I thought about this question. What comes to mind are two specific characters. Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun. I ended up with a significant connection to them due to how both of them have suffered great pains and trauma. Yet they both have come a long way in their own rights. While becoming two completely different people with their own way to challenge whatever they were put through. As someone that has gone through severe trauma and abuse throughout my life, seeing them overcome the Hell that was thrust upon them gave me enough perseverance to keep going. Even during the most horrid of times. Those two have in a sense saved me many times over. So I am grateful that I had this series in my life.
When it comes to fiction I honestly dont really care about gender- as long as a story and it's characters are written well I'll enjoy it- I'd say I have an equal ammount of favorite characters I can look up to of either gender Thing is I've read, watched and listened to so many stories over the years that whenever I encounter something new I can usually predict where a story will go- so when a story genuinely manages to surprise me or do something new with an existing concept- said story genuinely becomes a good story in my book- this also makes it all the more disappointing to me when certain cliches are overused with no attempts to do something new with said cliches
hmm.. i used to feel weird about it especially when i found myself dreaming being them. now i don't feel that weird as my favorite hero is annie leonhardt, not because of how she looks because honestly she's somewhat plain looks wise, but because of her character, how she's hard and disciplined but also shares my morals which few other characters do despite what her fanart shows. being antidrug, antismoking, antialchohal. qualities even superman lacks (he'll drink wine on occassion and i think he's drunk beer.) it doesn't bother me anymore to say some of my fave heroes are female. as for real women, the only qualifications i truly associate them with to compare to anime women is to match some of the personality traits. things like being strong and disciplined in spirit. (a thing which is almost nonexistent amongst real women sadly. and it's a trait they could immitate same way guys can immitate the cool and aloof character of male anime characters.) however i don't really expect girls to 'look' like an anime girl. not that it's impossible. ones like saber and annie are fairly grounded and realistic as opposed to harribel from bleach which has a gargantuan chest and small waist and hips. even so, yes, i don't believe women should have control over how women are drawn and depicted. otherwise we could say the same for 'men' depicted in works by women and say they are never allowed to depict them as bishie men and steroid like men are unrealistic expectations. no, they should all be 'dad bod' men to get women interested and associated with the 'natural dad-bod.' when one thinks of it this way one can see the ridiculous notion of a woman trying to control how a fictional woman looks.
Blanc from Neptunia. A quiet girl with a love of reading and a short fuse, who would do anything to protect her little sisters Rom and Ram. And I have never felt shame for that.
What comes to mind is Nero Claudius from fate extra she is super energetic, fun, cute and the vibes that she gives helped me get through the hardest part of my life
That's what the people in Twatter don't like.. They'd rather project their darkest desires unto others via framing us as degenerates. (Even though they are the ones who are the real degenerates)
Idk it really depends imo. If you make that art for yourself is one thing but if you publish it in one form or another (something on twitter, insta or a game, anime, movie ecc.)? Let's say your fantasy is police gunning down black people, can you post drawings about it? They don't directly hurt black people, right?
Giuseppe Piuma I guess you could say that hurts people by inciting violence or promoting racism? Interesting point. 🤔 I think it might be a whole other topic discussing if people doing that is within the right of freedom of speech. (‘Cause you know the government bans public display of ‘obscenities’ but who really knows wtf that means lol)
This is very similar to people who complain about cultural appropriation. They say only blacks can wear dreadlocks or Japanese can wear a kimono, not realizing how racist this actually is. Funny thing is the Japanese were interviewed about how they felt about non Japanese doing such things and they liked it. They saw foreigners wearing Japanese clothing as a compliment, not anything negative. In the end, I think its about people trying to assert power/control over others which is always dangerous.
No they do. Mineta. But when compared to Meliodice who is the bigger perv? Or Issei from DxD. A massive, if not bigger, perv then the grape boy. Yet why do people like them?
@@AppahTheChin If I remember the show correctly, Issei never sexually harassed any of the female cast members on purpose. And like Dai said, being a perv is not vice, it's forcing your tastes on other people.
@@AppahTheChin I think you got the wrong idea what OP was saying. It was on sexualization. The Karens and SIMPS complain over anime women but when they get off to making male sexualization for women its somehow ok when its double standards.
