- Since I’ve been at work everyday in April...I thought it was be a good idea to Declutter & organize that Back Room at the office!! This was mainly a sorting & organizing video and I’m so proud of what I accomplished today!!!

I forgot to record that I took about 6 large bags to Goodwill too!! That helped open up space in the back room as well!! We can this because we are stronger together 🌟🌟🌟
I'd just like to tell you that the name, phone number and website (and most likely the adress) of your workplace are in the video. I'm just saying this bc i know you enjoy having your privacy so in case you prefer them not being in there you can fix it before many see it.

Wow beyond impressive.... you have a natural talent for sorting and organising. That was a hugely overwhelming mess and the way you sorted it was so well thought out and very clever. You cleared it not just to be tidy but with so much forethought about how the stuff would be used going forward. You set it up so well that the next steps will probably happen. As in the Christmas stuff won’t be forgotten and it’s ready to go... your boss will be inspired to take his vintage goodies as you have set them up to be taken and they are labelled. If you had just stacked it all it prob would have stayed there indefinitely. I am going to use this idea for my home. Sort it for it’s next journey....make it easy for the next step to happen.

Miss Heart that is a beautiful vintage plaid picnic basket from the 1940s. My grandmother had the same one. It made me feel very nostalgic to see it. The little wooden piece you pulled out is a pie plate table divider.

I was flabbergasted by how much you were allowed to shred! In my country businesses, even small ones, have to keep paperwork for at least 7 years. Though you are allowed to do that digitally.

That big rope is nice to use for rustic fence. A round hole is drilled in pressure treated wood posts that have been set in the ground. The rope goes through the holes evenly spaced.

I have no problem straighting and organizing someone else's stuff. It's just mine that I get overwhelmed with. I do "in home care" and I had a really bad hoarder as a client. I worked with her for months. We would get a section cleaned and the next time I came over, she had moved stuff into it. That was ok. It takes time to move things around. But when I got a huge space cleaned so she could get to her laundry supplies and remarked about how much nicer it looked. Then pointed out all the space there was, she said it was great because she could buy more stuff! I knew she didn't want to deal with her hoarding and I was just wasting my time trying to get her house clean. I was dealing with mice, dog crap and all kind of nasty stuff and she didn't want to improve her environment.

Some people have great anxiety when they see empty spaces. I realized that was my issue when I was cleaning my garage. I got rid of A TON of stuff, but what I had left I scattered it all around to fill up the empty space. It was when my brother came over - he has ocd- and asked me why I spread everything out when it had just looked so nice the weekend before I realized I was uncomfortable with the emptiness of it all. Hope that makes sense.

I really love the no diving sign, wooden chair, vintage radio + picnic basket. I can imagine them down one wall of white bookcases with white shiplap backs, like a vintage trip to the Poconos. Would make for a very calming office :)

I work at a library trust me those can be a hoarded hot mess. A the old building it was so full of obsolete office supplies and old poster, fliers, etc. They never wanted to throw anything away. Our new building has new supervision (or lack there of) so the hoards are kept to a minimum.
When will you be getting back to your basement? I’m really looking forward to that.

Suggestion: I understand Christmas donations have a sentiment to them, but I could imagine plenty of donations coming in again at the end of the year. Instead of storing this stuff for 8 months, have you considered donating it now so it gets to be used? (Just a thought, I don't know the background or your reasoning behind it)
I wonder if there is a charity in your area that provides birthday gifts for children that are in need. I have seen stories in women's magazines about charities that do that so maybe you have one in your area?

Making one box dedicated to all the ropes is a good idea even if it is heavy because it’s all in one place. Also when storing it make sure you coil it and tie it off with itself so they don’t get tangled
Just do a little at a time. I sorted a museum's basement. For example, we don't need big bags of toilet paper rolls. You're doing a great job. Tina

Speak with your boss about donating toys at end of school year. With the pandemic still going, many families are still out of work. It would be nice to give the gifts now when they are needed ... not just Christmas. And, you do not have to store them!
I lost my job this week. I have been really worried that it might trigger my hoarding. I have been working really hard to resist.

My husband but he has some trouble. When he bends over he get drizzle. I took him to the hwy department Mon to get his licenses but he could see the chart told him to go to see the eye Dr gave him some paper I took him Tues morning the to see the eye Dr he told him that he allergy infection in his left eye. That why he couldn't see anything. He quit driving I had to do the driving. So glad that we found out what it was.
