Hard agree. Everyone should be held to the same standards. Streamers and content creators like to pretend that they don't get special treatment from Bungie. But when you hear about them getting invited to summits, getting their banned accounts reinstated in only a few days, getting warnings for cheating or even being able to bully community managers into disclosing ban reasons you know that isn't the truth.
If anything, content creators should be held to a higher standard because they have a platform, not given leniency. They act as a voice for the community and the things they say and do can have an impact on the game and the playerbase as much as they'd like to pretend they don't.

That network manipulation can achieve one thing in this situation and it goes against the ToS of that game 😅
I am still new to D2 so I don’t know anything, but him admitting he knew it was manipulation is not a good look. I believe there is a difference between doing something with intent to gain from it, and doing something and exposing it. Had he done this and completed the encounter, or done this while in a group, likely he would have been banned. But in this instance, I think that is why Bungie just came out and made their statement. It also wasn't a targeted statement, Bungie simply made a statement that this type of thing breaks the ToS.

thats irrelevant, he broke ToS........ lets take away the VPN and claim he used cheats "In a solo run. no group encounter" would that argument still apply? no it wouldnt because he still broke ToS and because he openly posted a video, it now means this exploit is known by others therefor some WILL attempt this in legit runs to make the encounter easier/quicker.
Its the same reason many advocate for NOT posting exploits because it makes the issue substantially bigger, case in point the crafting glitch way back, had the original poster NOT posted this and made it known (but in fact informed bungie) that could have been a disaster avoided. publicity is a big factor you need to be aware of

I'd venture to guess that fewer people are likely to try it thanks to this interaction. Same with his endorsement of the exotic farm macro. Things like that will certainly light a fire under Bungie's ass in terms of A) Addressing community grievances with the grind for exotic class items and B) Removing the ability to farm the items via a macro. It's good for everyone. Only larger content creators have this kind of influence.
