Sadly, the reality (at least with oil painting) is that you never look good while painting because all you dare to wear is something that either has paint on it already, or you don’t mind getting destroyed. And if you do realism you don’t even get the cute paint-splatter look, just a brownish-green mass of chaos down the front of your apron...
@@sssunnyd7874 it’s one thing if you do watercolor or gouache, and some temperas are actually edible, but another entirely if it’s acrylics, or even worse, oils... I Draw On Paper And Transfer On My Phone To Digitalize It By Tracing My Own Drawing And I Also Color It With Colored Pencils And Sometimes Markers And Sometimes Pencils
I love how different the painter is from the digital artist. I’m a person who does both, and both of those personalities fit. And it’s weird because I can be so patient with my paint but when it comes to digital art I have none. 😅
@@aidenflame1576 I do graphite on digital sometimes if it makes sense (basically I use a thin lineart pen with texture and do the usual graphite things)
I am a painter, but I am anything but patient 😂 I’m also really bad with not ever finishing my paintings, they’ll just sit in my office for months on end, and then eventually I’ll find the inspiration to finish them 🥴 you did get the sorta vintage thing spot on though, I have always been a lover of old, or antique things, it gets incorporated in both my work and my everyday style 😁
I feel like watercolor is a bit missed out here. I use it for my art primarily, and I feel like it’s a whole different area of painting because you can use it with line art and precision.
I make pencil drawings that I scan and colour digitally. I love traditional art, but I also love the limitless colours of digital mediums, so I just combine the two. Sometimes I’ll do something completely traditional, and sometimes I’ll do something completely digital, but blending the two mediums can be really fun.
I really love blending colors. This is why I am IN LOVE with painting. Digital just tosses you the colors, and it’s fun for me to buy paints and test around with different unique colors.
SAME! At the end of the day, while my graphite art is more common (more accessable for me) and I can do graphite so much better than digital, I like to use digital for colors and I relate way more to the average digital artist lol
Scanners really arent expensive at all, my parents barely made a fuss about getting one while i had to ask for a tablet for ages. Idk about drawing bigger than a4 size paper though
I would like to see your interpretation of a multi-media artist! This is the category I fall in myself, so kind of a mix of a graphite artist, a little bit of a painter, and a digital artist as well
Can’t forget inks, alcohol/water-based markers, coloured pencils and the like! I too am a multi/mixed media artist and most of my art pieces have anywhere from 1 to 4 medias in the final product. I’m pretty much never using the right type of paper or surface for the job but it gets it done
Me, a digital artist, who's been drinking an energy drink the entire time I've been watching this, in sweats and a flannel ive been wearing for a week straight, unshowered with the same exact messy, unruly ponytail as the pic: now this is just unfair
I drink coconut water while drawing/studying/doing anything that allows me to have a free hand to drink coconut water. Although healthier than an energy drink, I drink so much that last time I had my potassium level tested, it was deadly high. I stopped drinking coconut water for a few months and it was torture
I'm more of an illustrator (using colored pencils and markers) and ceramicist. But I do enjoy watercolor painting as well. Thanks for posting this video!! All of these were very true and are more visible in college than it is anywhere else. I definitely know from experience!

