Well that's because Kishimoto wasn't interested in romantic relationships with his 3 characters, we don't see any requited romance, hinata was in love with Naruto but he didn't show interest, same with sakura and Sasuke it's obvious he was forced to write the marriage for boruto, novels and stuff were written by other people, Kishimoto gave us a sakura crying and begging for Sasuke's love and Sasuke saying he wasn't interested
Naruto the Last Movie covered how Naruto realized he was in love with Hinata, it was obvious that Hinata fell in love with Naruto when he saved her from the bullies who were harassing her about her eyes, every time she saw him it was in her expressions and actions.
Sasuke realized he has a down ass chick that sees the good in him, even when he didn't see it himself. He loved her the whole time and just didn't want to see it.

In itachi retsuden, Sasuke told Itachi that he was interested by a girl with green eyes and pink hair. If you look well, he was always ready to protect her all the time. Sakura has always been loyal and loved him whatever he wanted to do. Sasuke tried to kill her because he wanted revenge before everything and Sakura was his weakness. I guess after the war and everything he apologized (only to her) and an opportunity to get it right this time.
When did he ever tell Itachi ?? There is no Itachi retsuden . Yes , he was there to protect both of his teammates, and tried to kill both later on. There is nothing special. The only explanation is , they actually started dating after becoming grown adults .

I’m so glad you made this video, man. It’s funny bc even when I was younger watching the anime, I always felt Sasuke & Sakura would end up together from the whole Chunin Exams arc especially when he broke dude’s arm because he roughed Sakura up. There was a lot things we were shown even with what was cut out bc ppl deep down probably just didn’t want to recognize the pairing.

Because sasuke had spent much of his life alone harboring feeling of hatred ,and revenge it would be probably when he was in prison after the fourth great ninja war. The first time he have shown down , step back ,and reassess his life during this time he probably had another of time to consider his feelings about what he felt about the people close to him. At thar time Naruto, and sakura were pretty much all he had left other than team taka ,who he never was close to as he was to team 7.
it had stages but the hatred took alot of those feelings away. Like in Naruto part 1 he protected Sakura by twisting the other guys hand (Sasuke with curse seal). Or the fact that he thanked Sakura for caring the moment he left the village. Thereafter comes a period of hatred. But during kaguya fight he hold her after she saved him. If he hated her, he could have dropped her. After the big fight he said his sorry. I think he loved her out of guilt. He never showed real love but did gestures..

It is crazy how reading manga ending for naruto took me about 6 hours. And anime episodes made it about 30 hours. Just by repeating part of previous episodes to extend screen time. But things like details between Naruto and Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke still did not had a place in the show.

When i started naruto like a decade and more ago💀 i was never seriously into the ships i cared more about the story but i did like sasuke and sakura. Maybe because i am female and was younger so i didn't mock sakura like most instead i cheered her on. Also i was a shoujo romance fan so maybe that's why..lol They had a lot of nice moments of development in classic naruto that's why people ship them so much. They got close during that period, many want to deny it but the manga is right there. When i became an adult and checked back up on naruto, I was really happy to hear sasuke was saved and made a family together with sakura. It seemed like a great ending to me. And then i got into the fandom to enjoy them as a couple.

I hate her cos she lied to naruto that she loves him. That was the most uncomfortable scene I've ever seen in anime. Another reason i hate her is cos she sabotaged the team to go and "kill" sasuke which she can never do it alone, legit the most stupidest decision and she got herself in danger and naruto needs to save her ass.
5. People who don't believe that you should be in a romantic relationship with someone who attempted to murder you 3x, despite how they feel about you. Sakura never had self-respect. I don't hate either of them, and I feel for Sasuke's struggles and trauma, but some things don't get 4th chances. Best character development for Sakura would've been turning Sasuke down or at least demanding more than a 2 minute date on a bench (boruto reference) from him before even considering a non platonic relationship with him.

