If it is the same amp, player, etc., by turning the right knobs I believe that these pedals are close enough to sound close enough you definitely can't tell the difference on UA-cam and most of the time in person. No doubt there are people out there that can hear the difference but I'm talking about normal people. J.S. you can only sound as good as you are.

understand this: every amp or OD pedal characteristic is a certain combination of: - compression - EQ - clipping By arranging these in a certain order and quality/intensity you can get everything from a Marshall plexi to a Vox AC30 to every OD and distortion pedal on the planet.

You have had ample time and the Josh Scott Stamp if Approval for you to go out and get one. It is a great ts, for me it was between that and an eqd plumes. The allure of switching diodes was too tempting so I now have the latter. Maybe check that out too, they're still being made in Akron for $99.
And there definitely IS . Behringer sold those for an average of $23 USD and while cheap and plastic , they did stack up and meet or exceed expectations
I CLEARLY hear a monumental shift in the 25.893 / 25.894 hz region. Besides that the Bad Monkey defenitly boosts 27.461 hz, while the klon completely wiped the floor with its pristine 36.281 hz boost. Thanks for this very clear comparison.

You can make them sound different but you can also make them sound identical. But yet my blues breaker does not sound anything like my Timmy. And neither sounds anything like my tube screamer. I bought my klon for $150 used in the 90s. I traded it for a 1970 marshall super lead half stack and a 50 watt small box plexi reissue a few years ago. I really liked the klon but I LOVE the Marshalls. I think I did an ok trade.
All I know it made me go out and buy all the modellers, got a helix stomp xl, Tonex, and an FM9, now I got em All, no more jhs or other pedals for me, Thank you. I was going to buy a Jhs PackRat, but decided Modelling was a much better way to go.
Why do I get the feeling he’s making the Klon sound like the Bad Monkey and not the other way around. You don’t see the Klon’s gain set that high. It’s sweet spot that makes it sound so good is for the gain to be set around 1:00-2:00.

I have a Bad Monkey. It’s a great sounding pedal. I use it as a clean preamp, sometimes going right into the house. Then I split it to a floor wedge.
