glimpse of your childhood travel adventures. 😊
@ Thank you. We all have stories to tell, don’t we.
That Burro wandering around like he's waiting for door dash to finally show up. 🤣
lol 😂buddys waiting for his taco bell!
We went there a couple of times 20 years ago and it's like another world
Follow mode is amazing! used it quite a bit in the video I just shot....that video will be up on the next 6 hours!
Nice mountain road drive, I remember them well . Thx 👍
No problemo! Glad you enjoyed the video!!!! 👍
Thanks!
Hey thanks for watching!
Great drive and video. I spit out my coffee when you mentioned those CA drivers...FACTS!
lol, thanks! I couldnt resist! I had to add that part in there!
Evidently no one seemed to worry about food or water for the burros? 😢
Very cool place…glad it’s open again…highly recommended.
haha, I do that too on certain drives just to drive people crazy 😂
Ended up just driving through Oatman without stopping, but did see the Burros
ahhh, the 70s, what a time to be alive haha....thanks for sharing!
That burro wa so cute!! Probably wanted some snacks too. 😅
haha yea! if I had some popcorn left over I would have coughed up some....burros gotta eat too
better to be with burros than with ghetto bros...
One of Trumps Girl Friends...
Great road trip
awesome! thank you for sharing!
I traveled there about 20 yrs ago when I lived in PHX AZ. I loved getting out and discovering AZ.
I drove that road about 20 years ago. Your drone footage is way better than anything I saw through my windshield. Such amazing landscapes!
Hey thank you so much! the drone adds such an amazing perspective!
Great footage and nice narration. The best video coverage of this section of old Route 66 and Oatman. Thanks.
Gord
Thank you so much!!! glad you enjoyed....such an amazing drive!
Scariest part of Rt 66 was where it ascended/descended La Bajada Hill, just south of Santa Fe, NM. Many switchbacks on a steep dirt road, required vehicles of the day to ascend in reverse.
Dude...Thankyou for planning our next road trip...Cant wait to see whats next
hey no problem! have fun!!
Stiffler graduated from the same high school i did about 6-7 years after me.
I lived in Phoenix for 18 of the past 24 years. There's so much to see in AZ. Watching this makes me a bit homesick. I hope to return again soon.
Thanks for sharing! and yes, definitely have to come back sometime!
What a great video. Ive always loves traveling as a child with my parents and have always loved the old western town attractions. Just such great history.
Thank you so much!
I made this trip twice. Oatman and Kingman are favorite memories of mine.
awesome!
April is adorable! ❤💜💚
Right! she was a sweetie!
Thanks for the ride , I love roads like this . I’ve been to Oatman but came from the south side . Definitely a fun town to visit !!!
Hey your welcome! glad you enjoyed the video!
I got bit by a burro there in Oatman once. We were sitting in a bar and a burro kicked open the door, and walked over to Mr and took a big bite out of my thigh. Then he walked away! It hurt a little and left a bruise. It was funny!
That little SH*T!! lol, walking in the joint like he owns the place biting people.....That day that burro woke up.....he chose the thug life lol 😂
That's why you always want to stop at the grocery store before you make this run, pick up a bag of carrots and have them handy! I try and carry a few dog biscuits when I walk around the neighborhood in My Little Country Town
Good to know for next time!
FASCINATING HISTORICAL TRIP. A FUN DRIVE. MY KIND OF ROAD TRIP. THANKS!
Hey no problem! appreciate you checking out the video!!
Late afternoon, clouds, the sun dipping to the horizon are the very best times for any type of photography. Shadows, sun beams, and the workings of Mother Natures' light modifiers (i.e."clouds") make the scenes change quickly.
yes!!!
Many years ago we took our 2 children to Oatman. It was a great trip, but temperatures were in the triple digits! The kids enjoyed Sarsaparilla soda and we cooled off as well. We took a different route than yours. Thank you for this video! ❤
Hey no problem! glad you enjoyed it!
West Virginia back roads are definitely some of the scariest in this country.
Especially at nighttime !
Thank you 🙏and its a road I will most certainly be doing again!!!
Just added this to my "Places to go" list.
good to hear! you will absolutely love it!! take your time, stop and take lots of pictures!
I've been to Oatman... totally awesome place. I can't wait to go back!!
My wife and I have driven that route several times and love it there at Cool Springs and Oatman.
awesome!
Thank you for posting this. It gave me the confidence to try the same route with my car and drone. I got some amazing footage.
Hey no problem! You got this! Just be cautious, keep an eagle eye out for other cars, and most importantly...have fun!!!
