Thank you for saying this because people think that Africa just like any other continent is going to be a bed of roses 🌹 but unfortunately roses have thorns too. I currently have land and rented out property in West Africa. I just keep to myself most times and move in silence 🤐 the same way I did in Amerikkka. The times we live in are too evil and growing up in the projects as a child has scarred me for life and I don't trust anyone at this point. As a woman who has visited several African countries, I warn ladies specifically. Misogyny is the standard. Even in countries where they say they respect women, you are still at the mercy of another man. There is no police to call for immediate assistance like in the West. There is no public welfare and there are not enough jobs to go around. Even if you do luck out and get a job, there is no employment protection. You would even be lucky if the job you are working at pays you enough to make a living. It's normal for people to make a minimum wage of less than $50 a month, meanwhile rent alone is at least over $100. Keep in mind that jobs are usually available in the main cities. Most of the country is still made up of small towns and villages. The cities are only a small portion and cannot employ a massive population which means the job market is so competitive it is almost non existent for many people. Corruption is rampant and there aren't laws being enforced to truly protect you. If you get sick, don't expect modern healthcare without paying top dollar. Even then the services provided are limited. There are no housing loans, housing vouchers, food stamps...no government assistance whatsoever. If you fall onto hard times, you are on your own. There is no such thing as fairness and equality. The laws don't work the same. Even if the law exists, it doesn't mean that it will be enforced because there isn't anyone to enforce it. What rules in Africa is money and nepotism. It is all about who you know, who likes you, and what sacrifice you had to make to get there. Unless you meet an individual who takes a liking to you, no one really cares and I don't know how else to explain that. Here in America, we are practically given all these things for free. Some people live well in Africa but it's a small percentage compared to the majority who are scraping or doing whatever to survive.

It's a terrible tragedy how we are destroyed worldwide. Poverty is the universal horror. As black peoples we are trained to smite one another, but it's the same in the States, city to city, state to state. We must use wisdom to move smoothly. And we should not travel to unknown destinations alone. And we should never expect life thru rose colored lenses.

We are the only people trying to move alone. We should be moving and living as a community. There are some countries that make it easier to move to our start businesses. It does depend on where we go in Africa. Also we as BW do have to keep in mind where we go, as well as, if we have money. Gambia and Ghana are terrible places to go as a single BW. I see so many BW going there only to be so on guard but I get it, these countries are cheap, staying in a hood country cuz its cheap is not my idea of paradise but to each its own. Rwanda, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia maybe very strong choices and increase quality of life for BW. TZ is up and coming lots to invest in on a larger scale. If a person has wealth to invest and knows about Finance and accounting, no way they would be dealing with people on these uneducated scales trying to invest(do business) with them. Financially and Educated people will have a better understanding on doing their due diligence. It all depends on the level you are on and what you are willing to accept/deal with. TZ is cool but no way Im mixing any business with people that need money day to day. I have to do business with people that have some education, money, and virtue about themselves. I've been to the South African region and am planning on moving permanently, I just am not about struggle politics when it comes to my well being. You bring the struggle, I cut you off. Go to where people are like minded and invest in places with those like minded people.
Best comment. I think most of us get so blinded by the promise of paradise and acceptance that we leave common sense out. No matter where we go we are foreigners and will be treated as such. And this is not even a black and white thing this is a nationality thing. If I ain't doing business with bums in the US I def. won't do it with poor people abroad for the savior effect. We have to be real. I have lived in 13 countries, people are people.
In my opinion, in places like Tanzania, I would only invest in planting the Word of God in people's hearts or serving inna non - profit capacity. South Africa is a country safer to do business in.
It's all over. I'm from Guyana and it's the same. Every time I visit people want to take advantage of me and try to rip me off especially when they know I'm coming from the West they assume I have money. On the other hand some people are very helpful and they won't ask you for anything. I visited Turkey and it's exactly the same way, some people will try you and some are amazing human beings. You gonna see duality where ever you go, just be open minded and don't take things too personally.
You have a very healthy and inspiring perspective. I love how you’re able to take any negative situation and reframe it in a way that is productive and helpful to both yourself and others. Continue to do the amazing things you do.❤
When I lived in Ethiopia, I made a decision not to live in the village until I spoke the language fluently. Because of this, I did not run into those kind of people, I met persons who wanted to do business with me, often wanting to move fast; but they understand entrepreneurship and my language. Untortunately, I had to leave after a few years to deal with family issues in the West, but when I return I will stay in the suburbs of the cities until I am fluent.

