I've won a few fly casting contests, and those of you who have posted that there isn't any distance on any casts in this video miss the whole point of the video. Klaus casts around obstacles (see 1:54 and other points in the video), he's able to get quck effective FISHABLE casts out even with no backcast room, quickly change directions, etc.The point is to show what is achievable and what a person can do with a fly rod. I think this video is magic, and I've watched it again and again to learn from it. Those who are dissing this video should look past the surface and look at the substance and nuances in this casting video and learn a thing or two. Awesome video, Klaus Frimor and Marc Crapo! I hope you post more!!
@@MrAndrewholde Maybe - just maybe - if the kid were name Steve Rajeff. Jr. You're not seeing the little nuances; the quick load in the air with a short snake roll, an effortless 90 degree change of direction cast, underhanded casts, equally effortless aerial mends...this guy is a master at line control.
I remember some years ago watching Leon Chandler from Cortland Line Company cast a line in a similar fashion. He traveled often and would do it for show, but he was also a fine fisherman and one of the nicest people you would ever meet.
Sr. Frimor, toda mi admiración para ustedes, la verdad es genial lo que hace con el lanzado, en ello seguro que lleva muchas horas y toma su tiempo. gracias por compartir. saludos desde España.
Hello Klaus, I am your big fan. I know that this is a video from 2015 and the rod and line you use now is propably not the one from the video. What rod and line setup would you recommend currently to work together in such a fashion
Some of it is "useless" line tricks as some have said but alot of it I would love to be able to do... think about it; instead of having to do 2 false casts to dry your fly a quick snake roll or whatever he calls it will do the same thing without having to backcast into the bank and I would love to be able to curve a cast around a log or root ball like he was doing around the camera tripod.

Klaus can also cast rediculous distance I attended a 2 handed class he had local and needles to say he can absolutely throw more line than most.
I've never even seen someone do this up close and don't even fish conventional method. I can tell this guy is a wiz. that's amazing technique.
Point taken but a 10 year old boy could role that out there without the drama?

Krause is an artist with a fly rod and line ! Marvelous and so much fun to watch. I do those casts and several more. So much fun !
Jim Truscott how long are those cast? What distance is it? Line weight, rod length?
Wonderful! When you guys have time, please, post some more.
It's like watching the Harlem GlobeTrotters of flycasting!

I love this . I want to be able to do this someday with my casting

Incredible! I've seen Klaus' tutorials on 2 hand Skandi. Would love to see some on single hand Skandi! His right arm isn't working hard at all!
Easy stuff just playing around
The curve cast was good

conwnc10 All the naysayers could learn something from watching Casts That Catch Fish. This is a useful demonstration.
That’s incredible. I know it’s not the reason for this level of control but does anybody know what equipment he’s using?
Controlled casts of tailing loops. I do that when I am feeling playful.
Where they find this dude at wringling brothers hes good
Магия... ))
That's cool, but how many fish did he catch? 😄
Unreal, you gotta love it.....except for the hater.
