OMG love this...like a work of art! Looks like that black kitty wanted to help
Thanks Chris, that's my helper cat. Are you keeping those batteries warm out there? :)
Yep, those heat pads did the trick. This upcoming week, 60's for highs. I can't wait to see your power numbers in full sun. How long to get those last wires?
Nice work. Been enjoying watching the progress
Thanks 👍
Nice.
Thanks!
What size wire are u useing brother...
Number 8 from the combiner to the power wall (80ft). The panels are wired with number 10. I might have upped it to number 6 (to the power wall) in case I replace the panels with twice the Wattage in the future but the price was just too much.
After hurricane Maria, I got PTSD, I couldn't leave all those wires coming from the solar panels to the combiner boxes exposed, I know it's perfectly fine because its RH /RW cable, but my PTSD sees flying debris missing everything except those cables, but if someone on UA-cam has the knowledge , experience and tools to practically fix anything is you, Everything looks great.
Yes, The more you can protect the wires the better. I did put the returns that run across the back of the array in conduit but its not ALL protected. Thanks!
Do you need permits where you are for this stuff or does it matter? We need permits here but to me it doesnt matter. Lol
Yes, In our town you pretty much need a permit to wake up in the morning. I did a detail video of our plans that we submitted to permitting on both the original roof mount and the 1st ground mount. Here is the ground mount version:
