Still have mine. Took it riding yesterday, in fact. Such a great machine and is still running like a champ in its 17th year. I wouldn't know what I'd replace it with anyway so I just keep it.
Look, I got the 350 2006. This is more dual sport, in the sense of entry level. It'll slide, it'll scream, it'll sound like the hardest hitting thing from half a mile away. Mine will fly at 78mhp, IF U CAN FIND PARTS THAT CAN SUPPORT IT GO FOR IT. It's hard as hell to find parts but if u know what you're looking for power can be added. What you need to understand is they come torqued up stock so if you send it and power slide with stock shocks and stock tires you're done. Mine is abt to get a new carb, nice shocks and a lowering kit. When modding these things change out your shocks and lower it, started modding and the moment I sent it and power slid i tipped it. Mines already got a 3 inch longer wheel base. It's an automatic and all thought banging gears are fun this thing will make u feel like ur on a death trap. I've never had an issue with this machine and I've ran it so hard I thought I would break it. It's fun and when you top it out and let off the throttle it kinda sounds like a little turbo spooling down because the fan pushes such high rpms. Get one if u see it (gray is the best one)
I am not sure why every company stopped making midsize trail/ sporty atvs. Everything is either a tiny 50-90cc, a whimpy 250cc or something crazy like a 800cc or 1,000cc. Miss the days we had these atvs around plus the Scrambler 500, we don’t all want crazy huge and heavy trail quads like anything from Polaris or Can-Am.
erik pollnowAgreed 100% and well put. You dont want a 1000 cc 800 lb atv with a big drop or steep climb. Gravity will not be your friend. Bad things will happen. Thanks for watching.
I've bought two used Yamaha 450 Wolverine 4x4 2007's. (Think it's the same engine as the Kodiaks) Had them for almost 2 years. One had 1700 Miles. The other had 2100 Miles. Paid $2,400 for one with a plow and Winch. And the other was $2,600. They've both been great machines. Heavy front end for climbing well. And good engine compression for downhills without riding the breaks too hard.
I would love to have one of these as a second quad. I have a Grizzly 700 but would like a second one for friends and family, I would even ride this and let them ride the grizzly. I like how it still has lots of bottom end despite being a cvt and see you crawling with it. There is one for sale near where I live. You have my mouth watering lol.
Good review and I agree Yamaha should have never got rid of the Wolverine sport quads. They are getting hard to find along with plastics. I have an 2006 450 and a 2007 450 special edition, fun to play on.
I'm trying to find a winch mount and plow for my 09. Can anyone help? I'm having issues finding a match for winch mount. Looks like warn makes a plow that will fit.
The problem with this quad was that it was not what people wanted. It's really no different than a 350 Bruin except it came with the Grizzly 450 motor. The biggest advantage it had over the original 350 Wolverine was part time 4WD. That was a huge feature and only available on the aftermarket for the older 350 model. Otherwise it was a disappointment as it was 40 lbs heavier, featured less suspension travel and had an auto trans. They never sold well and is why production ended after only 3 years.
chroniclounge mc Sorry Im not sure. I had mine for about 4 years. I bought it with 300 miles and put around 700 miles on it. It probably needed a valve adjustment when I sold it (didnt want to idle when ot got warm) but still had the same power and good compression.
The first few minutes are from Richland Trail between Boone and Lenoir, NC but it is closed off now. Most of the 2nd half are from Brown Mountain OHV near Collettsville, NC.
Good to know! I just traded for a 350 a few days ago that needs some engine work and Im excited to see how it does. I appreciate the feedback and was wondering how different it would be. I like the idea of it being lighter w/about the same performance.

That is awesome! Glad to hear someone was smart enough to keep theirs. Really is a great quad.
Bought mine in 07 and 14 years later still a great play and work quad. Normal minimum maintenance and they last forever. Good review bud
Thanks man! And congratulations on being smart enough to keep yours.
Great review for a great bike I bought mine new in 06 and it's the best bike I have owned!
joe estes Thanks for watching! I was always amazed at how capable and fun to ride they are. Glad to hear you were smarter than me and kept yours.

Got a 2007 with 1000 miles. Still runs like its brand new 17 years later!
Nice!

I like your video, I converted my kodiak 700 into a sport quad 4x4 inspired by the wolverine 4x4.
Thanks. Nice! What mods did you do? The Kodiaks and Grizzlys are really well made atvs.

Really fun and easy to ride machine, nice video!
Thanks! Agreed 100%
Got plenty of pulling power too. Had to pull a SxS when it threw a belt and it had no problem.
Nice. I pulled a 5x7 trailer with firewood many times. Thanks for watching.
Just saw a pristine one a few months back. I didn’t need it but still had a hard time not buying it.
I wish it was still in the Yamaha line up.
Ross Martin I understand! There is a hole in the lineup now for sure. 500 ccs with power steering would be perfect IMO. Thanks for watching.
The guy at 3:00 seems like a good technical rider. I bet he’s cool to hang with.
Mike Sain i heard he likes to consume alcohol in prohibited areas.
I had a 2006 and I loved it
i had the 350 with the manual gear box .thank for video ill be trying to find the 350 as i hate my CVT ATV i have now just hate that hum box trans
Thanks! Good luck.

Haha. They are a lot of fun. And clean ones are hard to find. Good luck!
Use one of these at my job doing stucco, we pull a cart with around 500lb in it no problem.
Nice!
Solid review!!
Thanks!

Love ours. But the starter switch seems to be a week spot...

I had one once. Wish I hadn't sold it.
Same here.
Made me want a Wolverine 😂
Thanks!
How do you add the tow ball?
The little triangle you mounted the tow ball on was a factory extra. Not sure if you can still find them. I would check eBay.
I have the same bike can you tell me what tires are good for it
Miine had GBC Grim Reaper 6 ply tires all around and they were great.
Just got one how do I check hours I see the kms
You should be sble to toggle through the display screen with one of the two buttons. One toggles and the other resets the trip odometer.
Are these hard to rebuild??

What park are y’all riding at?

@@FunGoingFast thanks
I have a 350 and a 450 and the only thing the 450 has over the 350 is top speed I prefer the 350 over the 450 any Dat

@@FunGoingFast I just like manual over automatic always have especially when you have a 4x4 and that 350 is litterally indestructible
Any one have a seat they would sell?
By the looks of this video, the suspension looks about as soft as a radio flyer wagon.
Haha. It actually does ok unless you try to really get some air, then its easily overloaded. Definitely not Elkas.
