Wow, so much simpler than I had been told. I've read that you pull out the crown and fit an air hose to push out the crystal with air pressure. Your method is far less cool but much more sensible :)
Hi , Love the video. When you install the bezel back on, how do you go about fitting that retention ring back in? Do you fit it into the groove and then just place bezel on top?
Hi, I have an original seiko mm300 empty case with bezel and crystal. What i need is the movement. But it costs 900€ here in germany. A few times i've thought about it to put an nh movement in. Maybe with the movement holder from the proxima mm300?!? When the inner measurements be the same maybe it works? Have you tried this before or experience with it? Best regards
I just, finally, ordered a sterile dial version. Will be opening to insure that it has the specified NH35 and not a Seagull or Chinese ETA movement. Where can I find a Seiko to SII movement interchange list?
@@JDLUDE I have a 6309-8888 that has a non-repairable movement, but I wanted something better than a 7s26 movement. The MM300 is a sterile San Martin that is supposed to have the NH35. Which is fine for what I ordered it for.
Thanks for the great, informative video! I'm finding the bezel on this hard to remove because it's fitted so tightly. Do you have any advice for that? I haven't done any bezel removals before.
Do 4 o'clock dial legs fit the movement holder? Also, could you do a bezel re-install as this is a unique bezel and spring? Did you previously remove the chapter ring?
Yes as this is a 4 o'clock case. The bezel reinstall is pretty straight forward just put the spring in the hole and on the notches on the bottom of the bezel. Turn it counterclockwise while pressing down and it should snap into place. If you have Instagram I can do a little video for you. Yes I removed the original chapter ring as it won't work with this dial.
Thank you again for the great video and responsiveness. Subscribed to your channel. I am just noting that no chapter ring has been installed... Is that right? So did you remove the original proxima chapter ring and then install the Sumo dial without any chapter ring? And, last but not least, do the pins/feet of the Sumo dial perfectly match the movement?
Awesome thank you! I appreciate that. Correct I removed the proxima chapter ring as it won’t work with the sumo dial. And yes the dial feet line up perfectly so no need to worry about cutting the dial feet.
@@JDLUDE Hey, great informative video, I have one question regarding the chapter ring. If there is no chapter ring between the dial and crystal, is there any chance that the dial can lift up off the movement because there is little room?
Since you said that the original proxima chapter ring does not work on the Sumo dial, did you try to use a genuine Sumo chapter ring (once the Sumo dial was installed on the proxima case)?
Hmm my bezel comes off super easy, I can basically pop it off with out any tool if I wanted too. My black PVD version was a bit harder to remove. Which tool are you using? Do my black one I had to use the slimmest tool and work my way around the bezel till it finally came loose.
@@JDLUDE Thanks for you reply! Before this i was using the same pry tool you're using, but not from Seiko. Anyways, i got it open by turn-and-pull using finger cots. I was pretty surprised.
You made it so simple, I first thought it would be so hard to do it
That's what I thought too, it's super simple. My black version was a little harder to get off.
Thanks for this. Much appreciated. Beginning modder here and this was helpful as I gain confidence in this hobby. Thanks.
That's cool. I have been wondering about this for some time. Especially since purchasing my San Martin MM. thanks.
Thank you for making this video. Well presented, clear and concise tutorial. Exactly what I'd been hoping for. :)
Awesome I'm glad you enjoyed it! I need to make more "how to" videos

Thank you for this amazing video, I was trying to lift the crystal holder instead of unscrewing it. Very informative.
Thank you.
Wtf men!!🤪
Are you making experiment with 3000$watch😳😳
I don't believe that you didn't research before you proceed
@@panosvrionis8548 what?
How do you put the wire for the bezel back together
could you made tutorial video how to open and swap movement on addiesdive or steeldive mm300 homage.
Very Good work thank for the video, do you fix the Seiko also ?
Where can i get that metal psacer?
Does an original MM300 case also open clockwise?

If you bought a proxima it will have a NH35. Heimdallr has the seagull or eta movement. What are you changing?

@@JDLUDE my heimdallr mm has nh35...
Very nice video i was always wondering how its open , btw is it possible to use the Seiko OEM part in the Proxima such as the bracket dial etc ?
Thanks for the great, informative video! I'm finding the bezel on this hard to remove because it's fitted so tightly. Do you have any advice for that? I haven't done any bezel removals before.
My PVD black mm300 bezel was tighter but with the right tools I was able to remove it. Just make sure you have a thin enough bezel remover.
Very helpful video, thanks!!
I wasn't able to remove the crown because i didn't have a small enough screw and just went on to swap the dial without removing the whole movement
Hey that works too! glad you were able to swap the dial.

Sumo chapter ring is even bigger. Sadly you can not use one at all unless you Machine the case.
To put the bezel again in the case, do you need any special tool or can it be pressed by hands?
It can be pressed on by hand
@@JDLUDE thank you!!
I am desperately looking for a Sumo dial but it seems impossible to find. Do you have any advice?
You can use any dial! Doesn’t have to be a sumo dial. Try looking on eBay or watchpartsplaza
Great video! may i know what Seiko dial will fit on a Proxima MM300? Is that an original Sumo dial? Thanks in advance!😊
Any seiko dial that is 28.5mm and yes it is a sumo dial.
@@JDLUDE thank you so much! 😁
Wow fantastic video! Thank you!
Can you put a 7c movement in the tuna versions
Yes you can! Just have to swap out the black movement holder for a gray one.
@@JDLUDE cheers, something to consider 👍

Once the crystal is off, is it possible to remove the dial without taking out the movement from the case?
Thank you
Yes it is possible and some have done so. Just remove the hands and swap the dial. Just have to be extra careful that way.
@@JDLUDE thank you very much :-) Why do you say I have to be extra careful in that way? Is there any additional danger?
Well the movement is still in the case and might be difficult to swap everything over. Just saying to be careful is all.
Is that a bronze monocoque case I see in the top right?
It's actually a OSC PVD gold skx case
My SBDX017 has a problem.
The date does not change on 12am. It changes at around 5am.
What can possibly cause this to happen?
Was it always like that? They might have installed the hand set with the date change at 5am
Hi, can i use 7s26/nh36 mod parts for mm300 homage? The one that’s available in my country is heimdallr sharkmaster v2.. wdyt? Thanks
I would say get a proxima as they use a NH35 already. The Heimdallr uses a different movement so an NH35 wont fit unless you modify it.
Nice video, thanks!
thanks for share. Now I understand it.
Awesome I'm glad!
Good tutorial mate 🙂 oh and also can you tell me where did you get the seiko mm300 dial please ? Cuz this watch is a proxima hommage right ?
It's a Seiko monster SRP307 dial
@@JDLUDE where did you get the hour markers for the srp307 dial?

@@JDLUDE no, you mentioned you used SRP309 dial. The lume hours of srp309 look totally different from the one in the video.
