Wow, imagine my surprise when you went through the whole gift box and even read my note! (This is Lynn) I know the beer was pretty high test, glad you liked it! I’ve been ill for a couple days and this made my day. Thanks again Pete and everyone at SoT!
Brilliant show 👍 SOT ❤️ and don't ever forget how important SOT was during the pandemic, you did an amazing job for everyone that loves music 🎶 thank you uk 🇬🇧 conection ❤
Another awesome afternoon here in. NJ USA 🇺🇸 with the trio. I lined up exactly with Pete on the two favorites and the wildcard. I admit, i do not know every single album , however that last 2021 is really really good. Thanks guys for your time 👍💯
Favorites: Keeper of the Seven Keys part 2, Keeper of the Seven Keys part 1 Least Favorites: 7 Sinners, Unarmed - Best of 25th Anniversary Wild card: Live in the UK, the first metal album I've heard. Plus Walls of Jericho, one of the best debut albums ever. Pink Bubbles Go Ape is really great. Very underrated album. I also like Chameleon which is much better than most albums with Deris.
I wish I could play along in the correct way, but I have yet to own (or hear) all the albums from Helloween's catalogue. Of them, Walls of Jericho is my favorite - that was clear from the start. I love the two 'Keeper' albums (with the second part getting the edge), and outings like Better Than Raw and the s/t from 2021 are fantastic. I was cracking up hysterically when watching both Pete and Steven react to Simon's go-to pick. Great show, guys.
I'm a defender of "Pink Bubbles Go Ape". People forget the fantastic B-side with three of my favourite songs by Helloween. "Someone's Crying", "Mankind" and the fantastic song "The Chance".
One of the all time classic metal bands. My faves , Keeper of the seven keys 2, Master of the rings. Least ones, Rabbits come easy, Chameleon. Wild card , Better than raw, The dark ride. And I have to say, that at the time this is aired I will be enjoying some Paulaner and Erdinger beer in our local hard rock metal bar.
As always another awesome episode with Pete and the UK Guys Steven and Simon with the favorite and least favorite of Helloween Merry Christmas Everyone.🎄🎶🎤🎸🎸🎹🥁🎶🎄
Great show as always gents. I am not the biggest Helloween fan, I only have the tow "Keepers" albums, so I guess they must be my favourites ! 😁 I will have to check out the latest one since it got such an endorsement, and, given Uncle Simon's recommendation, it must be past time to listen to the infamous "Pink Bubbles Go Ape"!
Favorite: Keeper Part I, The Time of the Oath Least Favorite: Rabbit Don't Come Easy, My God-Given Right Wild Card: The Dark Ride (The chorus to "If I Could Fly" is an all-timer for me)
Thanks so MUCH 🎉🎉🎉 for this show! Will be one of my all time favourites! I ❤ #Helloween and it's been such an enjoyable hour listening to you all pick and discuss their music! I'm with Simon - Pink Bubbles 🫧 is ALSO one of my top 2 FAVES (not best).... it's such a joyous, positive, concise record and has so many stellar songs. I love Mankind, Someone's crying, Going home, Kids, The chance.... and their most recent self-titled album IS STELLAR! Ace to see it getting lots of love. I've been playing that so much in the last 12 months! ❤ 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃❤
Highly entertaining show as always, even for someone who's never listened to any Helloween in his life! Do enjoy Michael Kiske's contributions to Avantasia tho, so guess I'll take their last few albums as my 'favourite wildcards' (see Uncle Simon, I can cheat too!!) :D
"Keeper of the Seven Keys part.1" and "Time of the Oath" for me are the essential Helloween albums. The best with Kiske and the other one with Deris. Even the artwork matches 🙂
To be fair not a helloween fan but it was a good and as usual very funny episode. Cheers guys. Now geres a thought. I am a massive maiden and sabbath fan. How about you speak about the people behind the band. The late very great martin birch. Can you do a fave least fave wild card or maybe a did martin birch do that??. He has made a great contribution and yeah be interesting if that could be done. P.S have steven read the maiden book run to the hills. Cos it does explain why maiden vecame a six piece band with guitar players ah well i shall look forward to the 2024 review show in 2 weeks. Have a great xmas. Darren from glasgow. 🏴🤘🎹🎸🥁😃🤘
I absolutely love chameleon haha. Possibly my favorite after the first 4 Including the EP. Always did. It was definitely a weird turn though. After the initial shock, I really got into it. I like the first 4 Deris albums but nowhere near as much as the Kiske era. I left them after that until the Helloween album in 2021. Great album.
I recall from interviews that "hamsters" was a comment on hair metal. Bubbles is pretty good, but the album cover is bizarre! Favs - the ones I most often play: Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I (1987) - pretty much the blueprint for Euro PM, and imo sliiightly better than Part II The Dark Ride (2000) - the darker theme is such a great fit for Andi's vocals, and the title track is massive Least favs - by no means bad, I don't think there's a bad studio album in the catalogue. But I did drift apart, for some time, from the band after these two: Straight Out Of Hell (2013) and My God-Given Right (2015) Wildcard: Rabbit Don't Come Easy (2003) - With Roland and Uli gone, what would happen? Would there be another gloomy album? Quite the opposite! Rabbit has some of the happiest songs of the discography, and is just a fun and easy listen
I'm not a huge power metal fan but I love Helloween, was fortunate enough to watch them for the first time at the Pumpkins United show, Keeper of the Seven Keys might be top 5 of best European Heavy metal albums and perhaps the best heavy metal album to come out of continental Europe! Also love Pink Cream 69, the hard rock band where Andi Deris used to sing, always thought of them as the German Skid Row. Steven what are your thought's on The Wildhearts' new song "Failure is the Mother of Sucess"? hell of a song, by the way, I recall you owning the Sick of Drugs single, does it happen to be listed if CJ performs on those songs (specially Underkill)? Thank you lads.
Truthfully, the new Wildhearts track sounds like a cut and paste of previous Ginger ideas to me. For a variety of reasons I have zero excitement for this new release or version of 'The Wildhearts'. My Sick Of Drugs single is the version with the 'grass' sleeve so it has no credits of who actually plays on it - I don't think any version does from memory. I'd need to re-read Songs & Words to be sure but I think those tracks are Ginger only on guitar but I might be wrong.
Great UK Connection. I found it difficult to choose anything really, as I really liked Bubbles and Chameleon (Dream Theater without the really twiddley bits anyone?). The 2021 album is brilliant (possibly a fave). I didn't bother with the non original material albums. So even though I own everything upto Chameleon, the 2021 album and Time of the Oath, The Dark Ride and Straight Out of Hell. I was only really familiar with the first three albums. There really are not any bad albums, but how many times did they rewrite Eagle Fly Free when Andy joined the band?
I agree with Stephen that Dark Ride really is an excellent album. Big fan of that one. And as Pete says, I like Better Than Raw even more than Dark Ride! Keeper 1 and 2 are awesome - hard to top those two. Totally disagree with Simon and Stephen on Chameleon, there are a few duds on it sure, but it has one of the greatest tunes they ever did - "Giants." "First Time," the opener is an excellent tune, "Step Out of Hell" is another excellent tune. There are other solid tunes on there.
If we are talking about favorites, then it's: The Dark Ride and Keeper II. Dark Ride for me is the most complete and I love it all the way through. Least favorite - Pink Bubble and Chameleon. Although the latter is much better then former. Music is an amazing song. Wild card - Better than raw. Push is one of the best Helloween song.
For wild card i am pulling a Catino 😂😂😂. 7 Sinners Gambling With The Devil Tbh I don't have a least favourite, only that I play some more than others. If i had to pick favourite, Helloween Keepers part 1 although I tend to listen to both 1 then 2😂😂😂😂😂
Halloween passed me by until maybe 4 years ago,a d when I started listening to them didn’t expect to like them because of the power metal label as I don’t like Power metal.Using Pete’s ranking gave them a try and thought they are just a metal band really in the Maiden Priest mould. Coming at the catalogue fresh my favourites Helloween self titled,Master of the rings Least, Pink bubbles go ape, Chameleon Wildcard wnen I saw the cover thought tis will be terrible, but quite liked Rabbit don’t come easy.
Big Helloween fan her, they're actually my 2nd favorite band. Regarding the best and worst albums by them: Not going to be original, but "Keeper II" and "Keeper I" on this order are my favorites. As to my least favorites, "My God-Given Right" and the only really bad album by them i.m.o., "Unnarmed". Regarding PBGA and Chameleon i have a different opinion, i think these 2 are good albums, but with 3 or 4 bad songs that unfortunately bring the average quality down.
Favorites: Keeper of the Seven Keys part 2 & Master of the Rings Least favorite: Pink Bubble go Ape & My God Give Right Wildcards: Chameleon 😊 and The Dark Ride
I don't drink or like Helloween, but I'll be watching. 🤘🏼 I'd like to see an all Swedish AOR episode in the new year, which includes 220 Volt, Easy Action, and Europe.
It finally happened lol: Favorite: Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2, Walls Of Jericho Least favorite: Keeper of the Seven Keys: Legacy Pink Bubbles Goes Ape Wild card: The Dark Ride, Helloween EP AND LP

