The Aztecs had it coming for treating the neighboring tribes like slaves and EATING them. Cortés took advantage. Karma! The Incas were fighting a civil war among themselves. Pizarro took advantage. Karma!
God I love this song, we played this in 7th grade for my orchestra I played 1st violin. I love it especially because ALL instruments in this song get part of a spotlight. The adventure for the violins, and the calm slow part for the cellos give me chills every time
Last year I played this on the cello, and even if I leveled in a symphony orchestra, still love this song. This song involves the cello lot and it's awesome and fun to play!
AkwadTypo YT That's true. All you need to do is practice over and over again but my school seems to have a problem with that, hence why everyone complained about how "difficult" it was. I was just like "Really people?"
Oh my gosh! I miss playing soo bad! I played the violin for 2 years but I had to quit. :( this was my favorite song to play and I still remember every note.
"Thumbs up if you play viola!" "Thumbs up if you play cello!" "Thumbs up of you play bass!" I'm playing this song on 2nd violin. Viola's think they're the forgotten instrument, hell nah, it's Violin II that's always forgotten
Strange_Obsessions :D Seriously? The viola is always forgotten - more so than the second violin. Most people don't even know what a viola is. The violin in general is more well known and put in the spotlight than the viola no matter what part you have. Don't even go there acting like the VIOLIN is more forgotten than the viola.
openveinsk that's an over exaggeration, people still know what a viola is. I for one like it better than the violin, and I was thinking of switching instruments. The viola section is probably the largest section in my entire Orchestra
i love this song! im playing it in for solo and ensamble with my friends and we love it. the composer is great, made star of county down which is also an amazing song that i played at all county.
Anna Kornilova Yes Deborah Baker Monday and Doug Spata compose super exciting pieces, but I think my favorite composer is Soon Hee Newbold. I play viola and she gives awesome parts to violas :). But I just auditioned for all county a couple days ago and my teacher said I got in so I hope viola gets a good part :/.
Oh! Are the results back? I auditioned as well. I can tell that I won't get a good chair and I might not get in though. I really did bad on the sight reading part and they had technical difficulties and had to separate my audition into two parts. My teacher loves Soon Hee Newbold as well! There are some really great songs, I'll try to dig some up to play. Gosh, I hope I do get in though.
OMGz I LOVE this song!!! :D I'm a cellist, and I enjoyed this everytime we played it! I mean, it's an AMAZING song~ Our conductor knows the composer personally~ we got to talk to her~ But enough about that. I NEVER got tired of this song(even though my hand would hurt like heck after playing this...) But we played this during a music camp. I'm glad I got into the lower orchestra! Or I think it was the lower orchestra.. :/ I don't think the other orchestra played it.
+Amanda Coomer I'm playing this in 2nd violin. Such a shame. I mean, being in 2nd is nice and all, but I do wish to be in 1st, I just can't play that kind of stuff so well, plus, I can't vibrato very well.
Sarah Elizabeths life cool!!! I asked him to put me in chamber but there wasn't enough room. So he said he needed strong players in advanced! Can u play vibrato? I can it's arm vibrato. I've practiced it for 3 years and now I can do it myself
Alondra Chavez yes we do vibrato and its arm vibrato no wrist if that makes sense we play all the scales with vibrato and for my winter concert so far we do it on long whole notes on somewhere in my memory and conqusidor. im in nevada
i played this peice last year as a 1st violin everyone thought this was a fun and upbeat song! we preformed it at the Peak music compititions and the judges said that the song had amazing energy! thank you Mrs.Debrah Baker Monday! this song is very well composed! it has a mixture of everything! wonderful job!! ^_^
This song is one of my favorite songs i ever played. Im a first violin in this song. Being first Violin for specific songs are great! But 2nd Violing is also good on specific songs. CONQUISTADOR RULES! I rate this a 5 star song. And everyone who's a conquistador love, also check a gorgeous lullaby. The name of the lullaby is: Lullaby hofeldt. So type down on the google video search bar: Lullaby Hofeldt and click on the one were it shows half of a violin and the other half is shaded black.
The viola has the richness of a cello and the potential high pitch as the violin. yet its overlooked so frequently. As a violist, it saddens me. Though i realize it saddens all violists. And in that, though none of us know each other, we have a bond that violinists and cellos and basses will never understand. We stand together as the forgotten instrument. A toast to all Viola players in the world. #unnecessarily #inspirational
This song means alot to me, because it was the last song we played at our last concert with our conductor, because she had to move to Nebraska. To me it kind of sounds like a sad/frustrated goodbye. We luv u Mrs. Rasmussen
I remember playing this in honors orchestra in 7th grade -- we alllllways asked the director if we could play this song at rehearsal. Loved it so much!
OMG I have been looking for this song for so long! I am not in orchestra, but i listened to the orchestra rehearsal at my school and it was so good! I love it!
my orchestra class is gonna play this song later at a concert...i cant wait...thanks for the video...now i know how it sounds like thank you very much! i rated 5 stars!
YES I DO! But that was two years ago. Now I have to play Concerto in G minor for 2 cellos by Vivaldi. (Sadly I have to play 2nd cello instead of first)!
I played the cello for 3 years and I played this my first year and it was honestly my favorite piece out of all the ones I’ve played. Listening to this brings back memories and make me miss playing 😭❤️

