My buddys dad used to always say "nice TC" to chicks unbeknownst to them he was referring to their turd cutter.
Cool dad
@@ak2112 Warm mom
That’s super cute
He sounds like he’s not allowed within 500 feet of a school
Sports car is a very generous term when applied here.
They’re sport compacts. I’ve been DD’ing one since Jan 2021 and I’ve never once considered her a “sports car”
It's really just a stretched "hot" hatch. Maybe a warm hatch lol
Dude wasn’t Scion the equivalent to Gm’s Saturn? A manufacturer that was aimed at young whipper snappers.
Except it found most success with older people looking for affordable compacts with high rooflines (in the case of the xb)
Saturn was for young people?
@@agileapollo it was supposed to be, because GM saw the success Japanese MFGs were having with youngsters back then but it backfired then on a non negative way by appealing to middle aged desk jockeys instead.
@@baronvonslambertthanks for repping the real Saturn story. They were incredible in the early years, the fall from grace only happened when all of their ideas were absorbed or quashed by the rest of GM. Saturn on its own was awesome.
Saturn was a different kind of car company. Their first ad is burned into my brain. Respect for what they did for affordable transportation. I'd rock a wagon for $500 👌
"these cars are never gonna become collectable" "man i miss scion" i can smell it coming
the first xb has potential
Toyota boys will be loving these cars for a good long time
@@DrRyan82994the 1st gen supercharged trd tCs will be too no doubt and you already know frs in good condition are gonna be the next 240
Collectible? Nah, but a first gen XB is a car you never get rid of, kinda like my 1st gen RAV4, worthless to others but the best car you own
@@nathanchildress5596 man i had a 1st gen rav4 5 speed and a 1st gen tC 5 speed and you are correct. best cars ill ever own to be honest
Banger Episode. The best part of the TC was the panoramic roof and the reclining rear seats, so when you rolled it you could launch your friends out the back in spite of them having their seatbelts on
This is the first comment to make me laugh today.
Oh Scions, the terrorizers of my alumni parking lot in 2019. How I miss them...
I use to have an 06 Scion TC, with bolt ons, and a big turbo. Pushing 290hp and 240 torque, but see it weighed 2600lbs. It was a blast to drive, made alot of people salty, until someone rear ended it...
That’s fair, it’s not cringe when you build the motor
Are we talking about cars?
i had an 08 5speed with several of the trd interior options and it had like 178k miles and never had a single mechanical issue ever. i put falken azenis rtk615k+ tires on it and just drove the ever loving shit out of it till a guy in a fuckin ford tarus pushed me out of my lane and i rear ended someone and it fucked up the frame. amazing cars i should have bought it from insurance it was still totally driveable but the headlight mount and radiator rail was all fucked up. i miss it so bad
@@Mr.SeanCombsor just keep em stock and drive the fuck out of em. too many ppl ricing these out
Feel like TC's are the civics from the early 2010's we all ripped a new one on ppl driving em but they're actually not that bad.
I think some TCs actually look cool, and are good daily drivers, though I'd never go out of my way to own one unless I got a ludacris low-milage deal.
How much Ludacris sellin Scion's for?
@@OwO---0bamasPersonalChef---OwO 3 Cents
@@OwO---0bamasPersonalChef---OwO It's a special edition model signed by him that comes with a special speaker and subwoofer system. There are only 100 of those so it sells for a premium.

i love sky-on brother!
Ofc you watch ccf
@@swayyingAll the cool kids do. 😎
The factory head units do look aftermarket. It's pretty cool, actually. Scion really made a great effort at trying to understand what the younger crowd wanted.
Plenty of room for activities. My rear seats were basically a biohazard
My rear seats were never up💀 when I bought it and figured out they can do that they IMMEDIATELY AND INDEFINITELY went flat down. Made hauling things a breeze
@collectorcarfeed Tell netgear that we're twins. New Mexico, military, brown, and handsome af
Bro you're netgear56. 58 was that yellow alien guy from lilo and stitch
Perfect refined taste in anime?
