If there is no oil in the engine. You should never turn the engine on. Could just be the bottom of the sump has corroded, can be replaced. @@davidjohnson5369 thanks for your empathic message!! Not all of our dosh has been thrown inside the van.. we were doing what we could and showed the van to three separate garages for inspections with suspect noise, NONE of them noticed the 3 bolts loose on the steering fluid pump which took our alternator belt when it loosened, which subsequently we had the money for. We also paid for regular services, our insurance, living etc and were on the CUSP of getting out on the road & taking up work opportunities we’d both been cooking up. But now we’ve gotta get this done, and yes I’ll admit, the timing is ruddy awful, we didn’t expect a £6-8,000 engine replacement on an 150k mile engine where it seems a random rod went and pierced a hole in the block. Not anything that could be prevented, the mechanics say. On top of that, it’s clear to see that both myself and SJ in our separate videos are at pain with asking for donations, because we recognise that it could appear we’ve been short-sighted and not prepared for this ‘freak’ scenario.