I and some other artists use different medias regularley. I really love your art style and I hope you have a good day or night!
I second this! I use... a LOT of different mediums; maybe not all at once but I can say with hand on heart that when I'm "in the depths" so to speak, I naturally gravitate to my paints and just paint all those bad feelings outta me. ( ;^_^)>
if you do a part two here are some ideas: -copics (i would love to see this one since i am a copic artist myself :D) -watercolors -clay art -wood carving -pastels -markers (when i say markers im talking about crayola or a brand like that) -ink -a mixed media artist (i saw somebody else comment mix media artist so i wrote it here i dont wanna take credit for somebody else's idea)
I mean I would do alcohol markers in general, I prefer prismacolies and really don’t like using copics. But each have their own strengths so I would do all brands as well. Copic ohuhu prisma and promarker. I’d love to see some of your art if you share it, since it’s hard to find marker artists on social media!
@@torid.344 I wish i could share my art on social media im only 12 so my parents wont let me get social media sadly but I might be able to when im 13 :D also there is a youtube channel called minori and she does alot of anime and copic art she got me into copic markers in the first place! check out her channel out if you are interested :)
Could you make a part two for this? i really like it, but there's way more fun art mediums out there that you can explore! :D my preferred medium for example: colored pencil. well, technically normal pencils, fineliners, and then colored pencils. also alcohol markers could be another one that would fit nicely, and some kind of 3d art. you don't have to make a part two, but there's a lot of potential for a fun video! :)
I luuuuv drawing with colored pencils, if you draw/color with colored pencils I reccomend Arteza or Prismacolor, and use “Toned Tan” paper! It helps ALOT!
Maybe your preferred medium is all of them, if you love drawing(painting) in those mediums then they can be your main mediums. (I hope this helped but you don't HAVE to pick all of em if you dont want to lol)
LOL i love how every character you made was so proper and then the digital was just hoddie vampire and as a digital artist i can agree that most of that was true *i just dont get that tired when i draw idk why* but all of these sound so on point 10/10
As a digital drawer I can totally confirm this is true, me and a couple of my friends are digital drawers and they mostly wear sweaters, grungy clothes and have fluffy hair. And for me I’m a stupid emo and I tend to use both pencil and my devices to draw so I have the worst posture, my mom says I look like a shrimp! My clothing choices always usually are pastel or I just stick with my typical emo look
I'd love to see tropes such as the ball-point pen/fineliner artists (or any pen artists, basically the ones who don't/refuse to sketch first with pencil)
Me: "Why is my eyesight and why is my back hurting?" Also Me: **hunched over and stareing about not even a few feet away from my tablet screen for hours on end**
I have been doing pencil art for 3 years now, its the only thing that can keep me sane anymore, i'm always drawing gore, weirdcore or other things, i always love to see great artists on platforms, keep up the good work! i love your content alot!
I use pens and Sharpies a lot. Messy art that I can't go back on, but t somehow makes me feel satisfied, like I'm not stuck in a box of certain art "rules"
I’m in a similar boat, I do a lot of sketching and ink, the pain of going slightly outside the line due to a twitchy hand is immense, but worth the end result
Crayons are my go-to, I feel like they're often overlooked so thank you for including me! Once you figure out how to get the effect you want with color in crayons you can do pretty much anything! :D
As pencil user, I like how you added that we need to be careful with every stroke and that we can choose how soft or hard the pencil can be. It's true, every masterpiece I make is entirely made up of pencil and I can choose how to shade and draw with every pencil, I draw realistically and I personally don't draw people. I draw fruit, vegetables, nature, ect, but I can't use a reference. U make it all up in my head, but what you said was very true thank you for adding that ☺️

Leather Artists: A lot of simple, functional buttonups with the sleeves rolled up, and also hipster fashion. It requires a wide variety of tools and a workbench, and like painting, these are the same tools that have been used for 1000 years. It's extremely structured work; after the paper drafts are done, there's very little wiggle room.
as someone who works with both paint and alcohol markers regularly, the painting one was honestly really accurate!! I am nowhere near as calm and serene but painting does really teach you color theory and how to be patient and emotional with your art :)

One thing that I am unable to try is digital art though, hopefully soon I'll be able to because it looks extremely fun to do! I just found your channel and I think it's great! :D
Painting in digital always made me guilty, but then I realized how expensive traditional supplies are and how long the process takes… and now I’m kinda glad I paint with pixels
I went from graphite and copics to digital and i feel like both the pencil girl and digital girl have similar vibes but are both missing something for me so id love to see a second video with alcohol markers! I love the distinct look they give manga panels, they seem like a richer more complex watercolor
As a traditional artist who only uses pencils this was literally the opposite of me XD I know this is more stereotypical but still, the stereotype couldn't be farther from the reality lmao. For clothes, I put on whatever I get on my hands first, I do detail but I don't spend too much time on it. I'm still in my anime phase and my hair style is just whatever style it is when I wake up. I'm also not a neat person, just let me have a clean room for a few days and I'll already be swimming in trash. UPDATE: I am taking more care of myself now that I'm finally using Selectra (Anti-depressants) and I am no longer in my anime phase even though I still watch some from time to time.
I'm predominantly a pencil artist, but mostly lighter graphites rather than charcoal, purely because I'm clumsy and terrified of smudging all my hard work! I look the most like the painter, though, down to the headscarf, blondish hair, stained hands, messy apron, and absentminded that's-not-my-coffee-cup. I don't tend to wear white tops however - see my previous note about chronic clumsiness! Personality-wise... apparently I need to try digital art.
u always come up with some pretty good stories but never finish them and u never find time to write them down? 😂 is that the description u were looking for?😅
You’ve got me all wrong.. I would love to see knitting/crochet in your next one! It is the medium I am working in a lot right now because it is just so accessible and I'm able to make little gifts for people.
I use traditionnal for my sketches and digital for the lineart and colours. Draw-pic' take-trace-colour. All this with just my phone and finger. But end up with awful back posture.

And if you do realism you don’t even get the cute paint-splatter look, just a brownish-green mass of chaos down the front of your apron...
As a person who loves painting galaxies and gets paint everywhere, I constantly look like a emo art kid witch is not what im going for lol
Mmmm, drinking paint water

But if I think about it I probably ingested some oils and acrylics, and *definitely* a lot of watercolors, and I’m still alive...

Sometimes I’ll do something completely traditional, and sometimes I’ll do something completely digital, but blending the two mediums can be really fun.