Great analysis,would like to add that in a way Sakura almost paralleled with Sasuke in that Sasuke was doing to her what his brother did to him by keeping him at a distance(all the while loving him). Sasuke felt powerless as a child in regards to Itachi's actions the same was true for Sakura for him. Sasuke in a way was inadvertently following his brothers example of trying to take on the burden by himself alone. Sakura's love for him(and him for her)would have made it hard for him to go down that dark path. Hence the you're annoying quote which changed each time he said it and had a different meaning when he used it. Probably why he did the head poke at the end to her,and the reason it held so much meaning for him to do it to her was because he could see the parallel. Also the American dub didn't help peoples attitudes towards them,as the American voice actors were not privy to the end game pairings. Kishi was quoted as telling the Japanese voice actors for Sasuke,Sakura,and Naruto what would be the end parings at the start of the anime. Why the Japanese dub is superior in many ways.
Thank you When I watch the anime of Naruto for the first time I hated Sakura because his feelings for Sasuke doesn't make sense (for other reasons but this was the main one) and I hated Sakura for years because of this After seeing the differences between the manga and the anime I realized that all the reasons on the why I hated her come from the anime exclusively. I feel really betray by the anime for this reason but at least I like Sakura now😅😅😅
Not a huge Naruto fan, didn't watched the anime, just read the manga and some novels. I never understood why Sakura was hated while everyone claimed Hinata was a better and more interesting character. In the original series Sakura is always there for Naruto and Sasuke, one way or another, but Hinata only appears a handful of times and barely does anything. I'm catching up with the story since I don't follow Boruto, but it's nice to see that Sakura is finally getting the respect she deserves
People liked Hinata, not just because she was a love interest, but also because she stood out as really the only docile and non-aggressive female character with a real backstory and hidden potential. Sakura and Ino were just normal girls that liked a guy and faced some petty bullies, Tenten has literally no backstory, but Hinata had to face the trials of being accepted by her own family and pressured to be the head of it, along with being temporarily disowned by her father and kidnapped to use for ransom as a young child. She had alot of story potential on her own with the most to prove and lose, but it wasn't fleshed out as much as it should have been and the growth people were expecting wasnt handled as well since she wasn't a main character.

I read everything way before watching the anime, and started hating that Naruto wouldn't be loved by the girl he always liked but was really important for me as a child to learn things don't always go our way
Characters like Sasuke, the ice cold character, need moments where the audience can see their humanity. They don't have to be secretly kind, but there needs to be a person underneath their persona. Sasuke is motivated by revenge, but he's still a normal person. He has friends, there's a girl that makes his heart flutter, and wants to be better, and not showing that, not appreciating that is problematic for his character. It makes him into the monster he thinks he needs to be while never showing the audience the dramatic irony of why he's wrong. Just dumb on the anime's part.

They didn't exactly highlight it, but if I'm being honest they showed subtle hints of when sasuke started to care or how their feelings began to build up. If every encounter is read well enough its actually shows the subtle hints of sasuke's feelings, even way before naruto shippuden. It sort of just reveals that even if sasuke may be somewhat aware of how much he cares for sakura, he is way to focused on his ambition to kill itachi, not letting him express it or realize how far it goes either. So i think it just may not have been that clear, but their love story was written in between the growth of naruto and hinata's relationship. It just wasn't highlighted as much i suppose, which is somewhat unfair tbh.
The manga vs anime differences are so true. I recently started reading narutos manga and the amount of scenes where its very obvious sasukes feelings for sakura that they changed or just didnt show in the anime shocked me. In the manga its waaaay more obvious that he likes her, and its actually annoying that they cutted it so much in the anime, but i kinda understand why they did it. There's even a few scenes where sasuke is shown being jealous when sakura looks at naruto very foundly, like he was actually jealous that she admired naruto for a bit XD so yeah, i understand why they didnt put that in the anime, maybe its cause they were afraid that it would change the cold hearted "dont give a fuck" personality that sasuke has.

