Liked & Subscribed! Great video, loved the intro with words of inspiration and friendliness. All of this being said, as I am looking at 13’-14’ GT500’s, would you still roll with this in terms of ALSO looking at 12’-13’ Boss 302’s? Whichever I get, is going to be my “errand runner” / daily. Some would say it’s stupid but it’s about smiles per gallon. Obviously there’s a huge price gap on those but one thing that keeps flowing in my head is the fact that the 500 is supercharged. I’m not sure how long down the road it would be before getting wife approval on throwing one into a Boss 302 haha! So would you still rock with this / regret selling it if you did?

I owned that car for exactly 5 years and don’t necessarily regret selling it because it put me in my R8 but there’s times that I say man I miss that raw power of the car. I get a feeling if you go with the 302 which is a beautiful car by the way, there will come a point when you crave more power and you’ll consider forced induction anyways.
Nitpick city. Face it, the 13-14 GT500s are etched into American performance car history. Whiney owners should probably study the history of musclecars or switch hobbies altogether.

I prefer cars without backup cameras, with hood props, and the brake dust can be remedied by purchasing aftermarket brake rotors and/or ceramic pads. I like the subtlety of the car's design. I would love to own a 13'-14' Shelby GT500. BMR makes an anti-hop wheel package. I've heard they're wonderful. These car's are special for numerous reasons, but especially because this was the last year Carrol Shelby was involved with the mustang. His contributions were for people like me, people who wanted a well rounded, tough as nails Mustang, with the Mustang pushing all limits. This one 3.5s 0-60, 7.4s 0-100, and a top speed of 200mph. Now, let's talk Super Snake. . .

Race Gas Smells Good thank you so much!! I just hit 41k miles on a 2013. Are you in the market for one?
They have a different front bumper with big round fogs down low and a larger lower grill it looks more aggressive. The rear wing looks optional from the factory and alot of guys with the v6 and gt. The big snakes look sick and as you said the badass hood. I think they did quite a bit to differentiate it from other mustangs. Svt was always about subtle changes that make the car look and perform better than a regular mustang but it's subtle changes that your average person don't notice. I think they look sick personally.
You’re so right! They look menacing from the front for sure. The parts for mustangs have always been easy to switch out so yes people with V6’s and GT’s can make theirs look like it with minimal effort.
Is the car lowered? Seems like it wasn’t aligned right if the front wheels are wearing that uneven. Also, it sounds like you have mufflers on the car? If that’s the case go back to the stock mufflers and it’ll quiet it down

I have the same issue going from 1st to 2nd in my 2011 what I find helps though is if I just pull straight back and don’t force it to the left while I’m pulling back if I just go from one straight back to two it seems to work better I have a tendency to want to push my shift to the left while I’m pulling it back but if I try to not do that, for some reason it shifts better.

I don’t notice an issue at all from 1st to 2nd in my ‘14 GT500. You did explain - but yeah for my personal taste - the stripes say Shelby … as do the letters at the rear that you removed. No backup camera is my biggest complaint…. In addition to those Stock Goodyear’s …. useless and downright dangerous!! Pilot sport 4S all around and it’s totally hooked up. I love mine and no plans to sell it.
That’s good stuff! I plan on running the PS4’s next on my R8 because I have been hearing great things about them. I miss the shelby everyday but she’s in good hands and I know one day I’ll own one again! Thanks for watching 👍🏽
We brought our 2013 GT500 to Germany and it loves the autobahns. For those who want to know I've had it up to 195 ish. I usually keep it between 100-150. I still find it weird when you pass the Polizei at those speeds and they don't come after you. My only 2 complaints are when I ride on the cobbles, it rattles and creeks a bit and also when it's wet on those same cobbles it slips big time. It's only a "fair weather car" for me. We have a Ford Focus RS and my wife's Mach E.

@@AndrewNobleOfficialWe don't know yet. The Mach E arrived and we were ready to take delivery when we got the call that there is an issue with the transmission. My wife didn't ask the questions like is it a software issue or a real transmission issue. They are in contact with Ford USA. All deliveries in Germany are on hold and it might be Europe and world wide wide? I'm sure we will like it once we get it. I've been all over UA-cam watching reviews.

@@AndrewNobleOfficial We had a Tesla Model X in California. We loved it but when we moved here we couldn't take it with us as the maps and charging systems don't work in the EU. When we bought it they assured us that we could take it, no problem. We have a BIG problem with Tesla now. We lost 30K because of their ineptness!
You’ll miss that beast when it’s gone . Trust me I got rid of my 2008 gt500 and 2 years later I got another gt500 2014 . Couldn’t stand it any longer had to get another
I’ll definitely own another one day for sure. I just couldn’t swing the R8 plus the shelby but working towards that 👍🏽
I just bought a white 2012. Very similar to yours. I have trouble with 2nd gear too.
Yea I heard your gen was a little worse with the 1-2 shift. Now they don’t have to worry about it with the dual clutch lol

@@NESDwayne from what I know there are shifters that help. I also saw guys building the trans because they were doing big power upgrades.
I own one. You hate it? Lol. Crazy. One of the best cars I've owned. Heritage aside, loved the power, handling, & to me very comfortable.