As a woman myself, I can understand why some people may find it uncomfortable to see their own gender sexualised. But at least it's an outlet for the people creating it, and enjoyment for those seeing/reading the creation. So I think it's fine to sexualise as long as you're respectful and nice to real people.
Exactly! Sure I watch and read a lot of anime/manga with sexualized women but I always try to treat women with respect. It's called separating your fantasy from reality.
Just throw the stupid phrase back at them saying "it wasn't made for them" or "you don't like it don't buy it" I'm sure they don't care and forget about anime and video games the moment it can't be used to push an agenda. Plus some of the best women who look hot are drawn by women like nezuko and Inu x boku we got a maniac
@@michaelmurray8134 funny enough some of the hottest women are made by both men and women depending on inspiration. Some examples are demon Slayer mangaka being a women and drawing hot girls or Inu x boku mangaka (rest in peace) having many fetish art in it but very good. Sorry for late response UA-cam doesn't get good message lately. But yeah shouldn't it be "sexist" in quotes for women to not look good lol like they care only complain is what they like.
@@ivanbluecool I'll give you ANOTHER example of a sexy fictional female character designed by a woman; Erin Bozon of Wayforward is the woman who designed Shantae.
@@ivanbluecool I just go one step further and use lesbians and trans as much as these SJWS like to use them to demonize others as its fun me calling the SJWS homophobic and transphobic to preventing people to freely express their sexual desire lol
Unfortunately a decent chunk of social media is a breeding ground for narcissist who think their experiences and personal feelings are all that matters.
Just attacking fiction because it IS entertainment (or at least an unofficial trope as misconceptions, lies and other synonyms aren't exactly entertaining as well playing music in around someone isn't exactly fictional), which is what makes such an easy target. SJW's want to take full control of the entertainment industry all just to get rid of everything offensive about it (which IS everything) and make themselves feel important.
Kinda reminds me of SJW whining about Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4 "misrepresenting queers"...Their problem they seem to think every character is a "representation" of a "Concept" rather than a representation of the characters themselves...which in a way is objectifying these characters (be it male or females) if you think about it.
Also reminds me of SJW's whining about Naoto being trans and being "a bad representation of trans peopl" meanwhile calling her trans is the equivalent of ignoring her entire character building
@@GIRru11 She's not even a trans to begin with...there was a idiot I argued with the other day over Naoto's gender and were upset that she admitted that she's a "woman"...they were convinced that Naoto was a transgender male.
@@Miyakolover It legit angers me since Naoto is my favorite character, and all Social Rank moments with her pretty much prove that she is not, and was never meant to be trans.
@@GIRru11 Honestly, even if Naoto was the trans, that is not the issue here...the issue I have with them is they only see her as an object of "representation"...so they objectify her even more than the people they claim to "objectify women".
WE appreciate them as CHARACTERS, THEY attack them as "representations" of "concepts"; if ANYONE'S objectifying these fictional female characters, it's the FEMINAZIES, NOT us.
This theory that women have a more important opinion than men on the sexiness of fictional female characters is entirely debunked by the JRPG series HyperDimension Neptunia. People love to complain about how the series’ games have characters that are too sexy and meant to fulfill a male’s fantasy but no one realizes that the lead character designer is a woman, Naoko Mizuno. She designed the characters to be cute in her own eyes and it was even her idea to make the characters’ breast sizes and personalities temporarily mature during their transformations for the sake of comedy.
Most anime have women as pear shaped, while here in the west, the ideal is usually hour glassed shape. The only insecurity I ever had growing up with anime was with the bust sizes, but I get that same feeling on a beach, and let me tell you, we come in all shapes and sizes. In the end, just remember that a beach wrecks self esteem way more then a beach episode, because your actually there.
Depends on the anime. Every artist is a little different and I guarantee there’s something for everyone, realistic or otherwise. Honestly though, feeling attractive and trying to attain a certain body irl is a completely separate world.