And G@¥
You can put a camshaft from the hybrid version on these motors and make 280hp.
😮
so uh heh heh definitely not tc owner, whered you hear this??
We talking first gen?
We had the super charger on display the moment the first gen TCs came out and NO ONE bought them. We never put one on in my entire decade of being there.
18:31 Missed the "Powered by B*tchdust" sticker in the Disney font. Really ties it all together
You can get a car with all glass from windshield to trunk, auto up and down windows, reliable slow motor for 2k and a great nontoxic community with tc's at least 🤷🏻♂️. I feel like only "cool cars" are drift taxed or coomer supras and unobtanium idk I had a RHD turbo sw20 and still went back to the tc1 😂
Exactly bro. Been DD’ing a tc1 going on 4 years now
I think I’ve seen almost every video twice or more than twice already, those cards against humanity uploads are gold
Simple man. I watch CCF, then drew peacock, then nerve gaming, then play battlefield 4 🗿
Bro BF4 is the goat still to this day. I can never get tired of that game.
As someone who's owned 2 2000-2005 Toyota Celica's, they are the most unreliable engines Toyota has ever stuffed into a car. I'm a fan of Yamaha, but they DID NOT produce great engines for the GT and GTS
The Scion tc was what the corolla of the time was supposed to be, the xa is actually pretty cool too, it looks bad ass with the rear doors completely deleted. Makes it a 2 door hatchback like it should’ve been.
Scion tc prices after this video 📈📈📈
Been wanting an Scion xB for awhile ngl, the first gen. Second gen, or ig the "face-lift" looked absolutely atrocious my god.
i wish i could add a pic of my 08. the 1st gens if they were in good shape looked pretty solid for what they are. ill stand by these cars for the rest of my life.
Scion samplers were dope. The days of quality show swag...
I didn’t know anyone else was aware of the scion cds, LA auto show had so many great custom Scions and always a ton of cds. The sounds of my childhood
Scion TC ( Tinnitus Car )
The seats look like they would be in a hotel lmao
the cuck chair
Ex-wife had a Scion TC when we were in college. It was actually a pretty cool car back in the day. I wouldn't call it a sports car but it was a sporty 2 door car. It felt surprisingly quick for the hp number but only up to like 50-60mph. I'm assuming the first few gears were lower and closer than your typical 4 door 4 banger and made it feel more peppy than the hp figures and 1/4 mile times suggest. Perfect car for a female college student imo.
I saw these TCs before release at a prelaunch in Summer of 03 around Tampa. These cars were super nice for what they were trying to be at the time. I had a Prelude at the time. These weren't a Prelude, but for the $ they commanded for a new car, it was enticing at the time. These things were everywhere for a time. I rarely see one now. And when I do it's been well ridden. But it still runs. Always liked the brand. Especially the xB and the TC.
I felt like the Scion TC was suppose to be the next Toyota Celica, but because they were pushing the Scion brand at that time, it was called the Scion TC.
The 2az fe burns a ton of oil. We used to call them toyato roll coalas
the 2.5 is a lot better
I miss my 2011 Scion TC, I drove that engine hard with no issues. Was a chick magnet too. 😄
I still remember when I saw a video back in 2013 of one of these roasting a BRZ.
Man I miss the no fear logo on a old
Beater
I had a 2.5 gen and always got roasted for how aggressive it looked while being mad slow so I'd never drive it and I would opt to drive my first gen instead because the windows were one touch up and down while the one 10 years newer had less features. The one thing I'd like to add to tc's are auto climate control.
I have a 2nd the things i would change would be a hydraulic steering rack and cooled seats
The first car I bought new was the third tC in Atlanta. I get the reputation of these being abused by every weeb in the world but I actually really loved to drive in this car. Had good handling, a good manual to learn on, and I had a lot of trips on backroads just enjoying "sporty" driving.
I always liked how the 2nd gen TC's looked. When I was looking for a reliable car (I have three projects because I'm an idiot) the Release Series 10 was my number one pic. A modern fun, reliable, economical, manual and decent looking daily is harder to find than you think. The RS 10 actually looks pretty sick.
