My top 10 and short explanation of each for anyone who is unfamiliar with them 1) Heir to the Empire trilogy (aka Thrawn trilogy. A legends story that was essentially Episodes 7-9 until Disney, set with the original trilogy cast and birth of Leia's first kids (twins). Most of Timothy Zahn's other works are sequels or prequels to this, so if you like it seek them out.) 2) KOTOR 1 & 2 (1 is a love note to the original trilogy, 2 is a deconstruction. I personally way prefer the second) 3) Darth Plagues (for all the reasons you said) 4) Tales of the Jedi/Dawn of the Jedi (both Legends but fill the same itch, essentially the foundation of The Sith but pre rule of 2, and foundation of the Jedi) 5) Darth Bane trilogy (Legends story, foundation of the Sith's rule of 2) 6) The animated shows Clone Wars (Legends), Clone Wars (Canon), Rebels (canon). (Again a same itch kinda thing so clumped together. The first Clone Wars covers things like the origin of Gervious, the next one was done by Lucas so you get Jar Jar arcs but beyond that like the video stated explains Anakin's fall much better, Rebels is the lead up to Rogue One and the original movie) 7) Marvel's Star Wars & Star Wars Darth Vader comics (Canon) (for same reasons the video stated, just note the video didn't cover that Darth Vader crosses over with Star Wars a lot though, so both are required for the full story. It's spinoff Doctor Aphra is off to a great start too). 8) Tie Fighter video game (Legends) (Essentially a what if you where a pilot for the Empire story, you join cults and everything. Get to be Darth Vader's wingman for a bit, escorts the Emperor, and serve under Grand Admiral Thrawn for most of the rest of it) 9) Dark Forces and Jedi Knight video games (Legends) (essentially stealing the death star plans, fighting Dark Troopers (those black stormtroopers but as giant battle Droids that make the prequels look like a joke, then finding out your a Jedi and lightsaber battles from jedi trainee to Jedi Masterhood with your own trainees and everything). 10) anything Matthew Stover. (Legends plus the novel of Revenge of the Sith which makes the movie look bad in comparison. He wrote Shatterpoint that is the story to do Justice to Mace Wind and Traitor which was essentially the downfall of the Legends son of Han and Leia that some speculate Kylo Ren was based off of but way better written. The first one was a standalone, the second one was the middle of a 19 book long series that I'm gonna give an honorable mention to in a second) Honorable Mentions: New Jedi Order (19 book long Legends war. Essentially the Galaxy is invaded from the outside by aliens immune to the force. Pretty much the coming of age of Han and Leia's 3 kids, the original casts finally starting to go old wise masters, and birth of Luke's first kid). Anything else by Timothy Zahn. as mentioned above mostly prequels/sequels to his first series that aren't quite as good as the first but good none the less. Plus Scoundrels, essentially Han loses the money he won from freezing Leia so tries to steal more Oceans Eleven style from other crime lords. The Old Republic trailers... the games are love it or hate it and I sadly side with the later... but the trailers are some of the best things ever done Star Wars wise. Anything James Luceno. Pretty much the guy who wrote Darth Plagues can fix anything or tie anything conflicting stories together. He writes both Legends and Canon. I'd something confused you, see if he's got a book about it. The X-Wing books. for same reason the video stated and I, Jedi which has the same writer but about his force sensitive character who leaves Rogue Squadron to become a Jedi solely to free his fiancé who's been kidnapped (written way before Attack of the Clones said Jedi didn't form attachments or get married) Republic Commando (books and game, all legends. essentially what the Clone troopers are but way more adult than the Clone Wars kids tv shows). Brian Daily Han Solo trilogy. essentially the Legends Han Solo back story. Legacy vol 1 and 2 (essentially legends stories set hundred plus of years in the future. First deals with Luke's decent and him on the run from himself and the galaxy, the second pretty much a Han/Leia great grand kid who exactly like Rey, minus the force. Their stories are kinda so close tons of rumors of Episode 7 came off like bad rewrites of this series, so many thought they where just wrong lol)
Definitely agree with the list, especially with Lost Stars. That is probably my single favorite book that I have ever read. The tension, passion not only of love but for duty is compelling. Seeing The Galactic Civil War play out “Below Decks” gives more life to the battles in the original trilogy.
