The benefit of UA-cam premium finally shows, I can listen to this series at work and don't need to see what's going on. Best way to keep up so far 😁 Tip Edit: Do it yourself only saves you a tiny amount of gold and a couple of chest slots, Lucky Devil would be the best thing to take early, because it effects so much. Strong ale is great to keep in your pouch, it offers temporary vitality in combat (that stacks like a minor healing potion) and reduces fatigue by 30, carrying extra alcohol into battle has saved me many times, Wine even reduces bleed time when you dont have a bandage.
I tend to pick Colossus first, the free stats just feels so nice. But I could see myself picking lucky devil in act 1, over beast of burden as I get a higher starting strength when starting. Question though, is there a way to remove one purchased item when making a new character? So far I have been forced to reset the whole process which is kinda annoying.
First of all, I am very happy my coment was kind of usefull😊 it took me many hours to figure out that by spending money I can save 1/4 of training time I have. With the character you have you are doing great, I was very stupid for a few runs and went all for stats instead for skill and couldn’t hit stuff later on😅 You did not miss the quest, there’s dialogue line, first one on top and it will give the quest. Civic point in DIY is kind of a waste sewing kit costs like 20 and alchemy tools 10 or 20 and they work even if in chest Money is something I personally end up short on in endgame a few times (probably due to brothel abuse and medic due to it, but it gives extra endurance every so often) I always get colossus as first perk, it gives free points to strength and vitality at begining of every chapter and for every 3 pt spent in vitality you get 1 free strength also And then I go sticky fingers coz loot and armour smith for better crafting money Maces like flail can cause bleeding, also 1 handed flail was my fav weapon till I unlocked something better after caving certain ginger head in. Flails have very useful special ability that lets you bypass 100% enemy shield later with better shield used by enemy very useful. Nothing boils your blood more than dude with 2 HP and shield with cover of 95😅 Always equip hunting knife, empty vial and hunting sword when scavenging(if you find or buy them, investment gives back quickly. Especially vial money-wise. Having good RNG while crafting poison from scavenged snake venom is extra 75 gold and vial costs 25 )it will give extra materials and a little bit of extra money. After your buisiness scavenging just put it into chest. Extra snake poison or unknown poison is extra good money after made into poison and leather is something you wana hoard en mase tbh coz those canteenes and waterskins save lives and trust me you wana have every canteen you can craft, just an hour ago i got to ending 7. Havin rigorously hoarded learher and canteenes I could still use a few more here and there (I used two handed flail that consumed 28stamina but i could deal 60dmg reliably with my build) Booze and cloth gives upgraded bandages that decrease toxicity Antidote you saw in crafting is something you wana have one of if you have extra space in pouch it acts on poisoning the same as bandage for bleeds Personally I think you are very right that there’s flood of information, I guess we kind of wana give pieces of ourselves to make you the best in shortest time. You already doing better than me 10hours in I’d say bit I am very chaotic sometimes. It might be good to just make a note in word with the tips you find worth it and have it open whenever needed. Good job remembering nonetheless
Don't forget to allways talk to people. You can do quests for the Physician and Bartholemew. There is also a quest from Seargent but for that you have to sell quite a few crafted items. Also don't forget to use respite. Edit: My comment was meant to be a kind reminder Reformist. Plus I am sorry to hear that you think about stoping to play HWR.
I appreciate any and all help, I was just remarking that I should probably stop because it's clear I'm not able to live up to people's expectations. With the current character, I'm just trying to survive as best as I can. I'm not really capable of remembering everything that people have kindly commented unfortunately. But thank you so much for your comment! It is helpful. :) I had no idea that they had quests.
@@ReformistTM We expect you to be entertaining and you deliver it in droves imo. We all learned these mechanics on our own time, I don't think anyone can blame you for not memorizing this barrage of information
Yeah for sure. My first runs were much worse. Also wanted to let you know that I love listening to you read out the text. The game is so much better for it. I am prone to skimp over text and missed a lot of details that I am now getting from your runs. Super fascinating to piece this story together!