THANK YOU for taking the time and effort to make these videos! AMAZING! Can't wait to get back to AZ!
No problemo! AZ is a beautiful state! hope you can make it back to AZ again!
Awesome Jess! I love Oatman. We went from Bullhead City to Oatman. I love to see the beautiful area and sun, being snow is coming to Minnesota!
Thanks Ruth! was thinking about heading out to bullhead city and doing a video out there in the future! just be sure to keep all the snow in minnesota haha
I've driven this road several times. Very pleasant drive, great views, several things to stop and see.
awesome! it sure is!.....Appreciate you checking out the video!
Thanks for the video, this is a section I had to miss to get to CA on my 66 road trip a few years ago. Glad I didn’t drive this tired at night though.
hey no problem! glad you enjoyed it!
The video and drone perspective is great! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing!
I love Cool Springs, AZ! It is funky and nostalgic and the drive is beautiful…gotta stop at the Fishbowl, a natural rock formation that has a natural spring. Seligman is awesome, too!
nest time for sure!
Route 66 is #1 on my bucket list, preferably on a Honda NT1100
hope you get to make it on there!
At 10:20 you can park and see the cars that went off the edge a looong way down
i heard about those goldfish! bummed that i missed it.....but ill be back
That 10 million is equivalent to 312,000,000 in 2024.
This was an interesting little trip, one I would never brave with those narrow steep roads
I've been to oakland and went to california Border Route through golden shores.
Brings back memories..
I could imagine nothing worse than having a speeder tailgating me on those cliff drives lol 🤕
@treasuretom13 I've had that happen before, not on this road though, but it's very nerve-wracking
Jerome, AZ is my favorite place to visit. I’ve been there about a dozen times in the last 20 years.
oh wow!! love jerome!! its great place!!
Been on that road 100 times on my Harley. Built houses in Bullhead. Now live in the Philippines...talk about scary mountain roads.
Thank you for sharing!
My grandfather lived in Kingman but worked for the newspaper in Las Vegas. He wrote and illustrated a story about an old prospector and his burrow. The prospectors name was Badwater Bill.
Beautiful drive next time I ride across country I'm going that way, don't care how far out of the way it is.
Awesome video thanks for sharing and yeah I'd like you to go back and get more info on oatman and I love the wild donkeys. 💕
Thank you! and yes , I will be going back!
Route 66 is on my bucket list.
heck yea!
I drove that exact route and that mountain pass up to Oatman was very stressful for me. Narrow as the dickens and I prayed the whole way up that no one was coming down! No guard rails. I have a class B rv.
thank you for sharing!
My best girl and I took that drive two weeks ago.
Donkeys!!!
You must do the Apache Trail run from Mesa to Roosevelt Lake.
Lol, already did a video on that. Did it shortly after it reopened 👍
Drove this road back in the 90s,towing 20’ trailer, with snow flakes here n there. Wife got unhappier with every mile. Till we hit Oatman, then saw the prize
Thank you for sharing!
Perfect music for the drone following you.
Thank you! I spend a lot of time looking for the right music! it can definitely make or break a video
You should check out the grave in Sitgreaves Pass. It’s a short walk from the pull out. I went to Oatman every week for years but didn’t discover the grave until one of the last trips.
Those burros in Oatman look to be in good health. Bet the residents' pay vet bills and feed them. I love t!
I've actually drive that road. We stopped in Oatman for a bit but something big was going on with so many people and no parking spots. Still pretty cool. We did see many burro's. I was thinking it would make a great motorcycle race.
nice! thanks for sharing!
dang! DJI did an amazing job in follow mode!! Good Stuff.
right! it still amazes me how good of a job it does
Drove that road with my family when I was 11, and when my father spun the car around at the scenic view stop, my sister thought he was driving us off the cliff and began to scream bloody murder. LoL. She was the only one who reacted like that.
lol, thanks for sharing.....I've done something similar!
Best stretch of 66 in my book.....
I would agree with that! and I've traveled many stretches of route 66
Lived in Oatman Az for a few years in the 1990’s had a restaurant and the Hotel. That road was quite an experience no matter how many times we did it….
I agree! never gets old!
LOL! I know you. Remember Cookie? Howdy from the middle of Oregon!
Thank you so much! glad you enjoyed the video. and I know what you mean. sometimes its hard to focus on the road and the scenery at the same time
I remember that road my mom and i were headed to Chicago back in the 50s
The view from the drone was amazing.
why thank you! the DJI Mini 4 pro is an amazing drone!
Another Great video!! Keep it up , love the factual info embedded..
Thank you! more to come! got some pretty interesting videos coming up in the next couple weeks!