Your title says it enough. The title of the video is practically gospel real women shouldn't control What fictional women should look like. As for how to write a fictional female character that's another topic by itself imo anyway
The problem is that the distinction isn't that clear. Even if you are religious, you can agree that all the other religions are fiction. Yet they determine and have determined the lives of billions of people. Money diesn't really exist either : there is ten times more money in circulation than money actually possesed by people, and coins and bills are becoming abandoned in favor of online transactions. Yet everyone is obsesed with it. Nations don't always represent realit either : borders keep being conntested, and some contries were created when someone literally drew a line on a Map, without caring for what the people who lived in the area he changed thought of his décision. Even if all of an entreprise's employees and chiefs died, and all of its factories were destroyed, it would still exist legaly. When enough people accept a fiction, it bevomes a reality.
I literally started drawing because I read a fanfic and there wasn't any artwork that looked even vaguely similar to the descriptions of the characters.. and even though my artwork isn't very good, I got pretty much cancelled off of a discord server for sharing it and asking for pointers because it "wasn't realistic".. Like, fucking duh, it's talking animals for fucks sake, of course they're not gonna be realistic, and the one I was drawing is even a robot that has laser canons...
As someone that relates and can be considered asexual, I never could completely get the whole "fanservice" ideology. But I do understand that people like what they like and will hate what they don't like. I choose to accept this regardless of the topic / argument. As long as said subject isn't done as an outright mockery towards someone else, it's just part of fiction and fantasy.
I mean as a man , i don't nessesarly ginafter big, thicc womens or thin and effeminate ladies... I have a preference for toboys with abs. Does that mean that i expect evry women in the world to workout and become fit for my sake? Hell no! Does it mean that if i find one that match this description i will simp for her? Not nessesarly either. It's just a personnal taste and preference, but i respect other womens who wishes to behave and look differently , because they're pepole before being womens.
Especially true if you yourself don’t necessarily work out either. Plus, there’s a difference between appreciating or preferring fit women and respecting women who aren’t. No one has a right to be seen as attractive.
@@OtakuDaiKun exactly. I don't especially work out out of a lack of motivation and confidence, so me wishing for others to work out would be scummy and entitled of me. Self respect is as important as the respect of others. Hence why i not only push my preferences and taste onto others, but also don't push them onto myself, as that would be toxic as hell.
I share your appreciation of muscle babes; while I'm not gonna FORCE a girl to work out until she becomes one (as I have a consience and understand human rights), I DO in fact wish they weren't so RARE in both the real world AND in fiction. It puts my attraction in a civil war, with one side liking women who're physically strong, and LOOK that way, while STILL looking like women, and WANTING to like them, and the other side trying to tell me that it's not practical, as the odds of actually meeting one in my lifetime are a billion to one, and for that reason, I should just be attracted to thin women. WHY do muscle-babes have to be SO RARE?!
The moment a woman brings an actual value to a relationship, like emotional support or thought assistance I might stop choosing my next partner based on how much anime are their chesticles. If you don't want to be looked at only as a sexual object, then become something more.
I’ve thought about this topic before and heard it discussed. But I’ve never heard this view point so well thought out and expressed. Thank you for sharing.
Why do people complain about non-existing/non-living characters, they aren't real. That should be the least of anyone's worries. At the end of the day, someone is going to be bitchin about a drawing.
Different perspectives can be important when putting together anything; having a woman's opinion on a female character can be very useful, but that opinion is just that: an opinion. The "in-group" and "out-group" debate has always struck me as being more destructive than helpful. There are shows intended for women, shows intended for men, shows intended for children, and anyone can find enjoyment in any of that. I do not need to be of a particular race or gender to find meaning in a show.
I'm just gonna say it. For the people who ask, "Where are her organs?" Question, have you seen the woman with the thinnest waist? Where are her organs!? If they can't handle the artwork of a fictional character, then they'll never handle real life bizarreness that they may see
Here's a perfect example and she may not be from anime, but she the perfect example of "Where are her organs" but nobody whines about her ironically. Jessica Rabbit from the old movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
@@MikeTheEnforcer well for one. Art is exaggeration but actually there has been women who can look very thin. the illusion is in the breasts and butt/hips that can make the waist look smalle. Plus there is real women with huge or giant knockers that can jiggle in the right way like in anime if done right. (I came across few)
These Karen's are always complaining the best we can do if you don't like beautifully drawn women just walk away and find a new hobby. Because men and some women who appreciate 2d Waifus don't need you to toxify the anime community.