People also forget that Western and Eastern affection is displayed differently. We expect flowery confessions and passionate kisses and that's not how a lot of Eastern cultures are. They seem to show affection through deed and care, not really using flowery overly sweet words and showy romance we in the West are used to. Mind you, i am no expert so forgive me and please respectfully and kindly correct me if i am wrong
I love Sasuke and Sakura but I wish they did have a couple of kids. It’s not fair that Naruto and Hinata have two kids and Sakura and Sasuke only have one. Don’t get me wrong I love Sarada Uchiha she is my favorite character among the new generation but come one we need more uchiha babies. Thanks for the video.
It's not that I love it...it just has the most material...yes Naruto and Hinata got a movie, but....Sasuke and Sakura got a novel centered around them, a manga adaptation of that novel, an anime adaption of that novel, and their relationship was a core part of the naruto retsuden novel.
Sasuke and Sakura is arguably the only Naruto pairing that made sense. I love Naruhina but there were way too many signs throughout the series that they would be paired up, even in the anime. They were just so subtle that many people didn't catch it. Even with the "Sasuke's an abuser" memes, they forgot that: - Sasuke had a lot of issues to work out due to his family and clan being unalived - He spent most of his life trying to unalive his own brother - He tries to unalive Naruto (his other brother) multiple times - Despite this the only times he tried unaliving Sakura was when she tried to do the same thing to him. Even in the war arc, he knew knocking her out with genjutsu wouldn't really effect her (she just gets knocked out and then sometime later she wakes up like nothing happened).
To me, and to probably others, it's a fault of Kishimoto or Shueisha of not really fleshing out couples within the manga. Shin Towada, Tomohito Ōsaki, and others, should get credit for expanding upon Sasuke and Sakura. I'm paraphrasing here, but if I recall correctly, Kishimoto himself said that he himself wasn't confident when it came to romance. There are some couples which I wish we had answers to, like "How did Choji and Karui get together?" Of course, this may have been answered already in one of the novels or in Boruto: NG.
Kishimoto didn't really plan for things when he first started the manga, He was lost. And his editors keep interfering. The ninja world was the editor's idea. The chunin exams was the editor's idea. Kishimoto wanted team 7 to go on another mission but was forced to draw the chunin exams. Sakuras first confession wasn't done by kishimoto The only thing he had planned in the beginning was Naruto would like ramen. No pairings were planned in the beginning. Naruhina Was decided and sealed midway prob after the pain arc because hinata was already liked by many And her Popularity skyrocketed after the filler moments against pain in the anime And obviously Sakura was hated by many. There's interviews where kishi contradicts himself when asked: if NH was a early stage setup or not When asked did you decide this early on that Naruto and hinata to get together kishi said the middle actually then when asked again he said It was decided on in the very early stages of the story so which one is it ? If kishimoto wasn't sexist Narusaku would've happened but according to him a girl can't move on from her fangirlish crush cuz if she did it would make her a terrible woman He also mentioned that there was a time he really thought of making Narusaku but never mentioned when

I can never understand why sakura loved sasuke as much as she did, even now rewatching the anime. I do have a way better understanding of sasuke of how much of a well written character he was. While sasuke life been a whole life, i don't see how sakura could really relate or even connect to it. Maybe she has insecurites and thought he was a perfect guy to fill that role but the love was something that felt off to me. Boruto made the relationship better but i just felt like sasuke was just her achievement or a trophy then actual love

I’m so glad you made this video, man. It’s funny bc even when I was younger watching the anime, I always felt Sasuke & Sakura would end up together from the whole Chunin Exams arc especially when he broke dude’s arm because he roughed Sakura up. There was a lot things we were shown even with what was cut out bc ppl deep down probably just didn’t want to recognize the pairing.
My first episode of Naruto was when he woke up from the curse mark and her running to hug him. I knew they were end game❤

Why do you think it took Sasuke so long to come to grips with his feelings for Sakura?
He never did. The writers forced them together when they realized they were doing the Boruto series and needed new gen characters.
Because sasuke had spent much of his life alone harboring feeling of hatred ,and revenge it would be probably when he was in prison after the fourth great ninja war. The first time he have shown down , step back ,and reassess his life during this time he probably had another of time to consider his feelings about what he felt about the people close to him. At thar time Naruto, and sakura were pretty much all he had left other than team taka ,who he never was close to as he was to team 7.

Like in Naruto part 1 he protected Sakura by twisting the other guys hand (Sasuke with curse seal). Or the fact that he thanked Sakura for caring the moment he left the village.
Thereafter comes a period of hatred. But during kaguya fight he hold her after she saved him. If he hated her, he could have dropped her. After the big fight he said his sorry.
I think he loved her out of guilt. He never showed real love but did gestures..

It is crazy how reading manga ending for naruto took me about 6 hours. And anime episodes made it about 30 hours. Just by repeating part of previous episodes to extend screen time. But things like details between Naruto and Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke still did not had a place in the show.

When i started naruto like a decade and more ago💀 i was never seriously into the ships i cared more about the story but i did like sasuke and sakura. Maybe because i am female and was younger so i didn't mock sakura like most instead i cheered her on. Also i was a shoujo romance fan so maybe that's why..lol They had a lot of nice moments of development in classic naruto that's why people ship them so much. They got close during that period, many want to deny it but the manga is right there. When i became an adult and checked back up on naruto, I was really happy to hear sasuke was saved and made a family together with sakura. It seemed like a great ending to me. And then i got into the fandom to enjoy them as a couple.

I hate her cos she lied to naruto that she loves him. That was the most uncomfortable scene I've ever seen in anime. 5. People who don't believe that you should be in a romantic relationship with someone who attempted to murder you 3x, despite how they feel about you. Sakura never had self-respect. I don't hate either of them, and I feel for Sasuke's struggles and trauma, but some things don't get 4th chances. Best character development for Sakura would've been turning Sasuke down or at least demanding more than a 2 minute date on a bench (boruto reference) from him before even considering a non platonic relationship with him.

Great analysis,would like to add that in a way Sakura almost paralleled with Sasuke in that Sasuke was doing to her what his brother did to him by keeping him at a distance(all the while loving him). Sasuke felt powerless as a child in regards to Itachi's actions the same was true for Sakura for him. Sasuke in a way was inadvertently following his brothers example of trying to take on the burden by himself alone. Sakura's love for him(and him for her)would have made it hard for him to go down that dark path. Hence the you're annoying quote which changed each time he said it and had a different meaning when he used it. Probably why he did the head poke at the end to her,and the reason it held so much meaning for him to do it to her was because he could see the parallel. Also the American dub didn't help peoples attitudes towards them,as the American voice actors were not privy to the end game pairings. Kishi was quoted as telling the Japanese voice actors for Sasuke,Sakura,and Naruto what would be the end parings at the start of the anime. Why the Japanese dub is superior in many ways.

When I watch the anime of Naruto for the first time I hated Sakura because his feelings for Sasuke doesn't make sense (for other reasons but this was the main one) and I hated Sakura for years because of this
After seeing the differences between the manga and the anime I realized that all the reasons on the why I hated her come from the anime exclusively. I feel really betray by the anime for this reason but at least I like Sakura now😅😅😅

Not a huge Naruto fan, didn't watched the anime, just read the manga and some novels. I never understood why Sakura was hated while everyone claimed Hinata was a better and more interesting character. In the original series Sakura is always there for Naruto and Sasuke, one way or another, but Hinata only appears a handful of times and barely does anything.
I'm catching up with the story since I don't follow Boruto, but it's nice to see that Sakura is finally getting the respect she deserves

People liked Hinata, not just because she was a love interest, but also because she stood out as really the only docile and non-aggressive female character with a real backstory and hidden potential. Sakura and Ino were just normal girls that liked a guy and faced some petty bullies, Tenten has literally no backstory, but Hinata had to face the trials of being accepted by her own family and pressured to be the head of it, along with being temporarily disowned by her father and kidnapped to use for ransom as a young child. She had alot of story potential on her own with the most to prove and lose, but it wasn't fleshed out as much as it should have been and the growth people were expecting wasnt handled as well since she wasn't a main character.

Characters like Sasuke, the ice cold character, need moments where the audience can see their humanity. They don't have to be secretly kind, but there needs to be a person underneath their persona. Sasuke is motivated by revenge, but he's still a normal person. He has friends, there's a girl that makes his heart flutter, and wants to be better, and not showing that, not appreciating that is problematic for his character. It makes him into the monster he thinks he needs to be while never showing the audience the dramatic irony of why he's wrong. Just dumb on the anime's part.