I had a first gen scion tC as my first car, it was a great little car and was great for learning to drive manaul on, I bought it with a little over 300,000 miles on it, it started out ok but let me tell you she started burning oil like crazy, eventually she would burn half her oil supply in about 2 hours of driving, lol still awesome little cars
I was a lot boy at Toyota in 03-04 and this kid brought in his new Celica GT-S. Completely painted the huge dash white. The worst thing Ive seen to this day.
Helped a friend install lambo doors on his turbo'd TC, that thing was nothing but a slow dude magnet.
Went to a bunch of Scikotics club car shows, which were always hosted by dealers. I do like that Toyota actually tried to make a tuner/culture community with Scion and supported it.
watching this with my italian roommate and also in the room without headphones
4:00 That came from the heart.
The 11-16 tc seats are comfy af. Multiple cross country trips in those seats.
I have the same Scion tC since I was 19. I’m 31 now. It’s been a great car
I had an 06 tC. I paid $16,000 for it brand new. It came with a decent fit it’s time 160hp engine, 4 wheel abs, 4 when disc brakes, power windows, power mirrors, dual moon roof, side mirror turn signal, mp3 cd stereo, 17” alloy wheels… Toyota reliability.
It never pretended to be a sports car. It was a good commuter car that felt solid.
I lost it in 2010 when an illegal alien slammed into it.
$16,000 with all the features I mentioned from other manufacturers? Not going to happen. I should say nobody came close to the value that car brought.
the Scion TC only holds a place in my heart because i would constantly pick it as a starting car in Midnight Club 3
I loved my XB...a truly unique and versatile car. But the TC never made much sense to me as it was too heavy...the 2.4 was ok but it was 3k pounds. The XB was only 2400! The rest of the scion models were nothing special at all. Unfortunately, scion tried too hard to distance itself from Toyota...as a salesman told me that most people had no idea who made scions and thus viewed them as a risky buy.
Can't wait for that Honda Odyssey Type R.
I actually know someone who has one of those orange and black TCs. Always thought it was a cheap paint job. Wild that theres multiple of them.
shit honestly that red tc2 was a good deal, manual too. I drove to Montana years ago to buy one exactly like that and the wop shop that did the ppi didn’t bother to mention 3rd gear was fucked. Longest fucking drive, 20 hours round trip and had to cancel the check and shit
There is a supercharged scion up by Chicago for like 5 grand with finder flairs
Do one on the acura tsx
And am one of the few mechanics who owns an 07 Tc with an extra engine I'm going to rebuild then rebuild the engine that's coming out lol
I learned to drive stick in a first gen tc and I think they are one of the best first cars to get. Easiest car to learn to drive manual and cheap asf. My tc never burnt oil so maybe I got an anomaly but for 2-3k they are fun. They also have a surprising amount of torque for a 4 cyl. especially from that era.
I've been eyeing my neighbor's mint Xb for the past few years here in Georgia. He thinks I'm joking but that thing would be perfect as a second or third car.
We really need a documentary style video on that MR2.
Say what you want, this was the best starter car in Racing Rivals
what you want
I'll tell you what I want... what I really really want.
I drove mine into a wrangler on 35’s. Was a good car while it lasted.
For something that is worthless they sure as expensive as hell in my country.
7:12 is it “Young & Black” by Kendrick Lamar?
“I gets my ride on, you ride too
But like Scion, now that's a damn shame”
coming from someone who used to work at toyota back then trd stuff or trims was kinda rare but nowadays they got a trd for everything except for the rolla and i think either the rav 4 or highlander i remember one of them came into the shop and it was a trd i think it was definitely a newer rav 4 then they also have the trd pro’s
I got pulled over in my gfs Tc on a road trip and the cop would have arrested me for speeding but the town was so small they didn't have a jail. 107 in a 35... I had just come off highway into speedtrap.. Epic ticket costed more than the vacation😂😂😂
Yea my buddy got an XD with the pioneer system from factory and they gave him a cd. He rly wasn’t into music. Was kinda a scientist kinda dude who I sold mass amounts of herb to
I'm from Wappingers falls lmao
All the 06-10 2.4L has issues with oiling. Should have had a 5qt oil pan Like the Chevy 2.5L in the 2015+ Colorado.