I find it amazing how a video such as this, with so much insight and reason put into it, tends to be ignored by the people who need to listen to it most. Also Dai, I believe we've seen that even IF a female comes forward to speak on the matter but doesn't side with the complainers, then those complainers will dismiss those opinions as well citing conditioning as an excuse to ignore them. Truly frustrating this is.
it's just like Orwell said we're censored everywhere by some morality-police our opinions aren't valid while some people think they know better and they have more legitimacy to talk about them
I like to imagine people who say that don’t know much about the topic they are debating on our side. Gotta have a good counter argument and not the same thing over and over to win a debate.
I’m perfectly fine with people having their own opinions but please don’t attack or harass the artist who creates said fictional characters especially big busty anime girl’s but what do you expect it’s the world of twitter. Personally I’m a fan of both Anime boys and girls.
i'm a girl. a lot of my friends or acquaintances who are girls look down on me for watching anime because they think its only purpose is to entertain pervy men when, really, anime culture has revolved around entertaining all sorts of ideals (not always sexual in nature!) around both men and women, and sometimes even subverting them for a plot point or experimental flair. Thanks for this video, you put my feelings into words extremely well.
Many of the people who complain about fiction media doesn't care and want control. They go after anime because it's popular. Erotica anime did this long ago so why not say something about it then. It just shows they don't want to complain to complain. Enjoy your media and if someone tries to stop you then speak out and do as you wish.
We need more people that tells others that it's not bad to like different things as long as it not brake the law or hurt someone. Nice video! I myself like any character who deep enough but there is some visual preferences and I still can like character just for his/her/their/it looks). (By the way I like to create strong but pretty female protagonists in games too :D )
How self-absorbed do you have to be to think a character created by someone who obviously doesn’t know you is some kinda jab against you personally...? 😑
I feel bad for the feminist that are actually doing good The sheer noise "feminists" create is overshadowing what good the others do. Even if they are a small minority of the movement, they don't even realize that doing this kind of stuff doesn't help them at all. I mean I do get that feminism is supposed to be for equality, but having a few blobs of living mistakes can really damage a groups reputation My favorite analogy for this kind of people is a black spot on a white paper It's very small, but it's noticable, very noticeable
I look at work of fiction and I would never think of a human being needing to measure up to something fictional. The need to have works of fiction representing real life is killing creativity because it's setting a standard to appease that demographic. To know that these women feel so intimidated over works of fiction that they feel the need to change it to better reflect themselves is rather sad. The character can't have their own identity without being scrutinized for it.
I as a gay male always thought people who complain about this where being childish sure I occasional wish their would be a little less cleavage and more handsome men in anime but I don't complain about it often and don't want to force that onto others or say they are wrong for having different opinions
The ironic matter is that female artists goes just as much making fanservice on boyxboy with exaggerations and act hypocritical at such double standards its laughable.
As fans, we have the right to fantasize whatever anime, character , etc but up to certain extents life pushing their beliefs on others, like the SJW's , certain anime voice actresses, cosplayers & more believe that they own female anime characters cause their personality or plot of the show twist that theory for political reasons. I can say that the voice actresses can take credit for recording english audio over the production but some of them take anime & use it for their own personal reasons like the genres, Harem, yuri & flip the script on the mens point of view. there is a few female characters I can connect to on a personal basis but at the same time I enjoy watching the show & how it impacts me as a viewer. In the end, everybody needs to stop trying to own stuff & keep your opinions to themselves.
it's a more minor point at the beginning, but when you use "her back must hurt" as an example, i can say for sure that's not always the case. i'm a guy and when i see art like that and try to imagine it i find it physically painful, which is what i'm commenting on rather than any pseudo-feminist message.
I've never gone out into the real world and expected women to live up to the proportions of anime women. I'll fawn over a good pair of knockers as much as the next guy but I've always connected more with characters via their personality, male or female, rather than their bodies. Frankly, if the only thing someone gets out of anime is that the characters are unrealistically proportioned then I think they're missing the point anyway.
Another fantastic video, A little bummed that I think “ Kiss Him Not Me” May have just been spoiled for me since I just started the manga, But regardless I won hundred percent agree with your point.