1. The Darth Bane Trilogy 2. The Thrawn Trilogy 3. Darth Plagueis 4. Revan (the Novel) 5. The Clone Wars Series 6. Tarkin 7. Outbound Flight 8. Choice of One 9. The Force Unleashed 1/2 10. The Clone Wars Micro Series You see, i like the darker ones :D
Revan takes place a good 2900 years before the Bane trilogy, and the book is a sequel to the KOTOR game so it kind of spoils who Revan is. (Play the game before you look him up seriously it rivals the "I am your father scene") In the Bane trilogy Revan is just a legendary figure of old.
That is really funny what you said at the end because when you were about to announce the number one spot I was yelling at my phone KOTOR KOTOR. You had a very good list thought.
I had no idea there was such juicy star wars content just waiting to be consumed, how foolish i was to think that the movies were all the series had to offer.
Also some series of books that are really good The New Jedi Order Yuuzhan Vong War, Dawn of the Jedi, and of course Knights Of The Old Republic 1&2. Very entertaining stories Highly recommend.
Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void is essential to understanding the roots of Jedi beliefs and the corruption that the Sith caused to the Jedi order of the Old Republic.
Fiachra Mac Aodha and a very sad one too. I cried. But there were a few of those moments in TNJO series. Such dark story telling. And so compelling too. Vergere is one of the best characters in legends, with unknowable motives throughout the storyline. Reminded me of Kreia and Thrawn both.
I have really enjoyed the new Canon Thrawn books too, definitely deserve a good shout out all 3 of them so far. Other good ones too are Phasma and Kenobi
Great list, nice to see the Bane Trilogy gettiing the respect it deserves, severely underappreciated!! I think Bane: Path of Destruction might be the old republic style story most worthy of getting introduced into film.
After your comment about liking non-force sensitive stories and enjoying seeing the military side of two stars I'm extremely surprised that the republic commando series isn't on your list! If you haven't read them, they really enrich the mandalorian culture and what the clone wars was like from behind the scenes. Definitely recommend!!
Not sure how the new Maul comic could contradict Plagueis. Most of the elements of the novel that dealt with Maul were things that tie directly into the Clone Wars TV series, and that's still canon.
It might, if it's blantantly stated that Plagueis is dead and not hiding in the shadows with Sidious watching Maul's training. To Sidious, Maul wasn't a proper apprentice, just a sith assassin like Ventress to Dooku.
Was first introduced to Thrawn playing Tie Fighter back in the 90s; it was a lot of fun, and a pretty good story that transpires during the events of the original trilogy.
I thought the darth plagueis book was an absolute pleasure to read and have read it over five times since, actually I listened but for me it’s a better way of absorbing the story ,the Tarkin novel was also excellent and il check out the new book since it’s been recommended on this channel, keep up the good work.
i loved the Republic Commando series. it got me into reading more and more star wars books. Seeing the war through the eyes of a clone and padawan, really good interactions between characters and even giving clones a culture. It's one of my favorite book series. And I love how it portrays the Mandalorians!
The "Son of Dathomir" comic series is essential for understanding what happened to Maul after his last appearance in the Clone Wars TV series when he was captured by Sidious on Mandalore. Also, the first "Dark Empire" comic series with a resurrected clone Emperor and an all-powerful Luke Skywalker walking a very fine line between good and evil was a very cool story with fantastic artwork. Going way back, although some fans may cringe or laugh, the very first Star Wars sequel personally authorized by George Lucas in 1978, "Splinter of the Mind's Eye," is very near and dear to my nostalgic heart (both the original novel by Alan Dean Foster and the comic book adaptation done by Dark Horse two decades later). Finally, the "Star Wars: Legacy" comic series with its vision of the galaxy approximately 100 years after the passing of Luke Skywalker was fascinating for all the new characters and changes that had occurred and yet still familiar enough to feel like the Star Wars saga we all know and love (Luke as a Force ghost trying to mentor his drug addict descendant Cade Skywalker provides the main link to the past).
