This makes no sense. Judaism is a religion NOT a nationality. If you don't believe in the Jewish religion, you are not a Jew. No one is born a religion!! Israel calls itself a Jewish state and a democracy. It's an oxymoron. There is no thing as a national Jew. Like I grew up Catholic. I do not believe in the Christian god. I am not a Catholic anymore. I am an Irish American. For a a person no longer a Jew living in the U.S. they are - country of birth American.
Just as there is Irish food, music, history, language, culture as an ethnic/national identity, so too Jewish food, music, history, culture are important parts of Jewish identity. Jewishness began as being Judean (in Judah), and it has always had an ethnic/cultural aspect in addition to religious ideas and practices. Millions of Jews identify with the Jewish people but don't practice Orthodox Judaism (80% of American Jews are non-Orthodox). Being Jewish is not just religion!
you might not believe in a Christian God, but do you still, to some degree follow Christian traditions? eat chocolate on Easter, celebrate Christmas... you still follow its traditions, that have been so normalized you might notice. same thing here, there's so much more to Judaism than believing in god. and faith in the community and history is probably more important
It is both lol the ancient israelites were the ancient Jews and considered to have practiced judaism. Theres just many branches it's confusing because Christianity which is just actually a religion also has many branches as well as many cultures within the Human race that practice Christianity.

Wrong. I’m a JEWISH AMERICAN. If Judaism wasn’t ethnically tied then there wouldn’t be specific generic markers for Ashkenazi Jews such as myself.