It is quite nice to see people point these things out. I mean just because we watch these anime’s doesn’t mean it’s just for the body of the girls. If all we cared were breasts, thighs and legs, we would have simply gone to KFC.
Well said Dai kun! Personally, in these recent times, I think the world has just gone mad. For me, the only sanctity of an escape from all the stupidity there is, are in the various worlds that anime provides. If these women find the female characters so insulting then... Why do they keep watching anime? Or are they trying to change the way Anime is, like they have tried to change so many other things? Anime as a whole has gotten me through some really tough times and even through the good times, if I could end my day by watching anime, then all the better. Anime is anime. If you don't like what the content is or how a character is portrayed..... Don't watch it. It's that simple.
So many of these feminists have 0 sense of what's real and what's fake. They say that even though anime fanservice is fake, it still "implies" sexist things that they no like. I'm sorry feminists, but "they're not real" is an actually solid claim and reason on why you're over reacting. You can't discount that argument. If you do, you're in denial.
In my opinion people should just back off and leave artists alone. The characters in anime or drawn by an artist are not real. Some of these characters aren't even human like anyone from Monster Musume.
I think fictional things shouldn't under real life laws because most of our favorite Anime and shows have things that would be considered illegal in real life, murder, stealing, violence, prostitution and etc, drawing or roleplaying any of this things should and probably is legal because if acted upon doing some of this things in real life is sick if acted upon, but not being able to fictionlize it shouldn't be illegal
Actually there is many forms of how breasts jiggle and there is video evidence proof of huge breasts to even giant breasts either natural or unnatural jiggle their own way that can look like anime. Even as there is huge to giant breasts that can be examples for people to use in art even if its exaggerated. The matter is that breasts can come in various ways of jiggle depending on the situation and matter that can emphasize either accurate or become an illusion that can become exaggerated.
Nice video, I agree, if its anyone who own a character it would be the author or company creating them, and they are free to display them as they see fit. But ofcourse that dosent mean you have to like it tough.
@@AppahTheChin The Creator owns the rights to the story that they created. But the fans have the right to enjoy it and make different stories and/or criticism of the stories. They can't copy it and say they own it.
@@do-re-mi-fabeat4449 This is why I love anime and manga fans. They understand the minuscule details of reality and don't shriek at anyone that they disagree with. Also thank you for thinking logically, it quite rare to see intellectual honesty.
I understand your main point while the side ones I don't agree with like "body" Funny enough while harem is a nice fantasy the reverse harem Is actually more unrealistic with a simple girl with high class guys from what I read but I'm sure no one will say a word as agenda Plus forcing the girls to dress more would be the exact opposite thing that they would want as it would go into real life dressing while covering everything so it's just basically a way to complain so no they don't have any rights to another person's ideas or art. Dubb and "localization" are already on high tide with the little changes that ruin the anime forever after everyone forgets about the issue which makes sub better in general Also if anything should be added. We should see more short busty girls like la brava from mha or Nero from fate extra as it would make more sense seeing shortstack girls as they are the least used.
@Janeiro I yeah I agree as Funimation is the biggest problem for this. Ufotable and aninplex are fine from what I've seen but funi like Disney is trying for it all. I hope they lost a lot for the reviewer show they didn't dubb
this is very apparent with ChatterBate's Melody, a Virtual Girl a la Kizuna Ai, but for the 18+ crowd. her first show set a record for "tips" given. the 3D (real) girls of ChatterBate cried, "Foul!" and complained that a "cartoon character" shouldn't be allowed to compete with them. but Melody was original and straight-up fun plus she filled a niche for the kind of people you mention here: ones that are uncomfortable objectifying and sex-ifying real women but are comfortable around a waifu.
In colonel mustang's defense, i don't think he would be in any kind of wrong if resignation from the military was made an option. Many businesses and organizations have dress codes and uniforms that they have every right to decide upon. Just as people in general have every right to decide to be a part of those businesses and organizations.
You opinion does make sense I honestly see that a made character has no connection to reality as it’s lt effecting the real world so there’s no need to get mad over their choice of clothing or styles even by the artist it’s not them insulting the opposite gender it’s them making a character’s personality so you can’t really show hate to that
My personal take? If someone wants to make a video, post, essay, etc on how.. I dunno.. anime characters in thongs are ruining society for women or whatever, let em. I don't agree with it, but art is personal. However when it comes to actually harassing people and artists? That's where I draw the line. You know stuff like repeatedly telling an artist that they're disgusting and should die because they drew an anime character in a suggestive way. That IS disgusting and no one has a right to do that.