I'm looking into reading some new material! The Darth Vader and Lando comics immediately. For books, Ahsoka and Lost Stars since you gave it such a glowing recommendation. The Thrawn trilogy would be really cool, especially since I'm almost caught up on Rebels. That being said, I would've loved to see a shoutout to Star Wars: Legacy. Yes, it's non-canon, but I thought it was the most fleshed out non-film story and would love to see it adapted in the future. Long live Cade Skywalker!
I would like to see a list of the things that the new canon material makes to the past "Legends" Star Wars stuff. I actually remember watching a Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Easter Egg video where it points out a creature seen in one of the EWOK MOVIES! So yeah, they're definitely there.
I am wholly with you on the “canon until not” for the books you applied it to. Also Lost Stars is SOOOOO good but I want a follow up because I want to see what becomes of these characters into the Cold War and first order crisi
Oh my god THANK YOU! Ive been saying for ages how Darth Plaguies's book is actually a canon Grey area. There are also small nods made to this book in Lords of the Sith which is also another awesome canon novel.
I was glad to see you added the Jedi Knight series of games, those are some of my favorite Star Wars Games/Stories to play through. I was however disappointed to not see Knights of the Old Republic or Revan on this list. I feel like his story is most well known outside of the 7 or 8 movies out of any star wars story and he's also one of the most bad ass star wars characters there are. Almost everyone's list put's Revan in the top 3 most powerful jedi of all time as well as top 3 most powerful sith of all time. I think it is a must story for any star wars fan.
First and foremost I would like to thank you on your recommendations. I just finished reading both Blood lines and Lost Stars and was completely blown away! I was wondering if you could please make a video on thorough review of Lost Stars and was wondering who your favorite author is in the new canon??
The New Jedi Order series is one of my all time favorites. Also, I enjoyed reading The Dark Nest trilogy, because we finally see Luke and Leia find out about their mother.
Lost Stars...such a good book! I've read it three times so far! I recommend it! And to anyone who might be thinking, "should I read this book???" YES! Read it!
I would also highly recommend the Path of the Jedi and Book of Sith books. They are great lore texts that explain the training and history behind Jedi and Sith practices, and they each have a handful of known characters who had owned the books and made notes in them (such as Obi-Wan, Yoda, Windu, Maul, Sidious, Luke, to name a few).
Thanks so much for this list man! I've seen or read a few of these just on my own, but it's great to have a guide and reasons for checking them and the other works out!
Great video and channel. How about doing a personal story video, focusing on your introduction to Star Wars and growth through the years as a fan. Also, your reactions to all the events of 2012.
I say if you're a fan of the rebellion then you should pick up Battlefront: Twilight Company by Alexander Freed. Also pickup Before The Awakening it gives more depth to the three main characters from The Force Awakens.
Darth Vader Comics was the first and best Star Wars Comic series I have read start to finish. Vader Down is THE best thing ever, and I would adore to see it animated or film which would never happen, but its nice to dream.
I'm not too much of an EU nerd, don't take this seriously: My Top 10 Non-Film Stories 1. Jedi Knight Games 2. The Clone Wars 3. Thrawn Novels 4. X-Wing Novels 5. Lost Stars 6. The Mandalorian 7. Darth Vader Comics 8. Shadows of the Empire 9. Star Wars Rebels 10. Bloodline
Kenobi by John Jackson Miller is a great book, in my opinion. It tells the story of Obi-Wan showing up to Tatooine with Baby Luke and dropping him off to Uncle Owen, what his life is like on Tatooine and why he takes up the name "Ben". It's great. Give it a read.
Reading Lost Stars atm. I agree, it's incredible. I was thinking about the title though. I think it's referring to what Ciena always says. That so many good hearted people (both imperials and rebels) are wasted during the war... What's your interpretation? Or maybe there is an official one?
