Dr. Dray: Here’s how I use the bottom of my pump bottle. I cut it off 3/4 down (using knife and/or good scissors), scoop out the remaining product and put it into a kitchen container with a lid. You’d be surprised how much product you can save by not just tossing your bottle out.

Happy Sunday! For the LA Roche Posay cream left, I have been cutting the bottle about 2 inches from the bottom and scooping the remainder into another jar. You have to stretch your dollars these days.

I do this to everything, I hate that prescription topical dermatologic medication is so expensive! Some are thousands of dollars for a small tube!
You bet! I have learned that you can also pry the top off an attached pump bottle with needle nose pliers, and there is always more to scoop out. I will then put in little travel container…
I really liked The Four Winds. My dad lived in Texas during the Dust Bowl. He called them “the dirty thirties”. He was pretty young, but it made a huge impact on him. I love all her books. The Great Alone! The Nightingale is probably my favorite. Keep reading, the four winds gets so much better!

I loved “Four Winds”. It is the “Grapes Of Wrath” told from the perspective of a strong female protagonist!
I used to live in the Panhandle of Texas-Oklahoma when I was 25. I’m 77 now. I met a few seniors who grew up during those terrible years featured in Four Winds. One woman said when a storm was blowing in, her mom hung wet sheets on the windows to catch the dirt coming thru window edges, her mom would tie a rope around her child’s waist and send her to lock up the chickens. Rope was insurance the child could find her way back because the day sky would turn black.

To get all the product out of my facial and body products, I use a sharpe scissor and carefully cut the bottle in half so it becomes a tub. I cover it with plastic wrap and an elastic. This helps to ensure I use up all the product.

Thank you for telling us what Rosarco is! Glad that mystery is finally solved. 😄 I was doing cold plunges everyday for about 2 months last year in my unheated pool. I would stay in anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. It really left me invigorated and improved my mood. But at the same time, I'm not going to lie, it's definitely uncomfortable and takes a big commitment in terms of just gritting your teeth and doing it. Which is why I stopped after just two months! I have also read that turning your shower too cold for the last 2 minutes or so can provide similar benefits. But again, I am so wimpy that I can't bring myself to do it!
Omg - those bands for your wrists are brilliant. The #1 reason I dread washing my face, lol. Cannot stand water dripping up my arms or the feeling of cuffs on sleeves. Would be great for when brushing your teeth as well (at least for me😂)

I absolutely love Kristin Hannah and The Four Winds is one of my favorites. It isn't exciting to read but was full of human experiences that you just wondered how people could endure. It was so sad that I cried.

I live with my heat turned down to around 18-19 degrees Celsius (around 65 degrees F). It helps minimize hot flashes and makes heating bills less expensive. 😊

Where I live, the Cicaplast Gel is available since years. I use it mainly after shaving to avoid dryness and irritation and sometimes as last step in my nighttime facial skincare routine. Also in summer after a day outdoors, to restore and calm the skin.
I cold plunge my face only and love it. I noticed over the years that my skin behaves better in the winter than in the summer. I am oily , have rosacea, and live in a humid climate. So naturally I thought that if I trick my skin into thinking it’s winter year round…. Hence…the cold plunge It truly helps with my rosacea.
I have always loved Kristen Hanna’s books . My very first one was Winter Garden . I’m getting the urge to reread it , it was that good . I’m on waitlist at my library for The Women , her newest . I’ve read everyone of her books …..But , for some reason I didn’t get that good feeling with The Four Winds .There was such a hopelessness to the story . Just dreary . Not to mention that I shower at night , then read in bed . I started to feel the dust on me, I’m my mouth , on the sheets , everywhere . Had to resist the urge to run into the shower again !!

The Four Winds took me a long time to read, but it ended up being one of my favorite books! Despite it being a sad book, I think it is a heartbreakingly gorgeous story!

I don't know if this is just placebo, but I swear since I started using Dr. Dray's example and using CeraVe Healing Ointment in place of an eye cream I've noticed growth with my upper & lower lashes.
The Nightingale from Kristin is my all time favorite. Read The Great Alone and The Four Winds. She has a new coming out in a few days. Takes place in US and Vietnam. I received an ARC and I loooved it !! Keep going it gets better.
I love being warm but recently got into cold plunging. My husband built a tub with a chiller, heater and ozone filter.
It’s definitely different than a cold shower. Resets the mind and day, any aches I have are numb.
I would recommend finding a spa or gym that has one to experience it, a local gym’s day pass was $15.

About the wrist cuff protectors. They are AWESOME! But!!! I suggest you buy 4 pair. They get VERY Wet and take more than a day to dry out. So buy 4 pair, that way enough time will elapse to ensure that you always have a dry pair.
Ooooh I love that tiny brush for mascara.
I also have a mascara with a mini size brush. It's handy for the inner-corner upper lashes and also the finer bottom lashes. I find that if I brush my lower lashes first with a clean spooly brush, it loosens up more hidden tiny lashes to coat with primer and/or mascara.
Spending just a bit more time on the lashes can make a big difference. No rushing either... that's when mistakes happen.
I have a brown mascara for a more realistic long eyelash look. Although, where I have gaps, I sometimes carefully draw on extra bottom eyelashes with a waterproof micro eyeliner pen. This takes practice to perfect.

Yes! My son is living in Tallinn, Estonia and the cold plunge/sauna culture is big there. He's done it a few times in the Baltic and it looks awful to me but he liked it. My daughter and I went over Christmas and she did it with him and I was freezing just watching them.

I take a cold shower before work every day and before important events. It really does wonders to make you feel awake and accomplished. Like if you can take some freezing cold water right on your back then you can 100% get through the rest of the day. You also get some de puffing benefits for your face.

I agree with the La Roche posay packaging, that bottle with pump is so annoying. I wanted to finish the product but it stayed at the bottom LOL! I can't even cut it in half because it's pretty sturdy plastic. Never bought it again, I stuck with the tubepackaging.
The Cicaplast gel b5 is amazing. I used it for the post op care after the biopsy (they took a piece of skin and thus the diagnosis: Eczema).I had a scar from that op and I started applying the gel b5 and the scar improved a lot even my mom noticed the improvement. love it. it works for post op, post laser treatment for skin!
I am such a fan of La Roche Posay, it's one of the best brands out there in my opinion
I cut my bottles with a Utility knife and finish with scissors. If your plastic is ultra tough, I use a very small saw. One of my pump bottles of Aveeno body lotion contained about three weeks left of good lotion, so don’t toss it out. There is a ton of product left in the bottom. I put the remainder in a plastic kitchen food container with a lid, and I use it that way.
I agree, LRP products are the best.
I did read Four Winds! Loved it, though it haunts me still. Also, I tried the cold cryogenic booth for joint pain. I noticed an endorphin rush similar to working out hard. It didn’t help any of the pain, though it did lift my mood temporarily. I wonder if the cold plunge mainly triggers endorphins.

When I'm at the end of a moisturizer I turn the bottle upside down after taking the cap off and put it in a little dish or saucer and put it in the corner of my sink area against the wall so it doesn't fall over, and all the cream falls out into the dish but I know that the LRP cream is very thick so I'll have to see if it works for that one when when the pump stops working. I should get some long makeup spatulas.
I used to love ASICS too, but noticed the quality slipping the past two years… I alternate between Saucony and Brooks now. I’m glad you’re enjoying The Four Winds, I hope you get the opportunity to read The Lacuna (Barbara Kingsolver) soon, it is excellent. Happy Sunday!

I wanted to LOVE the Cetaphil Healthy Skin Renew, but it really irritated my skin. It was right at the beginning of winter, so my skin was dry and peeling. I may try again this summer when my skin is in better shape. On a side note, pink is your color 😄

Happy Sunday doctor Andrea cicaplast baume b5+ is a long favorite of mine. Might some not agree with me and like the old formula or even the avene cicalfate or cicalfate+ 😅 but i like it it's more manageable 😊 in terms of spreading and hydration and soothing abilities❤. The gel is an option but it's quite small in terms of quantity. Have a great day ❤.

Happy Sunday! Great Song Choices! I have been enjoying the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Cream. I found your comparison of the Gel vs Cream helpful to make the right for me. But I cannot seem to make up my mind how to use it in my routine. It seems like a cross between a serum and a moisturizer. For my aging dry skin, I have been using it like a serum and then layering a moisturizer with peptides. I notice that you have been using it at nighttime after washing your face with no further steps except your Tretinoin later in the evening. Wondering if I should do the same.

I use those spouts with legs (can’t remember what they are called) but you take off the cap & replace it with the spout with legs & store the bottle upside down on the legs & then gravity takes care of the problem

Those Toast Wristbands....How many times have I been out and about and realized I still have those cuffs on?? Reading Kate Morton Homecoming....slow to get into, but she's such a good writer, now can't put it down.
That Cicaplast Gel looks absolutely perfect for me. I think glycerin has really helped my dry, flaky skin. I was using Cicaplast Balm but the flakiness finally improved when I started layering a The Ordinary serum underneath - and I think it’s the high glycerin content of that product. But man…the Cicaplast Gel is 50% more expensive than the Balm version for the same amount of product. 😞😞😞
I have tried Briogeo’s shampoo & conditioner and found they made my hair feel like dry straw. It took a hair mask from Biolage to fix it and I tossed the samples of Briogeo--ick!!

Athletes do a cold plunge after workouts and games. My daughter played rugby in college and beyond. At the hotels, she sit in the bathtub surrounded by ice. I can’t imagine. I am definitely not made for that, but ai do rinse my body in cold…well more like cool water..at the end of a shower.
Dr dray. Can you make a video about some suggestions how to avoid extreme degradation due to working in a an environment full of organic solvents in a lab (acetone, hexane, toluene, dichlomethane). My skin suffer a lot and i have melasma as well, which got worse during the experiments time.
