Have to agree, what a great year. There are at least twenty albums that I like enough to have in my rock top ten but today I'll go with: 1. Toto - Isolation 2. White Sister - S/T 3. Survivor - Vital Signs 4. Tommy Shaw - Girls With Guns 5. REO Speedwagon - Wheels Are Turnin' 6. Barclay James Harvest - Victims Of Circumstance 7. Dan Fogelberg - Windows & Walls 8. Van Stephenson - Righteous Anger 9. Billy Satellite - S/T 10. W.A.S.P. - S/T
TVC top 10 lists are always a good watch... 1. Rush - Grace Under Pressure 2. Van Halen - 1984 3. Metallica - Ride the Lightning 4. Y&T - In Rock We Trust 5. Stevie Ray Vaughan - Couldn't Stand the Weather 6. Dio - The Last in Line 7. Dokken - Tooth and Nail 8. Sammy Hagar - VOA 9. Ratt - Out of the Cellar 10. Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Most assuredly not at all what the general consensus would say were among the Top 10 of 1984 but for ME, these were the albums I spun the most that year and they have all remained in frequent rotation ever since. 1) Piledriver - Metal Inquisition 2) Wrathchild - Stakk Attakk 3) Mercyful Fate - Don't Break The Oath 4) Dio - The Last In Line 4) Judas Priest - Defenders Of The Faith 5) W.A.S.P. - W.A.S.P. 6) TT Quick - TT Quick 7) Twisted Sister -Stay Hungry 8) Black 'n' Blue - Black 'n' Blue 9) Madam X - We Reserve The Right To Rock 10) Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus
Albums I consider perfect from 1984 by Metal Church/Scandal/Wasp/The Cars/Metallica..and even more unique were all the albums with one dud on each IMO >>Van Halen/Laura Branigan/Prince + The Revolution/Znowhite/Anthrax/Judas Priest/Survivor/Go Gos/Agnostic Front/Ratt/WhiteSnake/Black Flag/Armored Saint, etc.

Metallica-Ride The Lightning, Iron Maiden-Powerslave, Marillion-Fugazi, Bon Jovi, Ratt-Out Of The Cellar, Van Halen-1984, Rush-Grace Under Pressure, Dokken-Tooth And Nail, Toto-Isolation, and Prince-Purple Rain. Prince was an awesome guitarist. I got the Ratt box set that BMG put out. I wish that it came with that cover. Will, what's your favorite Ratt album? Matt, Nick Luany(not Nick Egan) produced The Swing. Darryl Hall from Hall & Oates sings backing vocals on Original Sin. Does anyone have the 40th anniversary of the Bon Jovi cd? For some reason, that album reminds me of Loverboy
Dancing Undercover with Detonator close behind. I think I’ve said before that Ratt has one of the most perfect discographies so there’s not really a WRONG choice
@@willluimes8254 interesting. I would have to say that Reach For The Sky is one of my favorites. I like that it was produced(somewhat) by Mike Stone. I enjoy his engineering and production work with Queen, Journey, and Asia
Fanatic episode and what a tremendous year in HR/HM.
Awesome show guys!!! I loved seeing Triumph- Thunder Seven mentioned, let alone as a #1!!! ⭐️⭐️🎶🎶
Great job everyone. What a killer year in metal/rock/pop

Ahh of course! Haha I am so bad with remembering names.
@GoNorthDesign it happens. Nick did some stuff with Hugh Padgham, like engineering Face Value. He also worked with Killing Joke