Indeed, but by that same token it should be fine for people to make videos celebrating thongs, even if only to let companies know there’s a demand for that market.
I must say i find this discussion about anime woman and what they "represent" idiotic. it goes even so far that People who don't know anything about anime want to ban it, just because how woman are portrait in anime. on the other hand i never see anyone complain about how anime boys look sparkling or cool. I mean come on no men looks like that. Just because most anime in the west that are well known have not such men portrait that most people forget them, but they exist and i find they should also be part of the discussion to let both side stand on equal footing. So long as only one side is part off this in my opinon the entiry discussion is pointless.
I couldn't agree more. I always try to say that everyone is an individual so you should never judge anyone until you hear or if possible meet them yourself. The same applies to any content, especially anime and video games, if you have never either watched/played something that you are complaining about for yourself you will never have a full representation of it. There is always a story behind any media (and with anime/video games a storyline) so while obviously not every story is a good one unless you play/watch for yourself you will never fully understand the subject the creator is trying to convey, and if you have done so and still dislike it that is perfectly fine. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and just because I might not agree with someone else does not mean I have a right to force my opinion on them to change themselves or what they created. Talking about how you dislike anything is great and can possibly lead to a productive conversation between you and the other party that can help everyone understand each other better, but when you get upset and try to change them or their creation by force or anger because of what you believe, either in person or in any form on the internet, by yourself or with others, and even if your not talking to them at the time, instead of mutual understanding that may help both parties it will only lead to a bad conflict, if not from the creator than from other people who happen to agree with them, even if you have any good intentions. We are all only human so we will all get angry but it is important to understand that everyone has a right to their opinion and no one can ever completely change what someone is truly passionate about. All we can do is try to understand and maybe we can all fight a little less in the future and understand more.
I mean you said it all so good work Also thank you for interducing me amagi Brilliant park through your waifu polls And last note people just need to separate fantasy from reality I love anime cause it's not reality and i dont expect it to be so i would t watch a ecchi like interspeices reviewers then complain that there aren't brothels of sexy women cause its anime and a pretty funny one at that
Not saying it's the same thing but as a big person I see in anime where the big guy is the creepy dude and when I was younger it me sad then I realized that it was a fictional world I have never felt like I had the right to say something. Though if I go to japan turns out they like big guys dont know if it's still the same but a man can dream.
Not really. I rarely have seen any anime with a big dude being the creeper, most of the time he is good person. Bleach, one piece, that recent shoujo about a big dude and that girl and many more. They always seems shy, gentle and funny or deadass quiet but cool.
Oh boy, this is gonna be quite contentious, isn't it? I have to say, being new to this channel, I had to check again to make sure that it was you who had posted this (as I have not seen the older videos you reference), and not someone like Yellow Flash or something. I can appreciate the bravery it takes to post something like this in our current climate and I think that's earned you a subscribe. I have to be upfront that I'm entirely opposed to your socially libertarian and progressive views, but I think you're sincere about them and I can respect that. Also, good taste on picking "KLK" as the background for this video. Despite being a conservative, traditionalist, and very much in favour of modesty of dress, word, and deed, especially for women, I really enjoyed "KLK" and I very much respect Ryuuko and Satsuki.

It's called "FEMALE OWN GROUP PREFERENCE" look it up [Women side with other Women over Men] You don't see Men saying they own male characters because Men have "MALE OUT GROUP PREFERENCE" [Men side with Women over other Men {Even Gay Men do this}] Female own group preference is as predicable as water being wet. When you add Female sexuality as a point of discussion it gets even worse. Ironically Women are usually more puritanical than Men are.
Great vid, great points, although i sometimes interpret women's discontent not as feeling threatened by femalele characters in anime, but feeling as if the characters are being objectified. I understand my grammar needs work.