I have heard a good theory that Thane kyrell and ciena ree are rey's parents. It makes sense considering the book ends with them on jakku, they would be the perfect age. Also it would make sense for them to have to flee jakku running from the empire since Thane was a deserter. I'm not saying I believe this theory, but it has a good argument.
I was under the impression that Ciena was dark skinned. Rey is pretty fair skinned so I don't think this theory is true. However, I love the idea. Lost Stars is by far my favorite canon book.
Cody Lashley yeah that is one of the things I thought of when I heard this theory, although Thane was very white so you never know...but I think this is just me wanting it to be true.
really like your channel, its not like those channel that you her everyone talking about all the time... not to say you dont have a lot of subscribers i just like that if i comment theres more of a chance of you replying than not so just thank you for the great videos and hope you have a good holiday
Can you do the same video but only with Legends? I'm familiar with all the canon books and comics, but only a few legends books. Thanks for this channel btw, it's amazing!
Decent list; however for me personally, I Jedi is my favourite EU novel. I'd also consider the Dark Apprentice trilogy since we got introduced to a lot of cool characters such as Daala and Kyp. That being said we'd probably need a top 25 to fit in a lot of the materials to do semi justice at least haha
You definitely needed Republic Commando on this list. Honestly a better story series than the Bloodlines story. And no KOTOR? Bro! Even TOR deserves a mention, some of those class story lines were amazing! I agree about the XWing series, one of the series that got me in to the EU back in the day. Pretty good list overall, as these are all pretty enjoyable.
Plagueis is my all time favorite book and second favorite story from the star wars universe. I'd do anything for it to become canon, even if it has to be altered in some small way.
Going for mostly Legends content because I have a lot to read up on, but: 1. Knights of the Old Republic games and comics. 2. Star Wars Republic comic. 3. Star Wars Legacy comic. 4. Darth Bane Trilogy. 5. Thrawn Trilogy. 6. Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. 7. The Clone Wars both shows. 8. Crimson Empire comic. 9. Dark Times comics. 10. Rebels show.
Damn it I knew I forgot something: Shadows of the Empire! Book, comic, game, get it all! Also Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand if you want a strong introduction to the character.
While not adding KOTOR is pretty much a sin, this is still a super solid list with stories that I love. Good job man. Also... Bane Trilogy > Darth Plagueis
good list but you forgot 3 important stories: Knights of the Old Republic, the New Jedi Order series of novels and the Legacy of the Force series of novels. Force Awakens took a lot of inspiration from Legacy of the Force especially from Jacen Solo who was the blueprint for Kylo Ren. In a way Legacy of the Force was reshaped into Force Awakens as there are many similarities between the film and the books.
Did not expect lost stars to be so high. It's a pleasant surprise though. But for anyone reading this who hasn't read lost stars, it's a romantic drama so it might not be for you
Thanks alot for this great list. I deffinitly have to pick up some of this books. Until now the darth bane trilogy are my favorites but lets see if this can change :D
I thought I, Jedi was pretty great. Had a lot of parallels to Kyle Katarns story. The main character had flaws and development. His perspective gave a great insight into Luke's Jedi academy and the unique differences between Force sensitive individuals (ie, the different talents of each Jedi) And who doesn't want a silver lightsaber? It also managed to cross pathos with a lot of others characters story threads without derailing the main story.
From the books I've read (I've read all of canon but only a handful of Legends) 1. Darth Bane Trilogy 2. Thrawn/Thrawn Alliances 3. Thrawn Trilogy (so far I've only read book 1) 4. Bloodline 5. Darth Plageuis 6. Labyrinth of Evil 7. Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader 8. Lost Stars 9. Aftermath Trilogy 10. Lords of the Sith
Darth Plagueis by James Luceno needs to become canon.
Agreed. It's frustratingly close to it, too.
Star Wars Legacy agreed
Agreed
Star Wars Legacy yeah. But the Darth Bane trilogy either.
Made even more frustrating by the fact that Lucas himself gave Luceno some facts about Plagueis including his species.
