@@FunGoingFast btw, it also tows a 2.8 metric ton twin trailer through our garden easily, without destroying the lawn in 4-wheel (touch button) mode and my wife and daughters love to drive it. Super easy and a workhorse at heart
I bought a 2008 for my son, he's 7. But the deal was good. Today I was gonna load it, wash it to list it for sale because I'm impatient and I want him to be able to ride with us... But I changed my mind, that quad is so slick... Just gonna have to wait for him to grow a bit more.
As a Yamaha slut I approve this message. I just completed the trifecta. Own a 08 1100 Vstar, Triple 700 Ventura snowmobile & now finally an 08 Wolverine 450, with 2700 miles on it. Cool vid bud👍🏻
Good video, I have an 06 2x4 350 version of it, that I’m about to get up and running again. It was such a fun quad to ride on tight trails! Aside from being imho, the best looking ATV in it’s era, I thought it was a highly capable, near ideal sporty trail riding machine. Bring it back Yamaha! 😎
@@FunGoingFast Cool, so you would be the person to ask. As I have the 350 2WD, in your experience, is there any big advantage in having the 450 4wd (other than the obvious 4wd capacity) as a fun trail riding machine? Like does the extra weight of the 450 feel different on the trail and is there any significant difference in the the power or speed? As I have often thought about buying a 450 version if one was available.
I have a 07 Yamaha Wolverine 350 2x4 since new. Happy I went with the sport version. I let it sit to long and need to clean out the fuel system. Might as well replace the petcock and rebuild the carbonator. The other issue is the front brakes, they seized, but released when I removed the brake fluid. Maybe water got in there. Anyways, appreciated this video and all the comments. Going to get my bike up and running and time to hit the trails!
I haven’t torn into my 07 Yamaha wolverine yet but I’m pretty positive that the starter is going out, any idea where it is located and how time consuming of a job it would be?
You can see it sitting on top of the motor towards the front. Never had to change one though. If you go to Rocky Mtn ATV or another parts website it will give you an exploded view. Good luck.
That's right... fuel injection, irs, power steering, cup holder and a built in screen... That's exactly why they dont make them anymore... Peoples wants all the gadget on their quad and are desapointed when it doesn't handle like a Blaster...
I wouldn’t consider fuel injection the same as adding a screen. Id call it more efficient engine design. Interesting take. And people must be OK without screens or they would not still be selling the raptor 700 or YZ 450, and both are fuel injected now.
Agreed 100%. Good luck with the parts. If you can figure out the part numbers you need, and really dig into Google search you can sometimes find leftover supply at the parts houses.
Definitely go for the 450 if you can. The 350 is about the same weight with 100 less cc’s, no 4wd and no digital dash. I have a 350 now and its a great beginner quad but nowhere near as capable.
I found a few on Facebook marketplace but my question is how smooth do they ride I know they are solid rear axle Yamaha doe’s really good smooth riding solid axle I’m wondering if this machine ride’s good like other Yamaha machines Yamaha has the best cvt of them all they never burn belts one of my best friends had a grizzly 660 and his son got it stuck in thick sticky mud instead of burning a belt it broke the rear driveshaft you can’t break the ultramatic transmission it’s the best cvt out there they are easy to find if you know where to look there’s a bunch of them on marketplace here in Florida but if anyone can find one it’ll be my best friend Tim him and his wife used to be my neighbors they’ve been my friends for years he’s an expert on Yamaha atvs he can definitely find one I totally forgot about this atv I was going to look at a Polaris scrambler but the wolverine I totally forgot about
If you ride at a normal pace its fairly smooth, and super fun to drift. Once you start pushing it on rougher stuff you can notice the difference. And jumping off of unevern terrain. But it handles better than a Polaris and has a much lower center of gravity. And as you said they are incredibly durable. Good luck! I still regret selling mine.
@@FunGoingFast one thing I’m now thinking is going brand new with a cf moto 800 xc that way I can take someone for a thrill ride the cf moto is cheaper brand new and it’s a v twin I still do like Yamaha they make a good product it’s just way overpriced I wish Yamaha would do a twin cylinder atv
I got one and I have like 7600miles on it its still works good as new always recommend the quad
Nice! That’s getting your money’s worth.
Own one, agree on all points. Its a blast.
Thanks!

Haha. You made the right decision. They are getting harder to find. Enjoy!

Nice! You were smarter than me and held onto it. Very cool.
I have a 2003 wolverine 350. Its full time 4x4. But is a freak in rough terrain

Do these have low range like the 660 grizzly I have a 350 grizzly and hate not having low range like my 660 did
No low range on these either.
I’m buying one now 😂
Nice! That rear cargo tray was a factory/dealer option that the first owner purchased. It was handy. Not sure how available those would be now.