Thank you for your transparency. I too often hold a romanticized vision of the Motherland and its people. Even with your experience though you explain the reasons why some of our African brothers and sisters think the way they do (dire poverty) yet you haven't given up on Africa. With the continent of Africa blessed with so many resources there is no reason, other than weak and corrupt leadership, why people should live in poverty. Hopefully, with Africa currently having the world's largest number of people under age 20, this and upcoming generations will no longer accept the status quo and demand better governance and a higher standard of living.
I spent 2 years on the continent, east and south, and as a single lady I met so many smooth operators who wanted to marry me quick and in a hurry but that was just one of the issues to watch out for. Also look out for other Americans there who are land scamming or trying to sell horrible property. Thank God I didn't fall for either one. Go with a monthly income if you can. UA-cam channels don't pay enough for you to live on...Finally what I love about Africa is the peace of mind. The peace just sweeps through you soon after you arrive!!! And yes most people there treat you like royalty...
That is why I'm waiting on God to move me... it's what he said because it's corrupted now our father has to clean things back up and then he will bring his children back to the land which he promised 😊
I experienced that low poverty mindset in the Dominican Republic. It's draining and you can't move ahead with people who want to stay stagnant. Also, black Americans need to remember Africans still see us as foreigners...an ATM machine. There is no utopia for blacks to escape racism and combine it with foreignism, that makes it worse living abroad.
Shalom king!! Nice break down on Africa, I'm inspired to come... Over 400yrs. colonized an enslaved. Reuniting back together reminds me of the movie color purple & Django
@gam1267, you’re living in a fantasy world. I want you to think back to a time in your past, when you had preconceived ideas of what a certain event or connection w/a person or relative would be like & it turned out nothing like you fantasize it would be like. The complete opposite.
Good info brother…yeah “cow cash” thing is right and most African they got that kind of mentality. I’m glad that you did not discouraged while you go thru the storm. Keep going wish you more success.
I believe the "poverty mindset" has always been by design. For decades the blackman (be it African or African American) have been put down and considered less privileged, lazy, uneducated, not creative.. The list goes on. All these things break people and affect their character. The only way to adress the poverty mindset and low level energy is educating people and giving them a way out. I think its high time we should learn from other races and how they operate.
Originally all black people were in Africa. Not sure why y’all are so invested in spreading other misinformation. Constantly “correcting” people while being wrong.

One of the few people telling the truth about the realities being an expat. Most of what people claim about the ease of relocating to places like Africa are not telling you the entire story.
Let me tell y’all(AAs) planning to move to Africa the easiest way to do that. Try to make friends with or build connections with some Africans on the continent. I mean genuine friendship/connections with genuine people. Drop all that I’m better than you or better than them mentality in America if you’re planning on moving to Africa. Make as much friends as you can in Africa first before leaving America for Africa.
We don't even have that mentality. I fail to see where yall get that notion from because we never once said that we were better. We have only ever showed how proud we are of how fare we've come. Why is our pride in who we are such an offense to yall?
U explain it so will, i am a African living in the USA they when we go back home they see us like money tree 🌳 and everyone is ready to harvest off you.
I still remember watching some of the earlier videos you and your wife made when first coming over to Tanzania! I've considered moving to Africa myself since my husband's home is in Nigeria, but you most definitely have to have a plan because some of these governments that are over these countries are not in favor of their people. Poverty and scams is at an all time high and you must consider taking precaution, exercising discernment, and being cognizant of your surroundings. It's certainly a beautiful place to be otherwise.
The Chinese, Lebanese, Indians and Arabs... all came down to Africa and survived... became rich... on that very hard core Continent... they are living a great life without even bothered by the Africans who own their continent. As long as they followed the law and rules.. I've seen videos of African American always crying about how Africa is rough and tough to survive. Also, talking about scammers.. even their was an African American lady called Art Carney who went down their and called Africans dirty and unhealthy.. So if the chinese, Indians, Lebanese, and others bypass such criticism and moved on with their work and became rich... why wouldn't the African Americans do the same and focus on their work in Africa.. instead of criticizing. There are some smart African Americans down in Africa who are making it big.. i guess maybe they never focused on criticism... just moved on with their work and investment.. I can tell you this... typical traditional Africans on the continent could care less with what you bring or invest.. or even how you criticized them... because they are used to this life. Nothing changed. And my advice to foreigners going to Africa for business and investment... just don't criticize... focused.
Other ethnicities go to Africa and survive by using Africans as cheap labor, but not socializing with Africans. Black Americans make the mistake of seeing Africans as our Family, and interacting, this is the mistake, others stay separate.

