Does Eltz castle hosts weddings?
"Burg Eltz" is in the same family for more than 800 years and she survived all wars unscathed. Every generation has something to build. Middle Ages, Gohtik, Baroque, to find everything. That's why the castle is so neat.
And if she looks familiar? She was over 30 years on the back of the 500 DM bill
She is probably the model template for every knight movie
I simply love castles and cute, stone villages of Europe! I can not wait explore that continent for the next few years!
u will enjoy it ^^
Bamburgh castle is great I am from England there is great castles here inhabited and ruined
Wartburg Castle is one that we love to visit when we are in Germany!
loving these castles:) :) :)
Me too I just wish I had somebody like that to travel with
Pretty close to this castle, on the Moselle river, there's a town called Trier.
It's Germany's oldest town, and used to be a Roman capital.
Yes, you've heard that right. Roman Emperors actually had their main seat there, and in ancient times, it had the nickname "Second Rome".
The town itself is ancient, and there's a lot of Roman architecture still present there today.
The region is also pretty famous for its white wine, and lots of local wineries offer taste tests.
Trier is beautiful, and there's lots to do and lots to see.
If you're ever in the region again, you should definitely check it out!
Thanks for your nice comment. Wish to visit Trier, Moselle region is so beautiful!
Wow that's awesome! Thanks for the info! I'm planning to travel to the Mosel region next year and will definitely stop by Trier now that I know of its history
Trier is wonderful. Actually the whole of the Moselle valley is such a great place to visit that we visited twice. Burg Eltz is well worth the entry fee. We stayed in a self catering property in Enkirch called Weigut Stiftshof just outside Traben Trabach. Enkirch is a lovely medieval village. Full of character. The first year we visited we were there for the Traben Trabach wine fest. Great experience, including live music. The second year we experienced our host’s own wine fest, as he had his own vineyard (excellent wines too). He’d also organised live music.
I love the white wine of this region.
That 1st castle was like a castle in a fairytale. I kept saying wow...sooo beautiful
Red dress and nice hat all are great for nice photos with the beautiful castle
The German castle looks so old but it's amazing, reminds this in some of the movies.
Most german Castles where re-build (or new build) in 18th, 19th century (german romantic time period) Burg Eltz is one of the few castles that is really old (12th century) and only restaurated (with respect to the existing architecture in the 19th century). It was never captured even there was a lot of conflicts in this area. It's owned since 800 years by members of the same family and was on the back side of the 500DM note
de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burg_Eltz#/media/File:500_DM_Serie3_Rueckseite.jpg
most of those arent real or authentic castles, they didnt had any defensive purpose.
You can easily tell from the lack of a real gatehouse with murder-holes, no outer ward, no crenelations and machicolations. The tiny towers also hadnt any purpose other than for the looks of it.
As soon as I saw the castle I know this will be an exceptional vlog
I love the details of the castle is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing guys. Enjoy traveling and keep safe. 😍👍🏽👏🏽
wow! that's amazing! will surely visit Burg Eltz soon. Thanks for the video.
I think Neuschwanstein is the most impressive castle in Germany. Didn't see many of Germany but I fell in love instantly.
Andrei Pisarciuc The Name is Neuschwanstein !🤥
You should visit the castle in Schwerin. It is stunning as well and has beautiful gardens around and is build on an island in the middle of a lake

You guys MUST visit Rothenburg if it's not already on the agenda! It is the perfect fairytail town. It's where they filmed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Don't miss it!
PS it's a fortified town on a hill so it's almost like a massive castle

Check out the "Wartburg" in Eisenach and the "Burg Hohenzollern" in Bisingen...Those are my favourites. But you are right there are many castles and strongholds in Germany so I myself have to vistit many more of them^^
Yes!! Hohenzollern is beautiful!! I visited this past July. I also think everything in Germany is beautiful ❤️
Yes, but those were built/rebuilt in the romantic period. Burg Eltz is legit
You should try the castle in Schwerin. It's just stunning, also with the lake and gardens around it

Georgeous castles! Really looking forward to your upcoming UK vids. I went to Wales for the first time this summer and loved it. Especially the little fishing town of Tenby and walking along the Pembrokeshire coastal path - stunning views! Highly recommend it you're still in the region.

In my opinion you should visit the castle of Hohenzollern in Baden-Württemberg.
And while you're at it, go see Burg Liechtenstein near Reutlingen. Small but cute
Those 2 castles were my favorite.
Hohenzollern.... Wilhelm 1 ....3 .... I prefer Burgund and Chur-Cölln....