Fan service only really botheres me when the context of the scene or show is a bit creepy or slimy but the same applies to all genres. If you want a female character in next to nothing or whatever go for it. While Im not the target audience for many ecchi shows I kinda enjoy them for how absurd they can be, I found them to be more funny than insulting. Like ok sure that tiny bikini top is going to be a top teir defence against the enemy. I just kinda see these shows like how I like using any sort of character customizing options to make over the top characters.
I would probably gonna throw those kind of people in an anime world before I will listen to there complains but the point is it's impossible currently. So why bother when it's not even in the realm of our reality? Don't expect a fiction to be 100% real, it's made that way for us to enjoy them in a different way that it's not limited by the laws we currently have in reality.
Ah Full Metal Panic Fumofu I honestly prefer it over the original because it was more comedic than the original and was easier to understand when I was younger, also in Super Smash Bros I always played as Samus but I haven't played any of the games after Brawl on the Wii because I just haven't been interested in it as much I used to be. I kind of don't understand why they split Zero Suit Samus and Armored Samus it just didn't make all that much sense to me and probably never will.
Serious Question. What significant connection do you have to a character of the opposite sex? Did you ever feel strange about it?
When it comes to fiction I honestly dont really care about gender- as long as a story and it's characters are written well I'll enjoy it- I'd say I have an equal ammount of favorite characters I can look up to of either gender
Thing is I've read, watched and listened to so many stories over the years that whenever I encounter something new I can usually predict where a story will go- so when a story genuinely manages to surprise me or do something new with an existing concept- said story genuinely becomes a good story in my book- this also makes it all the more disappointing to me when certain cliches are overused with no attempts to do something new with said cliches
hmm.. i used to feel weird about it especially when i found myself dreaming being them. now i don't feel that weird as my favorite hero is annie leonhardt, not because of how she looks because honestly she's somewhat plain looks wise, but because of her character, how she's hard and disciplined but also shares my morals which few other characters do despite what her fanart shows. being antidrug, antismoking, antialchohal. qualities even superman lacks (he'll drink wine on occassion and i think he's drunk beer.) it doesn't bother me anymore to say some of my fave heroes are female.
as for real women, the only qualifications i truly associate them with to compare to anime women is to match some of the personality traits. things like being strong and disciplined in spirit. (a thing which is almost nonexistent amongst real women sadly. and it's a trait they could immitate same way guys can immitate the cool and aloof character of male anime characters.)
however i don't really expect girls to 'look' like an anime girl. not that it's impossible. ones like saber and annie are fairly grounded and realistic as opposed to harribel from bleach which has a gargantuan chest and small waist and hips. even so, yes, i don't believe women should have control over how women are drawn and depicted. otherwise we could say the same for 'men' depicted in works by women and say they are never allowed to depict them as bishie men and steroid like men are unrealistic expectations. no, they should all be 'dad bod' men to get women interested and associated with the 'natural dad-bod.' when one thinks of it this way one can see the ridiculous notion of a woman trying to control how a fictional woman looks.

I think it might be a whole other topic discussing if people doing that is within the right of freedom of speech.
What next? French maid uniform should only be available for French?

But at least it's an outlet for the people creating it, and enjoyment for those seeing/reading the creation. So I think it's fine to sexualise as long as you're respectful and nice to real people.

As long as no one in the real world is being hurt by fiction I will never understand people being upset by things like this. Keep up the good work.

Dexter's mom quickly comes to mind
Your title says it enough. The title of the video is practically gospel real women shouldn't control What fictional women should look like. As for how to write a fictional female character that's another topic by itself imo anyway
I swear people are losing the ability to determine between reality or fiction these days
@Janeiro I it truly is
How did it become so hard for these freaks to tell reality and fiction apart? I'd think it'd be pretty OBVIOUS.

How did we get here?
I agree with you on that matter.
i'm a girl. a lot of my friends or acquaintances who are girls look down on me for watching anime because they think its only purpose is to entertain pervy men when, really, anime culture has revolved around entertaining all sorts of ideals (not always sexual in nature!) around both men and women, and sometimes even subverting them for a plot point or experimental flair. Thanks for this video, you put my feelings into words extremely well.
Many of the people who complain about fiction media doesn't care and want control. They go after anime because it's popular. Erotica anime did this long ago so why not say something about it then.

The sheer noise "feminists" create is overshadowing what good the others do.
