Which castle is the most beautiful or the most interesting is hard to say and probably very subjective, with thousands of castles and castle ruins. Eltz castle is certainly one of them. As north rhine-westphalia, of course, I like Altena castle. Incidentally, there is also a "youth hostel" in the castle where adults can stay overnight at very reasonable prices
We haven't heard of Altena castle before but it looks great. We will definitely check it out. We're always looking for new and off the beaten path locations so this is great. Thanks for the recommendation!
Castles upon castles, and everyone has their favorite castle .... I like the water castle Vischering in Westphalia or, if you like it imposing. Nordkirchen Castle
We have never heard of Vischering or Nordkirchen castles but both castles are about 4 hours from Leipzig. We will have to plan a weekend trip to Münster soon. Thank you so much for letting us know! Anything else you recommend for us to check out in Münster?
Im a big fan of castlelinn in krefeld i love this damn castle since my first elementary school excursion, needless to say in the "pott" (im from duisburg) we dont have much castles cause of ww1 and 2 sadly
Maybe you remember the Deutsche Mark? The currency which was changed to Euro? The Burg Eltz on a note was the best you could have in your wallet: It was printed on the 1000 - Mark-Note. Sighs.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to like and subscribe so you don’t miss any great travel content.
Love it! My favorite BIL took us for a tour.
We'll have to take your girls on a real tour in the Spring. Can't wait!
How about the "Burg Thurant" on the Mozel ?
I'm not familiar with Burg Thurant, but I'll check it out and try to go visit there.
Na, what about Burg Cochem or the Wartburg, where Martin Luther lived?
May you also take a look at castle Lichtenstein near Stuttgart. Not as old as Eltz but very pretty 🤗
But it could also be that I am somehow missed 😉
I'll check it out!

We want more of the dog
We will try our best to feature Mocha again soon. :)
The Counts of Eltz pay good money to roofers.