Edit: I'm Violin 2 by the way.
I played this for my middle school orchestra twice. First in seventh and second in eight grade. I was a second violin first and first violin in eighth. That was three years ago and this piece is still one of the best I've played
My school is playing this for our spring concert at the end of the year, awesome song cuz i love playing it, it helps to have most of the song already memorized.
I'm playing this in 7th grade orchestra right now, even though I'm a second violin, this piece is totally EPIC! Thank you, Deborah Baker Monday for composing this amazing piece!! -3
I played this twice in middle school. The 1st violin part doesnt even have a maagority of the meloddy. The viola and 2nd violin part have it. I play a viola and im in 6th grade
I've completely memorized the 1st and 2nd violin part. This piece brings back so many memories. My school went to Atlanta Georgia and played in a competition there, we won! This is definitely one of my favorite pieces :')
We are playing this song in orchestra. We just started, but listening to this gives me chills. It's amazing how well they can play it and with all the dynamics.
this song is awesome. it's something u can actually get into. :) we're playing this song for our winter concert. :) anyway, thank you so much for posting this! conquistador is amazing!
i played this peice last year as a bass. and it was so much fun, normally as a bass you do not get the good parts, but in this song there isnt a bad part for any instrument! it was a load of fun

My middle school, Maple Street Magnet School For The Arts, we are playing this and Mountain Hymn for our Spring Performance, I'm SO exited!! Thanks song gives off so much energy and inspiration , next to mountain hymn, it's freakin Amazing!! Good Job to who played this.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people that played cello can agree the cello part was fucking lit.
I played it last year and our teacher had us refresh after every one of those staccato quarter notes in the beginning.
Facts my school just started this song
Eh the violin was the melody
Solarformula 888 same
James Jackson agreed
Guys just remember that violins, violas, cellos, and basses all matter. No forgotten instruments
Nah violas dont matter they can never do anything right
Aztecs never saw it coming. Neither did the Incas. Poor lads.
Vladimir's Russia SHIT!
dammit pizzaro
This made me laugh lol
The Aztecs had it coming for treating the neighboring tribes like slaves and EATING them. Cortés took advantage. Karma!
The Incas were fighting a civil war among themselves. Pizarro took advantage. Karma!
Right, that damn Pizarro
God I love this song, we played this in 7th grade for my orchestra I played 1st violin. I love it especially because ALL instruments in this song get part of a spotlight.
The adventure for the violins, and the calm slow part for the cellos give me chills every time
same! I was also a first violin and I loved it
bass starts crying in the corner* (kinda)
I am playing this on the cello, with my orchestra at my Christmas concert
Last year I played this on the cello, and even if I leveled in a symphony orchestra, still love this song. This song involves the cello lot and it's awesome and fun to play!
Samee!
Whoever is commenting about how hard this song is has never actually played this because is not hard.
AkwadTypo YT
That's true. All you need to do is practice over and over again but my school seems to have a problem with that, hence why everyone complained about how "difficult" it was.
I was just like "Really people?"
I wouldn't say that it's hard but I have trouble with some parts occasionally.
Rhianon Jacobsin I just had trouble on pats after the coda
It's tricky at first, but it gets so easy that you can play it by memory in the end
Orianna Owns No he's right it's easy af
Pretty good on bass shoutout to all bass players
Bass face baby
Giovanni Rabinal thanks man
1:08 That made me sad, because they weren't nearly as loud as they should've been.

I'm playing this song on 2nd violin. Viola's think they're the forgotten instrument, hell nah, it's Violin II that's always forgotten

openveinsk honestly, All top comments are voilà and cello parts. You need to calm yourself.
Actually 2nd violin makes of maybe a quarter of the song
yeah well some people see a cello and think it's a guitar
Played this in 7th grade. 4 first violins, 4 second violins, 4 violas, 3 cellos, 2 bass players, One big amazing concert💖
I had this playing in my head for nights and even had a dream about playing it!
i love this song! im playing it in for solo and ensamble with my friends and we love it. the composer is great, made star of county down which is also an amazing song that i played at all county.
I agree. This is one of my favorite orchestral song composers along with Doug Spata.
There are some really great songs, I'll try to dig some up to play. Gosh, I hope I do get in though.
Anna Kornilova The suspense is killing me! I can't wait until monday. I wish we could know sooner.
OMGz I LOVE this song!!! :D I'm a cellist, and I enjoyed this everytime we played it! I mean, it's an AMAZING song~
Our conductor knows the composer personally~ we got to talk to her~

+Amanda Coomer I'm playing this in 2nd violin. Such a shame. I mean, being in 2nd is nice and all, but I do wish to be in 1st, I just can't play that kind of stuff so well, plus, I can't vibrato very well.
I have played violin for years, and this is one of my most favorite songs to play. Unfortunately, I don't remember how to play it. lol *sad face*
Trust me, muscle memory kicks in at random times lmao
Any violist ( the forgot instruments) ;(
I play viola

The viola has the richness of a cello and the potential high pitch as the violin. yet its overlooked so frequently. As a violist, it saddens me.