Thank you very much! You did a good job! The game is very interesting to watch (listen?), so I would gladly see Sir Garbage become a knight, maybe not in his first reincarnation, nor in the second, but someday :D
At the difficulty you're playing at, you need to purchase recipes from Cecilia. Much later on, there's something that you can purchase that unlocks all the recipes. At the lowest difficulty, all the recipes are unlocked as you reach the crafting level needed. Every injury you get has the potential of lasting effects if you leave it untreated.
Good thing you didn't fight those mercenaries. Surely they were time-travellers, considering they were singing a song that wasn't translated into English until some 500 years after this game takes place.
I love how the soldier who scolded you for not being a good Christian (village 1) didn't want to chip in to buy the food then got mad at you for following orders lmao.
Maxing relation with the women in this game gives you powerful items, you should max it with the medic as she gives you free recipes for medical items and gives you a mask that stops you taking poison damage which is important for chapter 4 onwards. The French girl gives you a ring that heals 1 health each turn. If you don’t want to attack as much do to a small chance to hit you should use respite and recover to keep your fatigue low and stamina high as the enemy will drain theirs increasing the chance of you hitting an attack.
How do I max relation with them? Just continue talking to them, do their quests? I doubt I'll ever reach chapter 4 haha. I appreciate the help, thank you. :)
@@ReformistTM Do their quests. In act 2 (which you just completed), you could have done 3 quest for the pharmacist. (1) talk with her about Bart. -> (1.1) do this quest to save Bart -> (1.2) Do the follow up quest (quite hard first time tbh, as you need a lot of stuff). (2) helping her out with a theif. (3) giving her a sword. I am writing this out, as it really isn't spoiling anything, you just don't talk with the NPC's. The other girl is harder to help you with, without going into real spoiler territory. Blacksmith's quest... -> ask how to make money. The rest, eh well The sergeant got a few quest. So does the Earl, and doing them as well as a one of your stats determines how you progress into act 4. And yes if you do all quest, even if time is quite tight. I even get scavenging for leather and herbs (which is a money maker!).
So something I just now noticed (and this is the first game I reached act 4 in, at HWR difficulty)... if you want to earn money (which you do), ofc you can make crossbow bolts and bandages, but I just now realized that you can earn 55 silver by selling the weakest poison. Which you make from 2 poisonous plants. I have honestly slept on them so far, and in my next run I will utilize them even more earlier on, to get better gear. The quest you talked about in the beginning is "activated" by - ask about making money- decision. And the quest where you save your friend (whom you gave up your shield for....), is activated by actually talking with the Physician. Sadly he is now dead. I always try to complete his questline as he has given me so many goodies as I have played. Edit: I fully expect you to die, most likely to the first enemy but if not him, then next ones. May Fortuna bless you, you are going to need it.
I've had a good of run of things on my 2nd run, being 1/2 way through Act3, although I admit watching you first is basically cheating. You really need to focus on your stances, in fact only balanced stance is neutral to Feint. Until you're comfy changing stance every round, I'd just set it and forget it. You're susceptible to feint in Def stance and doubly so in Off stance. Also, I'd focus on destroying any shield you are facing, before attacking the enemy. The AI is much luckier utilizing shield bashes and the like than I've ever found my fellows. The shield is a wild card that obfuscates true hit %. After removing the shield, your attack chances are much more representative of actuality... X-Com rules withstanding...
Sorry man, I wasn't trying to be negative. Cecilia(doctor) had a quest in this act. If you gave her Antidote II and Advanced Medicine, and sacrificed your shield for Bartholemew, he survives to next act.
No need to apologize! I'm just sorry I can't really play as effectively as people would like. I'm not experienced with this game at all and have a lot of learning to do! I very much appreciate any and all assistance and I value helpful comments a lot, I've seen yours on previous videos. Thank you for them. :) I had no idea that these quests were even available, I thought the NPCs had pre-determined conversations and once you had spoken to them, they had little else to provide. But now I know, I'll do my best to remember to speak to them more. Just a lot to remember, can be overwhelming haha.
As long as my head doesn't roll, I am excited for this to keep rolling!