Lost Stars is an incredible read, and the Vader comic is insanely good.
Lost Stars floored me. What a brilliant book
Brad Wright ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I’m so happy you gave Lost Stars the number 1 spot. It’s my favorite Star Wars book
Lost Stars is amazing!!!
My top 10 and short explanation of each for anyone who is unfamiliar with them
1) Heir to the Empire trilogy (aka Thrawn trilogy. A legends story that was essentially Episodes 7-9 until Disney, set with the original trilogy cast and birth of Leia's first kids (twins). Most of Timothy Zahn's other works are sequels or prequels to this, so if you like it seek them out.)
2) KOTOR 1 & 2 (1 is a love note to the original trilogy, 2 is a deconstruction. I personally way prefer the second)
3) Darth Plagues (for all the reasons you said)
4) Tales of the Jedi/Dawn of the Jedi (both Legends but fill the same itch, essentially the foundation of The Sith but pre rule of 2, and foundation of the Jedi)
5) Darth Bane trilogy (Legends story, foundation of the Sith's rule of 2)
6) The animated shows Clone Wars (Legends), Clone Wars (Canon), Rebels (canon). (Again a same itch kinda thing so clumped together. The first Clone Wars covers things like the origin of Gervious, the next one was done by Lucas so you get Jar Jar arcs but beyond that like the video stated explains Anakin's fall much better, Rebels is the lead up to Rogue One and the original movie)
7) Marvel's Star Wars & Star Wars Darth Vader comics (Canon) (for same reasons the video stated, just note the video didn't cover that Darth Vader crosses over with Star Wars a lot though, so both are required for the full story. It's spinoff Doctor Aphra is off to a great start too).
8) Tie Fighter video game (Legends) (Essentially a what if you where a pilot for the Empire story, you join cults and everything. Get to be Darth Vader's wingman for a bit, escorts the Emperor, and serve under Grand Admiral Thrawn for most of the rest of it)
9) Dark Forces and Jedi Knight video games (Legends) (essentially stealing the death star plans, fighting Dark Troopers (those black stormtroopers but as giant battle Droids that make the prequels look like a joke, then finding out your a Jedi and lightsaber battles from jedi trainee to Jedi Masterhood with your own trainees and everything).
Honorable Mentions:

Literally just finished Lost Stars yesterday. Great, great book... totally agree with you!
Loved the Darth Bane Trilogy. Wish movies were made of them.
I completely agree im huge fan of the Darth Bane trilogy it actually made me go to the darkside, LOL😀
I agree 👍But Disney would butcher it.
Definitely agree with the list, especially with Lost Stars. That is probably my single favorite book that I have ever read. The tension, passion not only of love but for duty is compelling. Seeing The Galactic Civil War play out “Below Decks” gives more life to the battles in the original trilogy.
Agree. I had to rewatch the Original Trilogy and this time it all felt more alive. Like when Palps and Vader do the hall walk on TROTJ
1. The Darth Bane Trilogy
2. The Thrawn Trilogy
3. Darth Plagueis
4. Revan (the Novel)
5. The Clone Wars Series
6. Tarkin
7. Outbound Flight
8. Choice of One
9. The Force Unleashed 1/2
10. The Clone Wars Micro Series
You see, i like the darker ones :D
Is revan set before the darth bane trilogy, which one should I read first?
I'm getting the darth bane books and old republic books too for Christmas
Revan takes place a good 2900 years before the Bane trilogy, and the book is a sequel to the KOTOR game so it kind of spoils who Revan is. (Play the game before you look him up seriously it rivals the "I am your father scene") In the Bane trilogy Revan is just a legendary figure of old.
i played kotor 1 already
Oh yea, Bane is my Nr.1 too. I just love these books and this amazing view into the dark side.
That is really funny what you said at the end because when you were about to announce the number one spot I was yelling at my phone KOTOR KOTOR. You had a very good list thought.
#10-1
Star Wars Holiday Special.
I really need to get into the books and comics. It's amazing how much stuff is out there for this franchise.
