Most of these songs were some of Gojira's quieter songs. I feel that that is one of the things they do so well, balancing the quiet and loud, heavy and melodic. And the ones that weren't so quiet like L'Enfant Sauvage translated perfectly into acoustic. Born in Winter was beautiful too, such an amazing song.
this is such a gem in so many ways. the fact that you're going really really old school is just a testament to how much you appreciate this band and giving it the acoustic tribute it deserves. and of course, it sounds amazing! GIMME MORE!
I played Double Bass for school orchestra and Drums in a metal band. The guitar is a different beast. I love nylon classical and have had the most luck at learning it. Maybe it can help you to get the wider neck, my friends who play acoustic or electric don't like it because cords are harder to hit but its easier to learn scales and such.
I wonder if Gojira will ever release an acoustic album. The melody is there and Magma was softer than their previous albums, so they might get there in a few more albums. I'll miss heavy Gojira if they do that, but they would put out a great album either way.
The silver chord has life’s mystery and wonder embodied deep within, along with born in winter ❄️ u are ace btw, great expression of beauty through sadness.
I keep coming back to your acoustic videos every day since discovering them last week. There is something magical about them for me. I'm going through something right now, and your beautiful artistry is bringing me solace. Thank you so so much!!!
i keep coming back for a visit. gojira is my favorite band and acoustic gojira is so beautiful to listen to. i just bought a guitar because of this video!
@@amjan no, I've just met some really stupid people (in their late teens/early 20s, since you asked), we're talking the kind that consider AC/DC to "aggressive"
I really love this video, it's perfect. I've always preferred classical guitars over acoustic ones. Mandragora is gonna live in my head rent-free for at least the next two weeks. In The Forest really sets the atmosphere perfectly, it makes me feel like I'm walking through the forest/bushes at night while raindrops are falling, about to start a heavy rain. Born In Winter is my favourite song. Overall, 12/10.
This, is really amazing ! I love when you've striked the match or when you've carressed the cords, it's a so good idea ! I've checked your others videos, and I really appreciate how you're playing !
I'm begging you, do entire covers, it really makes me fall asleep and I could never get my girlfriend sleep to normal Gojira as I do. But this... Oh my this, it's heaven
Beautiful , otherworldly , I stopped by again after seeing you play the 12 string acoustic I watched and then subscribed. I live in seattle have been playing guitar since I was 12 , I'm 58 now grew up in 70s 80s music Rock metal put my gear away for 20 years then purchased a six string and 2 , 12 string guitars . My approach to playing them is different than the norm to many years playing electric guitar .... so I was drawn of into your sound as if awake in a dream . Thank you Gojira

In awe by 1990 quatrillions de tonnes...progressing to tears with born in winter. That was well deserved to be put on earth, thanks for playing this line-up!
I haven't played in any lower tunings in several months and this video made me break out a guitar that hasn't been touched in too long AND go learn some Gojira. Thanks for the 2am motivation! It was just what I needed while I fight off the COVID ✌
Have not really listened to Gojira so I don't know what the originals sound like but these renditions are lovely and serene - great work! They remind me of a band called Musk Ox, if anyone else wants more music that sounds like this.
Can I just say that this was absolutely beautiful? I always saw acoustic versions as the lesser brothers of their originals, because they are missing the big sound. After seeing this video, I came to realize, that acoustics miss the loudness and sheer energy, but that they are bringing calmness and serenity.

Saw this, skipped to the song and ended up crying in the bus 😂
I love that little smile inn the beginning of Born of Winter that just says, "I've tried recording this 6 times, and this is the one"
