as a type 3 "edgy or angst" artist the main thing for me is that with horror of darker toned sketches there can be less restraints and expected outcomes from the style because fear and therefore horror is subjective and unique
you forgot: the artist who only ever draws on their school papers, and are really good but never draws outside of math class. edit: for everyone saying this isn’t an “artist”, it is. art is subjective. just because they don’t draw as constantly as others doesn’t mean they aren’t an artist; they make art. anyone who creates forms of art (whether that be writing, drawing, animating, etc) is an artist.

They use drawing to flesh out their creative worlds and many of them overlap with the unfinished artist since they are always working on their ideas, making changes and further developing them, and they are often dissatisfied when the can't create what they see in their head.

Basically I draw, for example, a demon girl with blood splattered all over her face and clothes BUT she is smiling “cutely” (?) and is making peace signs with each of her hands But most of the time I just draw “dark” things without mixing it with anything (Also I’m not trying to be “edgy”)
I’m the “Eyestrain” artist. I love to draw things that burn your retinas. Most of the things I draw have bright colors and are either full of gore, cute things or angst!

really late but i know one, the vent artist: a really kind person who mainly draws from a low angle and when drawing you may see them with their head down. sometimes they draw happy things but the notebook will definitely have vents that you wouldnt see anytime soon unless their comfortable.

I'd say I'm more of a character artist. I love drawing characters and designing clothes. I also like drawing dynamic stuff, like floating hair or wings or dresses, and this sort of combines with the design part. This means that I do and have always done a lot of experimenting even though I've found my style. I'm not really someone who draws 'seriously', I just do it as a way to pass time and it became a part of my life.
I can relate, all I ever draw are characters, whether they be my own or not, I just don't enjoy drawing things that I can't give a story and personality to
Me too, in almost everything I draw the background is just a shape or pattern with an interesting character with possibly a cute pose or a prop. I don't hate drawing backgrounds and I enjoy home decor and stuff like that, but i think i'm bad at it, so I always practice and practice.
I'm very much a character artist, creating characters and their backstories. Drawing them in outfits, circumstances according to their story, or quirks. Could be because I love writing stories, world building, and character growth.
Same I tend to "leave space" for things that I think will continue and finish up but I never do. Most of my pages are art blobs of many different things not in a particular order. I also go from first few pages to the last and always end up leaving the middle untouched.

i remember watching this video when it was first published; i was actually freshly a beginner artist. i was following a lot of art channels, and lavendertowne was one of my favorites. now often then i'd see a lot of videos of these artists going back to their old sketchbooks and comparing their current art to their old art, and i felt i was doing something wrong because all their beginner art was complete, like nothing was left as a half-sketch. i feared that i may not become or continue as an artist because all my art was unfinished and inconsistent. so when lavendertowne here stated that she believed that "unfinished artists" improve at the fastest rate, i felt like a light was being shone on me, as dramatic as that sounds. her words have never left me, and i always remember them in times that i think that i'm too inconsistent, not improving, or not getting anywhere. and here i am now, 4 years later, finding the one video that kept my inner artist going. i've come a long way, and i'm still enjoying every step of my artist journey, so, thank you lavendertowne for inspiring me so much.
I'm the "dream artist" I draw mostly things, people and places I see in my dreams. If many drawings connect themselves, I find a big picture and create a story out of it. It makes nightmares way more desirable than it should be.

the vent artist: a really kind person who mainly draws from a low angle and when drawing you may see them with their head down. sometimes they draw happy things but the notebook will definitely have vents that you wouldnt see anytime soon unless their comfortable.

I'd say I'm more of a character artist. I love drawing characters and designing clothes. I also like drawing dynamic stuff, like floating hair or wings or dresses, and this sort of combines with the design part. This means that I do and have always done a lot of experimenting even though I've found my style. I'm not really someone who draws 'seriously', I just do it as a way to pass time and it became a part of my life.
I can relate, all I ever draw are characters, whether they be my own or not, I just don't enjoy drawing things that I can't give a story and personality to

Me too, in almost everything I draw the background is just a shape or pattern with an interesting character with possibly a cute pose or a prop. I don't hate drawing backgrounds and I enjoy home decor and stuff like that, but i think i'm bad at it, so I always practice and practice.

i remember watching this video when it was first published; i was actually freshly a beginner artist. i was following a lot of art channels, and lavendertowne was one of my favorites. now often then i'd see a lot of videos of these artists going back to their old sketchbooks and comparing their current art to their old art, and i felt i was doing something wrong because all their beginner art was complete, like nothing was left as a half-sketch. i feared that i may not become or continue as an artist because all my art was unfinished and inconsistent. so when lavendertowne here stated that she believed that "unfinished artists" improve at the fastest rate, i felt like a light was being shone on me, as dramatic as that sounds. her words have never left me, and i always remember them in times that i think that i'm too inconsistent, not improving, or not getting anywhere. and here i am now, 4 years later, finding the one video that kept my inner artist going. i've come a long way, and i'm still enjoying every step of my artist journey, so, thank you lavendertowne for inspiring me so much.

I draw mostly things, people and places I see in my dreams. If many drawings connect themselves, I find a big picture and create a story out of it. It makes nightmares way more desirable than it should be.