What is the widest tire front and back that can fit on this GT500?

Have you ever drove a hellcat challenger? I’m torn between this and a 2015 hc challenger. They’re roughly the same price in todays market.
Yes they are very similar in how they drive. I will own a gt500 again for sure. I am more of a ford guy than mopar so that’s the way I would lean.
@@AndrewNobleOfficial well like you mentioned not having a back up camera and I believe the hc has slightly nicer interior. I’m wondering if they’ll both appreciate in value now since car companies are pushing for electric vehicles and dodge is done making the challenger and charger. But the 13-14 was last year Shelby was alive and only mustang marketed to hit 200mph. There’s one 5 hours from me it’s a 14 with 30k miles for 51k. It’s the track package w recaros. Just not sure if I’m wanting to pull the trigger or not
@@Jhubb7 yes that’s one thing I will say is that dodge does have a way nicer interior. I had a Durango when the new one came out and it was one of my favorite things about it. Man you do have a tough choice. I’d say as long as the challenger is a manual then either one would be great

Thank you so much! Yes the engine really doesn’t take well to heat. Pretty much all mustangs suffer from it. I don’t track it much so it doesn’t bother me but I’m sure it’s on others lists for not liking their gt500.

Ford addressed heat soak with the usage of aluminum blocks on the 2011 and newer GT500s. My iron block 04 Cobra had that issue and you could feel the power drop on a warm day. The Hellcats still use an iron block I believe.
Vmp triple pass heat exchanger helps alot.
I added a backup camera to my 2012 GT500 convertible. Otherwise with the top up you can't see much behind it. And you're very wise to find out where your daughter is before reversing, a former coworker's mother backed her SUV over her 5 year old boy, he's a paraplegic now and they had to deal with his special needs as well as a suicide attempt by grandma.
i mean even though its a lot older but people still like the 03-04 terminator cobra including me. 😁

I put the hood struts on the first day I got it and car is just to plain without stripes, looks like every other mustang and boring interior but you have to be wealthy to get a 2020 and above
Yea I miss it sometimes and then I’ll get in the R8 with 2 more cylinders and it’s like okayyy I’m good lol I will have another one someday though 👍🏽

I haven’t owned it for a year 😢 but for the 5 years I had it, I only had 1 major electrical issue

Never even with stock shifter missed 2nd gear. With the now MGW shifter I ONCE went from 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th while accelerating. Lastly I would like you to express your complaints in comparison to a car that costs 65-70k and has all the amenities this Shelby has @ the car in question needs to make 662hp. This car is a bargain at the 65k new price. I think your are a whiner and know you want your car to stand out but you remove the Shelby letters off the rear of car which IMO makes your car say "I'm a V6 with loud mufflers. You evidently don't know or have no respect for Carol Shelby. For the money this is by far the best cookie cutter car for the money. I know because I have two of them. Bought them used one for 39k and the other for 35k. Both black both track pack cars. One has ghost stripes and one is stripe delete. And lastly bad advice a 305 /30 or 35/20 tire is the wrong size for a 9.5 inch rim. A 295/30 or 35/20 is pushing it . You might want to sell the car to someone that knows what they have.. Other tan that you made a very informative, interesting and well shot video
Thank you for your feedback. I always welcome any and all comments. I’ve moved on from this car into the supercar realm about 8 months ago. I really did enjoy ownership of the GT500 as I posted what I loved about it too. I had to search for complaints. I’ll probably own another one in the future.

I just bought a 2012 bone stock red with white stripes PP car. Absolutely love it but I have the same issue with the brake dust. It’s a never ending job keeping the wheels clean. That said, the dust is not that visible because of the color of the wheels.

I recently bought a 14 Shelby gt 500 svt with 6,600 miles on it. I paid 65,000 for it and traded my 2020 Shelby GT 350 for it. It's a beast

Outch, 65k for a 14' GT500. You can get a 2020-21 now for 73-85k.

I do know people that have had the 2020 and 21 GT500 and they went back to a 2011 2014 MY. The original 5.4 blk is slightly stronger than the 5.8 Trinity because of the boring to bump it up to a 5.8. But otherwise those 5.4's 2011-12 and 5.8's of 13-14 are pretty damn solid in terms of quality, reliability, even with 750 rwhp/850 crank hp. Can't say that about the 5.2 2020+ GT500.

I spent over a hundred grand and bought an R8. Still there is things that could be better. I do miss the 500 but there’s nothing like the sound of a screaming V10 🙌🏽

I would say that there are cars that should only be owned and drivin by Single Adults 30 or older, These examples of cars would include 600 horses and higher. Shelbys, Hellcats . Vipers and Vettes, ect. These cars can get sideways without help. why contribute to the Widow and Orphan population.
