  • Showing how my DIY solar power system is powering everything in the house while charging both the home battery and the EV all at the same time. DIY solar can cut your utility bills and your gas bills down to near zero.

And people are against EV's...but you got the right set up for it

Yes. I think a lot of folks are against EV's because they have been misled by the incredible amount of FUD being pushed by all forms of media. I think eventually people will have a friend or family member who gets an EV and then they will get a 1st hand experience with it. Once that happens, its game over. Especially for folks who like being self sufficient. Being dependent on gas or diesel is like being dependent on the grocery store vs. having an EV and solar is like having your own garden. Thanks!

You are correct. Plus, most people can’t give up their razors, new lifted 4wd trucks, new homes, new adulterer spouses, three vacations per summer in order to afford a pv system. I did too. 47kWp, 220kWh of DIY LFP, Sol-Arks, Shneiders, Magnum, junky 6500ex.

@rv10flyer84 I'm also on renewable energy, the only difference is I look as to be as efficient as possible with my energy production, I like creating systems that work using as little as possible, I would only increase my energy production to get a EV.

You're a genius...smartest thing one can do when owning an EV car. Excess juice too...dam envious! Are you gonna put some panels atop the chicken coop? It looks like it has enough space and a decent angle/slope. One helluva solar homestead!

Hey Chris, I really love that black roof look on the coop so I am probably not going to add panels there (although that would be super easy to wire into from there). That said, I am definitely not ruling out adding more panels somewhere as I am addicted to solar. Thanks!

I would like a solar generator for emergencies. Would the eco flow delta pro with the two 400w panels be a great option? I have talked to solar companies but they always take hours my time before they can give a price. Thanks for the vids.

My wife and I are waiting for next year to get an EV9. Just didn't want the first year production. They are doing two way charging/inverting like the f150 lightning.

Sounds good. I really REALLY wish the Model Y had a 240AC output. That would be a game changer for sure. It would not surprise me if the typical home had 100kWh of battery in 10 years from now.

@@HomesteadEngineering Yeah I just want access to that 90 kwh battery if there is an extended outage. I have the same eg4 battery and to be able to tripple it is just too good.

@@av1204 When I replaced my FLA with the 30kWh EG4 I thought it would take a while to outgrow but I am already thinking maybe I should have gone with 60kWh. That said, I think the car battery will solve that problem a lot even if its not V2H.

@@HomesteadEngineering for sure I could make it on 30 kwh but Id definitley have to pull out the pto generator if it was cloudy more than a few days.