It took time to Sasuke to realize his fellings for Sakura and to cinfece to her.
They didn't exactly highlight it, but if I'm being honest they showed subtle hints of when sasuke started to care or how their feelings began to build up. If every encounter is read well enough its actually shows the subtle hints of sasuke's feelings, even way before naruto shippuden. It sort of just reveals that even if sasuke may be somewhat aware of how much he cares for sakura, he is way to focused on his ambition to kill itachi, not letting him express it or realize how far it goes either. So i think it just may not have been that clear, but their love story was written in between the growth of naruto and hinata's relationship. It just wasn't highlighted as much i suppose, which is somewhat unfair tbh.

The manga vs anime differences are so true. I recently started reading narutos manga and the amount of scenes where its very obvious sasukes feelings for sakura that they changed or just didnt show in the anime shocked me. In the manga its waaaay more obvious that he likes her, and its actually annoying that they cutted it so much in the anime, but i kinda understand why they did it. There's even a few scenes where sasuke is shown being jealous when sakura looks at naruto very foundly, like he was actually jealous that she admired naruto for a bit XD so yeah, i understand why they didnt put that in the anime, maybe its cause they were afraid that it would change the cold hearted "dont give a fuck" personality that sasuke has.

The anime did a subpar job adapting the light novels. They really left out Sakura's moments.
People also forget that Western and Eastern affection is displayed differently. We expect flowery confessions and passionate kisses and that's not how a lot of Eastern cultures are. They seem to show affection through deed and care, not really using flowery overly sweet words and showy romance we in the West are used to.

It's not that I love it...it just has the most material...yes Naruto and Hinata got a movie, but....Sasuke and Sakura got a novel centered around them, a manga adaptation of that novel, an anime adaption of that novel, and their relationship was a core part of the naruto retsuden novel.

Sasuke and Sakura is arguably the only Naruto pairing that made sense. I love Naruhina but there were way too many signs throughout the series that they would be paired up, even in the anime. They were just so subtle that many people didn't catch it. Even with the "Sasuke's an abuser" memes, they forgot that:
- Sasuke had a lot of issues to work out due to his family and clan being unalived
- He spent most of his life trying to unalive his own brother
- He tries to unalive Naruto (his other brother) multiple times
- Despite this the only times he tried unaliving Sakura was when she tried to do the same thing to him. Even in the war arc, he knew knocking her out with genjutsu wouldn't really effect her (she just gets knocked out and then sometime later she wakes up like nothing happened).
Sasukeさん probably saw the parallels between Sakura and his はは Uchiha Mikoto.

To me, and to probably others, it's a fault of Kishimoto or Shueisha of not really fleshing out couples within the manga. Shin Towada, Tomohito Ōsaki, and others, should get credit for expanding upon Sasuke and Sakura.
I'm paraphrasing here, but if I recall correctly, Kishimoto himself said that he himself wasn't confident when it came to romance. There are some couples which I wish we had answers to, like "How did Choji and Karui get together?" Of course, this may have been answered already in one of the novels or in Boruto: NG.

Kishimoto didn't really plan for things when he first started the manga, He was lost. And his editors keep interfering. The ninja world was the editor's idea. The chunin exams was the editor's idea. Kishimoto wanted team 7 to go on another mission but was forced to draw the chunin exams. Sakuras first confession wasn't done by kishimoto The only thing he had planned in the beginning was Naruto would like ramen. No pairings were planned in the beginning.
Naruhina Was decided and sealed midway prob after the pain arc because hinata was already liked by many And her Popularity skyrocketed after the filler moments against pain in the anime And obviously Sakura was hated by many.
There's interviews where kishi contradicts himself when asked: if NH was a early stage setup or not
When asked did you decide this early on that Naruto and hinata to get together kishi said the middle actually then when asked again he said It was decided on in the very early stages of the story so which one is it ?

I can never understand why sakura loved sasuke as much as she did, even now rewatching the anime. I do have a way better understanding of sasuke of how much of a well written character he was. While sasuke life been a whole life, i don't see how sakura could really relate or even connect to it. Maybe she has insecurites and thought he was a perfect guy to fill that role but the love was something that felt off to me.