Thanks again Lynn!
That was a lovely touch to send some hot sauce, tea, T Shirt and beer. Fab.
10.5% wow! Thats Belgian strength. My Belgian buddy, Johann, often brings back some killer ales from his homeland.
UK Connection - still the best viewing on whole of UA-cam! Guaran(damn)teed

Perfect timing. I have just been finishing collecting all their albums. They are currently non stop playing in my car.
New live album is amazing.

I left Helloween after the uninspired Pink Bubbles… but recently discovered Chameleon… what an amazing album!! Absolutely underrated.

Many thanks lads, always a fun time.
I love this show and Helloween are a pretty damn good band!
I love the UK Connection. But not familiar with Helloween, so I watched the beer discussion - and it was awesome!

Love Steven's face whilst Simon is extolling the virtues of Pink Bubbles 😅😅 Keeper 1 is my no 1, the latest release is very good agree.

Stephen I'm an idiot to 😂lol.
Got all versions of My God Given Right earbook etc most signed saw them at Festival in Germany when it came out 😂
I never really got into Helloween, although I did buy Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part I when it was released in 1987. But now I'm curious...
If we are talking about favorites, then it's: The Dark Ride and Keeper II.
Dark Ride for me is the most complete and I love it all the way through.

Chameleon is just great. In my top 3
Rich Catino should've been here
Rich and I already did a Helloween show together a while back.
We asked Rich to move to The UK for the show but he declined.
@@TranquilityFireReid Just say he's from Jersey. No one will ever know.

@@TranquilityFireReid Very much so! Thank you!
Chameleon tome is a powerful creative hard rock. Good melodies. Very well recorded. Pink Bubbles is much worse.