I remember when we were children, someone in our village brought Jamaicans and an Australian to fund his projects - orphanage, school, and hospital. The Australian built the orphanage and church. The Jamaicans came much later. At the time, illiteracy levels in our village were quite high. People used to talk about black "wazungu" bringing money into the village. Innocent us wanted to see how black "white people" look like. Wazungu is a term used to refer to foreigners from Europe and with time it became associated with white people. So, we were really intrigued to see "white people" who are actually black! When the Jamaicans came, they hosted a football tournament. At the time, we were much older (around 14) and with a greater understanding of global issues - including Jamaican politics, reggae. We approached one of the Jamaican men and started a conversation. The hosts interrupted and possibly thought we would reveal secrets about how they were using them as a cash cow. Our village was transformed. In no time, we had electricity, piped water, dispensaries, etc. There were like 30+ more people coming to invest there from across the world, and settled. When the original host felt that he was wealthy enough, I strongly suspect he hired thugs. We started experiencing targeted armed crimes. He told the Jamaican and Australian that he had received wind that people were planning to harm them. He literally "forced" them to leave. The Australian had been around for over 20 years. It was a crazy moment and the community was mad at what they did. For the diaspora family moving in, don't be too trusting and don't put people too close. They will become entitled to what you own and what to even delete you to take it. That said, we also have very good people, but the selfish nature of human beings means that even the "good" can change when circumstances change.
Wrong! Black is a color and America is substantively a relatively recent European construction. It is impossible to say an African, shaped by Africa over megaannums, is anything but over a few centuries outside Africa. Africans in the Caribbean, Central America and South America, who've been in the Americas the same length of time as those in the USA, acknowledge and practice their African identity in belief systems, hyper local traditions and organizations, language, names, song, dance, food, national days, history taught in schools, exhibitions, festivals, public performances, national dress days, international trade, international MOUs, regional and bilateral initiatives.
We're not black ppl. That's something they named us after the Renaissance era where they high jacked the word of Yah and made it what they wanted it to be. Being called by race or color is a modern thing. Yah called us by Nations and Tribes. Not color.
@@charlotteprater3788 The original Africans were blue black. Due to the constant mixing of races, you hardly see it anymore. I'm tired of people saying we aren't Black. What is that supposed to mean? The truth is you and them aren’t the same. You’ve had more opportunities than they have. You do not speak their language. You do not share their culture and customs. Therefore you will always be an outsider to them that they will try to get something from whether it’s nicely, annoyingly or harshly.
There no free lunch in Africa. No welfare, no child support. You will mix with people who earn $2 a day. If you want them to help you, you must also help them too. It's a two way road.

Your blanket statement is far from accurate. We have a variety of government grants in my country... pensioners, orphans, disabled people and children from families with an annual income of a certain threshold, lastly government bursaries for tertiary education. You are generalizing, using the term Africa as if it a single country... just like the idiot that posted the video.
Fckn lie because in South africa all that you mention than is not there is there.in South Africa there is child support, free hospital, free houses for old people and free money for old people every month.
So how do Indians and Chinese moving to Africa are able to build an empire? Black Americans need to bring a transfer of technology (knowledge).... Colleges, Universities, manufactures, agribusiness, hospitals ....
@@goldenheart751 Another Idea, since the continent of Africa is huge, why don't they take a territory like Israel and build it their own like white people are doing in Western Cape Town? They will have to go to the African Union to apply for their share of a territory for instance, Singapore did it, Dubai is such an experiment also. Build your own future to guide the all world....

Same is so here in America and we all know that is true.
Yep.

Please read Deut 28: 65-68. We are the lost sheep. The 1st part talks about what we faced while in Africa before babylon. We will always be on the outside of any country we go to until the Kingdom. We are the only people trying to move alone. We should be moving and living as a community. There are some countries that make it easier to move to our start businesses. Do your research and go where He sends you. Just know you will never fit in and that's how TMH wants it. Keep going to become self sustainable wherever you live- babylon, the wilderness wherever... I am so glad I came through this video today! I needed to hear this… problems are everywhere just different sets of problems! Stick to your vision, setbacks will show up but if you keep running every time…. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
I think this was a very productive and educational video. Big up bro 💪
No coz he is generalizing the whole Africa😢 ..he went to one of the poorest countries so yeah he had a very different culture experience.. come to Kenya you'll have a close to western experience at least 50% of the time
When you go to Africa, you have to come there with something very significant to offer like a skill or trade.
Well said and very informative 👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿
Trading racism for classism. Move accordingly.
There is always a trade off
It does depend on where we go in Africa.
Are you Black American. brother? The quality of the comment is great.

Look up how Africans think of African Americans but don't let it hurt your heart just open your eyes
It takes bravery and smarts to do what this guy did. Thank you for the video.

💯🙏
Very good advice. 🙏
Black Americans is a Culture . Africans have their own Culture. We are not African American we are Black Americans.
We do not share the same Culture.
Meh
I feel you, thanks for commenting
We're not black ppl. That's something they named us after the Renaissance era where they high jacked the word of Yah and made it what they wanted it to be. Being called by race or color is a modern thing. Yah called us by Nations and Tribes. Not color.
@@charlotteprater3788 The original Africans were blue black. Due to the constant mixing of races, you hardly see it anymore. I'm tired of people saying we aren't Black. What is that supposed to mean? Human nature is the same regardless of race, nationality or country. You're better off taking care of yourself and your family wherever you are.
And as long as the exchange is fair then oky!
