- Former Guns N' Roses members Steven Adler and Matt Sorum are thrilled to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they also expressed remorse over the fact that some of their musical heroes have yet to be honored. "It's such an honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but then I found out that KISS isn't in here, and then I found out the other day that Rush isn't in there," says Adler. "They've got to be inducted. If it wasn't for those bands and a couple other ones, there wouldn't be a Guns N' Roses."

@@capnjshe still plays good, though. He has got himself a very, very good "coverband" nowadays, he makes some money out of playing the songs he loves so much and his singer is way better than Axl's been for years. 🙂

Good lord did you read his book he wrote ? All he does is badmouth Axl the entire time. He even has a chapter called Axhole. You can tell he was bitter and jealous of Axl. Read it. You will have a different view. He’s not the sunny person his big smile makes him out to be. It’s no wonder why Axl is pissed at him.

Sorum played more GNR hits than Adler, previously played in the Cult (on their biggest album) and played in Velvet Revolver after leaving GNR. Three successful bands. I think Sorum is a rockstar as well.
If I end with the brain damaged and the mouth twisted because of cocaine, heroin, acids, I won´t be a rockstar.

Love that Steven Adler mentioned Journey. Journey DEFINITELY should be in the Rock N' Roll HOF! It was great to see these guys showing respect to the ones who came before.
Journey was inducted in 2017, but I still can’t get over Iron Maiden not being inducted.
in 1991 I would have never thought I'd see Matt Sorum and Steven Adler standing next to one another at the Rock N Roll hall of fame....then again in 1991 I never would have thought Axl would eventually be replacing the enitire band. They were the next Aerosmith as far as I was concerned then.

I’m glad that they acknowledge how unfair it is that they got inducted before a lot of their influences did. Adler and Sorum are down to earth guys.

Steven Adler has always had that huge, childlike grin on his face when he played. I get reminded of the Ritz 88 and him always smiling when the camera was on him. He had such a great feel for what the band was looking for and he delivered. He was also the only member of the band that spoke highly about everyone and always called the guys in GnR his "brothers."
Steven is always the hunble guy.
I met Steven Adler in 1995 at his house in San Francisco. I hang out with him for 4 days. Great guy!

Adler suffered a stroke after taking a potent speedball around 1996. Given the amount of drugs and alcohol that G-N-R band member have done over the years, it's a miracle that all the band members are still living.
Thanks for the info!! I did not know that! I used to be a BIG GNR fan, got to meet Slash. He shared his tequila with us:) And we shared what we had with him:) Also got Gilby Clarke and Matt Sorum's autograph at the Dungeon in New Orleans. Supposedly, Axl was there but I was too intoxicated to remember that.....lol. Glad Steven is alive and lovin life!!!
Both these guys have absolutely no idea how solid they are. And it's because they're so underrated. Not enough drummers know these guys. But if you want groove and sloppy dirty rock. This is where you come

Both of these dudes are fine drummers and gentlemen.
For about 8 of my 20 years my biggest wish has been for GNR to get back together. I can't think of anything that could make me happier. For me GNR are right up there with The Stones. Axl is my favorite vocalist ever. I can't listen to, " Knocking on Heaven's Door," and not get chills.

I loved Matt Sorum's induction speech. It was really funny and it was great to see Steven next to him. I agree with those guys about KISS and other bands of that era who made a real impact and have yet to be inducted. Every major band from the early 1980's or earlier should be in there (Rush, Def Leppard, Motley Crue etc.)

I agree and I don't, Where as, yes, Axl does precieve himself as the "lendary Rock frontman) type (A lot of ppl, love him or hate him, would agree that he actually is) and he did sing terribly live when he re-emerged with his new "gnr". However, I saw them live just last year and I was actually really surprised by how good Axl sounded. They played 3 hrs and he was top notch from start to end.
I'm also seeing Slash and Myles live on July 30, 2 days after my bday..so pumped!
I think Matt was the right man when it came to ballads indeed, but for the real swinging rock songs, Steven was the man.

steven is so nice and awsome we saw him play at the hardrock in las vegas and he was so nice to my husband noah and i. he gave me a drumstick that he actually played with and signed it for me. it stay's on our entertainment center in our living alway's. very special to me.

One of my extended family members used to be with Guns N' Roses contributing to their gigs right before they exploded. He told me they were the biggest scumbags he ever met in his life. Nice to see they grew up & matured over the years into adults as is evident in this video.

Steven had a stroke and lost alot of the muscle movement on the left side of his face. You should read his book he wrote about his life. It is fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time. I am amazed he survived to be at the induction, to be honest, after all he went through.

he's an amazing drummer, use your illusion 1 is my favorite album of all time, i'm just saying since brownstone was on appetite, i think steven should've played it, i think they should've played something off the illusions for matt to play, they're both talented drummers

Every drummer I compare to Keith Moon. But these 2 are legends. I can imagine all three of them on a good night out - what a night that would be!! Count me in!!
I can relate. My Grandad lost control of his waist down and right arm in 2003 after having a stroke. he somewhat had a lift in 2006 followed by another stroke which saw the end of his life. ='(

I agree with you Joao. Axl was the problem not anybody else. I think the rest of the band didn't know just how to handle Axl's sweltering ego which by then was the size of the St Lawrence Seaway.
I think Music Hall of Fame is a better name than Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame.
Adler is real, real GNR Sorum looks like a fashion designer.

Adler's right. When you look at the bands that are not in the Hall of Fame, it's wrong. Don't worry Rush finally made it this year. KISS, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc.....At least some made it like Metallica and Black Sabbath, but looks like they look more at sales than influences. That's why my favorite Annihilator will never make it in the Hall of Fame, but at least they're still making great music, unlike some, that are in the Hall of Fame but don't do much anymore.
