  • This is the evolution of iPhone charging ports. The Apple iPhone is one of the most popular and innovative smartphones in the world, and the evolution of the iPhone is downright impressive. But do you know how the charging port of this device has evolved from the first iPhone released in 2007 to the latest iPhone, the iPhone 15? In this video, we'll explore the history and changes the iPhone's charging port has undergone, as well as the reasons and benefits behind them.
We'll see how the iPhone went from a massive 30-pin port to a smaller, faster, and more versatile Lightning port. But also how Apple introduced MagSafe technology and the newest charging port on an iPhone, USB-C.
All iPhone 15 models have switched to the USB-C port, which is the universal standard for most gadgets today. However, not all iPhone 15 models have the same type of USB-C. Watch the video until the end and you will find out what the speeds are actually offered by each charging port model, but especially USB-C.

It’s crazy how so many phones are incompatible with one charger.

Yes MAJOR FAIL on Apple's part first taking so long to bring the USB Type C IEC 62680-1-3 connector to the iPhone and other product lines. After all the USB-2 standard that is now running over the USB Type C connector on the Apple iPhone 15 was introduced January 1996, 28 years ago. This is ancient in technology years, and a failure on Apple's part to "Think Different".
Now we come to what again is a MAJOR FAIL on Apple's part when it comes to the iPhone 15 and its move to the USB Type C IEC 62680-1-3 connector. The USB4 standard should have been implemented on both the Apple iPhone15, and Apple iPhone 15 Pro product lines. Then to make it a true "Pro" model Apple needs to implement all of the optional choices in the USB4 standard. That way it would be a true professional device to be used in production.