Great video, both castles look epic. Well done on the early start, really should try that more often. Look forward to seeing what you guys get up to in the uk. Hope the weather is better than you normally experience here.
It's kind of like Sleeping Beauty's castle from the outside. Very majestic!
👍👍
If you are still in the area, I highly recommend Rheinstein Castle along the Rhine river. It's amazing!
Oh what beautiful castles! I love watching you guys explore them and show us all around. The bees were a great comical addition, if not slightly terrorizing for you two jajaja. Well done, show us more!!
The castle in wernigerode is beautiful! And the town makes it even more gorgeous!
This was such a stunning episode! 😊
The walk from Moselkern to the castle through the wood and along a brook is absolutely marvellous.
This seems to be such a charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Great shots of the castle. I'm amazed you've yet to be stung by bees!
This is the most beautiful castle
and this is why this castle was on the former 500 DM bill
Ive been there last summer. Amazing!! I life close by the german border in the netherlands, and my goal is to visit as much german castles as possible.
@@timgoorman You should visit Burg Nideggen, which is quite near to the Netherlands. It was unfortunately partly destoryed in the 16th century during a fight between the german emporer and the duke of Jülich with these new weapons - canons. But still impressive and the small town of Nideggen has still town gates in pretty good condition and nice old town. The duke of Jülich build after that a new Zitadelle and town fortification in Jülich - the first north of the alpes constructed for canons in mind with bastions. Unfortunately Jülich was very destroyed after WW2 - but the fortifications are still standing strong - which were the aim of the allied air bombings. Also the giant bridge head added to the fortifications by the french under Napoleon is in quite good condition.
So excited for your future trips!
Such a wonderful vlog .... I wanna go 😎
The Castle HOHENZOLLERN is pretty neat
LOVE that you had the glass of wine the whole way up the stairs!

i think the bees are attracted to the colors you wear :D
Visited this castle summer 2016 and have to agree, it’s a fantastic place to visit. You did the right thing getting there early, as it gets very busy later in the day.

Love you guys, definitely the best travel vlogs on UA-cam, very entertaining & very informative. That castle looks absolutely magical, if you love your castles, please visit Leeds Castle which is in Kent, England, it has been claimed to be the loveliest castle in the world & with good reason, it’s well worth a visit when you get the chance again.
We were there a few months ago, I was not in the best of health at the time so I limited my exploration to some inside rooms and the lower area but it is a very impressive experience. I loved the history of it. Enjoyed your exploration of it very much.
History on video, great work
yes!!!! Thank you!!! I am going there in 15 days!
The Moselle Valley is stunning. Cochem is beautiful and moving towards Koblenz and down the Rhine Valley through Boppard, St Goar, Rüdesheim. All amazing.
That looks amazing! And I love that dress 💃
Those castles are amazing ! And i love how all the bees are attacking you guys , its so funny :D
We always have a problem with bees / wasps when we go to Europe for some reason 😂🐝 They just love us over here!
I was there before 2 months it is really worth to visit, fascinating castle
Visited this castle Sept 2019 - Great visit. For those who like castles, this is a must-see. Nice restaurant as well.
Looks like the bees just love you guys 😊😊
I super wish to visit castles soon. I love your videos
That was the most favorite caste of Rick Steve in all of Europe, precisely the Burg Eltz Castle....
Greetings from the Philippines❤❤
I am quite a comics lover, and my home country Belgium has seen quite a lot of great comic book writers.
One of them is Roger Leloup, wit the comic book book character Yoko Tsuno.
Quite a few of the albums take place in Germany, as she has a friend who is a famous organ player from Germany.
And in one of the albums, the Burg Eltz castle is also featured. So it's really cool to see that you guys visited that too :)
Awesome video, as always of course.
Amazing place! My favourites are Leeds Castle in the UK, Carcassone in France and all the chateaux in the Loire valley which are absolutely stunning.
I‘m so proud, my country has the most beautiful castles!😘🇩🇪❤️
Yes! You are so fortunate to live there, i want go but i'm so broke
Nice vlog 😊 I can recommend Bacherach castle and Cochem castle :)
Burg Eltz actually got build in 800. It was planned as a manor at first and at ~1100 it was already a castle and many generations lived there. I think there were more then 35 generations living there
Been to Eltz! Very cool. Favorite castle. My friend took me on a castle tour.
Nice!
You had a nice trip....😊
11:54 perfect shoot. 👍👍👍
love watching