You won't find the engines in the junkyard, they are $1600 for a referb engine.
80mph was 4000 rpm. Way too low of gearing with the 5 speed. Only thing was unless you put front and rear sway bars and some good struts, you'll not need more than the 127mph limit anyways.
Scion TC was 16,500-18,000 MSRP back then GREAT PRICE NEW
Scion XB was 14-15k MSRP
Scion XA was 13K MSRP
before even commenting and looking at the thumbnail:
scion
I tried to buy two XB's and two TC's over the last 3 months I was car hunting and none of the sellers would even respond.
These sellers are ridiculous.
12:24 - Yup; I knew this video would go in “THE BIN”……..
But in all “SERIOUSNESS” that is a “PRETTY IMPRESSIVE”
“GARBAGE MONSTER”…..
22:24 - It’s “TOO MUCH” for where “ I LIVE”
Me - What is wrong with “THE WIRING” in your brains….
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So didn't know much about cars at the time and I got ripped off at a buy here pay here place (didn't know much about those places also) and I told myself I just wanted a 2door it was between a 2013 scion tc or a 2017 hyudai veloster. And I want you to guess which one I got...
Side note for red flags were
Mileage, cracked front bumper, cracked side panel and a few dents. And I want you to also guess how much I'm paying and still paying on it
considering buying a manual one of these as a ""sporty"" reliable daily. it's just a camry that looks a little better
i would avoid the first gen because the engine has piston ring problems
If I had a dollar for every time some kid in a scion tried to race me in my MR2 I'd have a bunch of dollars.
I love my TC2 still 💯
Need more aftermarket love though 😅
I test drove a TC and was very surprised at how much NVH they had.
im so sad thease were never sold here in the europe
I actually liked scion. I almost got one. But they always were over priced, looked plaatic cheap and didnt look like a good investment but the Toyota mechanic was appealing.
As an Italion. I approbv
So the 2.4-liter engine, WITH a supercharger, makes similar power to my naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine? And it's considered a "sports" car?
They have good/decent handling, they can really zip through corners and turns on a dime. But to really call it a sports car, I don't think so. I think they were actually called sporty commuter's or a sporty coupe, something like those
Scions division was literally made to appeal to youths and children. Basically people getting their first cars 😅
The good thing about Scion TC's is
I just did suspension work on my buddiess 2010 tc lol
I’ve had a second gen for 10 years it’s my first car. Super reliable but ride quality is stiff asf.
A Hyundai Sonata would probably be a more eventful "sports car" than a freaking Scion lol
The Saturn SC2 of the late '00s/early '10s
They burn oil. The A/C in the 1st gen was extremely under powered.
Words can’t describe how slow these are especially with automatics. One of the most gutless cars I’ve ever driven.
yall never even commented that the 1st gens atleast had a big ass sunroof and a moon roof
Ive got a deep hatred on Scion Tcs and Mazda 3s. Why? IDK they just piss me of
I hate when people compare the scion tc with the scion frs. it’s more fair to compare it to cars like the Hyundai veloster and Honda civic because that’s what it was competing against
Honestly if anyone is ricing a TC, they're doing it because of Midnight Club 3
What do you call a what ???
i miss my 08 so bad. it was bone ass stock and drove like it was new
God I hate the tC’s enormous f150 doors
Scion iq's are the dope smart car. Not quite a cygnet, but pretty dope.
the supercharged tCs are so fucking rare
Yay, TC content!
These are great cars very reliable.
I miss my tc
Ford ST are sick.
Is there going to be a collector Scion down the road?
The 6 speed manual iM. It's like a Corolla of the same gen but with IRS. It's slow, but still an upgrade from a regular Corolla with better options and handling.