That is a stupid excuse for Feminists and just leave anime alone.

It's not a bold question, it is telling people to grow up.
I already knew about this controversial topic but glad to hear it getting more attention

My General opinion on this is you like what you like well I like what I like

I think you should have the avatar push the glasses upward every once in a while.
Lol. I don’t have the technology atm but it’s a great idea.
Even before watching your video. I 100% agree just from title alone
But ofcourse that dosent mean you have to like it tough.

this is very apparent with ChatterBate's Melody, a Virtual Girl a la Kizuna Ai, but for the 18+ crowd. her first show set a record for "tips" given. the 3D (real) girls of ChatterBate cried, "Foul!" and complained that a "cartoon character" shouldn't be allowed to compete with them. but Melody was original and straight-up fun plus she filled a niche for the kind of people you mention here: ones that are uncomfortable objectifying and sex-ifying real women but are comfortable around a waifu.

I want to draw beautiful, sexy, cool, and awesome females. Leave me be.
I mean you said it all so good work
Also thank you for interducing me amagi Brilliant park through your waifu polls
And last note people just need to separate fantasy from reality I love anime cause it's not reality and i dont expect it to be so i would t watch a ecchi like interspeices reviewers then complain that there aren't brothels of sexy women cause its anime and a pretty funny one at that
That Kill la Kill fighter looks legit tho
It’s fun but WAY too short.
@@OtakuDaiKun I'm not super surprised considering the length of its source material. Still, looks like it could be a good on-sale purchase. :D
What kinds of big guys?
I mean physically big but I think I'm wrong about this I dont remember what my argument was about.
@@narudayo5053
I think that is because of the popularity of the "gap moe" culture in Japan as well as the stereotypical "gentle giant" archetype.
a man of culture I see~ much respect.
I see. What are your reasons for encouraging modesty and why does KLK work for you?
Also this conversation can be with buff man and fat man as well
But I think it more kinder to us because a fat guy can be a shonen character as well so that is relatable
Can u do a a video of Artoria vs Siegfried I really don’t know because seigfreied does 1/2 damage from dragons and does twice as much to a dragon and Artoria has dragon blood
Though I don’t know about the mustang comparison applies since he’s just saying he has the authority to change that uniform
They’re already forced to wear a uniform saying that he’ll change the female unified isn’t really the same to me even though yes screaming in a hallway that you’ll do that Hawkeye’s response keeps his fantasy well fantasy and brotherhood proves it
Well it would be changing a uniform meant to be professional into one for his gratification.
great video daikun I really found it interesting and you made great arguments to strenghten your believes and it was very good i agree with your points
You sir should be a spokesperson for anime and fiction. Spread the word worldwide that Fiction is fiction and you never should blur the line with reality...
Totally agree
Great vid
Love your content
this may have nothing to do with this video but a question from a previous one.(btw this a long one). since i showed my cousin Kill la kill i was wondering what if they were in FGO:

Ragyo: berserker/caster (dunno) outfits: same throught all the ascencions.
p.s. i only used the seven common classes+ i also was working with avenger class. if you disagree or have ideas for NPs comment bellow
Good point and video
It's called "FEMALE OWN GROUP PREFERENCE" look it up [Women side with other Women over Men]
You don't see Men saying they own male characters because Men have "MALE OUT GROUP PREFERENCE" [Men side with Women over other Men {Even Gay Men do this}]
Female own group preference is as predicable as water being wet.
It's the same kind of thing. Women worry that our objectifying of fictional characters will lead to objectifying them.
Hearing someone call it "cootie culture" made me die inside ngl
Great vid excellent wisdom and your right fictional characters are well not real as long as real people are respected it’s fine
(reads title)
(salutes, deadpan).....Godspeed, you brave fool.
if you don't like what the Creator makes go find something else to watch or consume not everyone has Hang-Ups about sexuality
If one can't properly understand that fantasy is fantasy and reality is reality.
Well you'll get it, if not,(play any tragic songs).
I'm ultimately disappointed by the direction Full Metal Panic went in with its latest season.
@@OtakuDaiKun I honestly haven't kept up with it should I rewatch it from the beginning?
They split the character because the 3Ds couldn’t handle the transformation and moveset change.