Thanks for choosing Lost Stars as number one! I love that book!
Day vong war doe..... Damn some epic shit happened
Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void is essential to understanding the roots of Jedi beliefs and the corruption that the Sith caused to the Jedi order of the Old Republic.
Jimmy Turner vong won't work. Han lives, chewie died
Your Dad's Metal Band ahhh yes forgot about that
Fiachra Mac Aodha and a very sad one too. I cried. But there were a few of those moments in TNJO series. Such dark story telling. And so compelling too.
Vergere is one of the best characters in legends, with unknowable motives throughout the storyline. Reminded me of Kreia and Thrawn both.
Kyle katarn is so awesome
This is a good list. Lords of the Sith and Tarkin are a couple of my favorite books from the new canon.
Great to see two videos today, Alex, and, of course, both were fantastic! I hope to see more days formatted like this soon!!!
Really missed the boat not including either of the KOTOR games on this, but still some great entries!
Lost Stars is seriously one of my favourite books of all time.
I loved the Darth bane trilogy
I have really enjoyed the new Canon Thrawn books too, definitely deserve a good shout out all 3 of them so far. Other good ones too are Phasma and Kenobi
I've been wanting to jump into the books for a while now and this list is exactly what I needed: a "where to start guide!" Appreciate it so much!
Star Wars Holiday Special should be canon everyone have a wonderful Life Day
Great list, nice to see the Bane Trilogy gettiing the respect it deserves, severely underappreciated!! I think Bane: Path of Destruction might be the old republic style story most worthy of getting introduced into film.
Where's Lords of the Sith in this list? Great book!
Lost stars was amazing
After your comment about liking non-force sensitive stories and enjoying seeing the military side of two stars I'm extremely surprised that the republic commando series isn't on your list! If you haven't read them, they really enrich the mandalorian culture and what the clone wars was like from behind the scenes. Definitely recommend!!
I'd heard good things about Lost Stars. I even have it on my Audible wish list. Time to grab it.
the fact KOTOR isnt on this list is a crime lol
but it's not essential
Oh it’s essential. 👌🏼👌🏼
What about death troopers
KOTOR's story is really nothing more than a typical amnesia story with a Star Wars twist. KOTOR2 had a much better, more unique story.
Lost stars isn't really essential either. The Thrawn trilogy or Plagueis should be number one.
Great video, I loved the format. I would definitely be interested in more like this one!
the Darth Maul comic that's coming in a couple of months could contradict Darth Plagueis, couldn't it?
Or it could hopefully canonize it!!!!
Not sure how the new Maul comic could contradict Plagueis. Most of the elements of the novel that dealt with Maul were things that tie directly into the Clone Wars TV series, and that's still canon.
Maul's origin story in Plagueis is different from the canon version.
It might, if it's blantantly stated that Plagueis is dead and not hiding in the shadows with Sidious watching Maul's training. To Sidious, Maul wasn't a proper apprentice, just a sith assassin like Ventress to Dooku.
KikBlava I'd disagree with that just judging from their confrontation on Mandalore. "You have been REPLACED [by Dooku]".
Lost Stars is one of my favorite books ever. I'm re reading it right now
This video was very helpful been trying to get into the Legend's scene and your videos help me to understand it all. Well Well done
Was first introduced to Thrawn playing Tie Fighter back in the 90s; it was a lot of fun, and a pretty good story that transpires during the events of the original trilogy.

Lost Stars is SO GOOD. It's like 600 pages and I read it in 2 days. At Disney World. I cannot recommend it enough!

The New Jedi Order series is one of my all time favorites. Also, I enjoyed reading The Dark Nest trilogy, because we finally see Luke and Leia find out about their mother.
What about labyrinth of evil? I consider it a great book regarding the trade federation and many clone wars aspects which are left aside.
Lost Stars...such a good book! I've read it three times so far! I recommend it! And to anyone who might be thinking, "should I read this book???" YES! Read it!
Lost stars is outstanding. I’m just mad that Claudia isn’t writing more SW like this.
Corran Horn, Mirax, and Gavin Darklighter are my favorite characters
I would also highly recommend the Path of the Jedi and Book of Sith books. They are great lore texts that explain the training and history behind Jedi and Sith practices, and they each have a handful of known characters who had owned the books and made notes in them (such as Obi-Wan, Yoda, Windu, Maul, Sidious, Luke, to name a few).
Thanks so much for this list man! I've seen or read a few of these just on my own, but it's great to have a guide and reasons for checking them and the other works out!
Wow gotta check out Lost Stars.
I have just recently been reading sat there plagueis and it is masterful
I 100% agree with you about Lost Stars...
Just in time for Christmas. Thanks.
I really enjoyed the The Old Republic books, but I wouldn't say all of them are essential, but definitely worth a read.
Death troopers is an incredible book. I wish they'd make a live action or animated film based directly from the book.
I'm not too much of an EU nerd, don't take this seriously: My Top 10 Non-Film Stories
1. Jedi Knight Games
2. The Clone Wars
3. Thrawn Novels
4. X-Wing Novels
5. Lost Stars
6. The Mandalorian
7. Darth Vader Comics
8. Shadows of the Empire
9. Star Wars Rebels
10. Bloodline
0:55 ... So Kanan Jarrus?
Really nice looking vid!
really like your channel, its not like those channel that you her everyone talking about all the time... not to say you dont have a lot of subscribers i just like that if i comment theres more of a chance of you replying than not
so just thank you for the great videos and hope you have a good holiday
aw thank you, hope you have a great holiday as well!
thank you for replying
The Darth Bane books are awesome! definetely a must read!
Shadows of the Empire should be canon
Stackpole and Zahn are great. both have really good fiction outside starwars.
I would suggest The Ahsoka Novel as it is a very good book. For any Ahsoka fans or clone wars fans.
You forgot Knights of the Old Republic. My favorite legends story
Also Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand if you want a strong introduction to the character.
please do more videos with syfy wire! this was great
I'm hoping to get some of these books for Christmas. Great list.
William DeMarco Merry Christmas.
Lost Stars is the best Star Wars book. Really.
While not adding KOTOR is pretty much a sin, this is still a super solid list with stories that I love. Good job man.
Also...
Bane Trilogy > Darth Plagueis
Could you make a list of your favourite star wars novels from the canon?
Bloodline is my favourite canon book.
we need an updated list alex! or a ranking of all the novels/where people should start and where they can skip
Knights of the Old Republic is a huge omission imo
At least make it an honorable mention officially rather than just saying it at the end like the comment section will be mad
1. Dark Empire 1
2. Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy
3. Revenge of the Sith novelization
4. Han Solo Trilogy (Ann Crispin)
5. First 4 X-Wing novels
6. Jedi Apprentice series
7. Han Solo adventures (Brian Daley)
8. Clone Wars comics (Dark Horse)
9. Shatterpoint
10. Darth Bane trilogy
good list but you forgot 3 important stories: Knights of the Old Republic, the New Jedi Order series of novels and the Legacy of the Force series of novels.
But for anyone reading this who hasn't read lost stars, it's a romantic drama so it might not be for you
I love these videos
could you do either a summary or give your opinion about Dark Empire? really curious to hear your thoughts
Daniel Hann I think that it was pretty good. I'm happy it's not canon though. It wouldn't make sense.
Thanks alot for this great list. I deffinitly have to pick up some of this books. Until now the darth bane trilogy are my favorites but lets see if this can change :D
Hey the Jedi knight games, love those ❤️😊
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Clone Wars 2D and Labyrinth of Evil are the ones that I would have added.
Plagueis is just so damn good. It takes my number one spot
From the books I've read (I've read all of canon but only a handful of Legends)
1. Darth Bane Trilogy
2. Thrawn/Thrawn Alliances
3. Thrawn Trilogy (so far I've only read book 1)
4. Bloodline
5. Darth Plageuis
6. Labyrinth of Evil
7. Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader
8. Lost Stars
9. Aftermath Trilogy
10. Lords of the Sith
