- Oracle Pre-Runner Lights for the Gladiator JT
Want to add a little more style to your grill? How about a set of Pre-Runner lights from Oracle Lighting? These small LED are designed to easily install in the grill of your Jeep Gladiator JT and your Jeep Wrangler JL. Once installed these lights give you that pre-runner grill look and by adding more running lights to the front of your Jeep, it's going to help make your Jeep a little safer too.
The Pre-Runner light kits are fairly universal, so if you don't have a Wrangler or Gladiator, no worries, if you can figure out which wire feed your running lights, you can probably install these AND that's what DIY is all about.
These Pre-Runner light kits are available in amber and can be had with either a tinted or clear lens.

If you are interested in other colors, Oracle does have different model pre-runner lights in red, green and blue, though check your local rules and regs for all the legalities on running other colors.

These look sooooooo much nicer than the old circle ones. Ordered asap , putting these in my Mojave fake air hood.
Nice! I want red, but will definitely check local laws first. Thank you!
Great guide for the installation
Glad it helped
Nice!
Really enjoy the videos
Awesome complete video instructions. My main concern was connecting to the existing light, and the removal of the fender lining. I already ordered a set for my 2022 Wrangler Rubicon JL. Will the install be similar ? Thank you in advance !
Yes, very similar. Just make sure to double check the wire you tap into.
How do u wire them in if the jeep has the led kit? Are there more directions or vids anywhere? Thanks, don’t want to get it torn apart and be stopped here
Poser lights 😂 Thanks for the vid, going to tackle this soon on the wife's JL
What are poser lights?
Man I hope these last longer than the circle ones they made. They started rusting within weeks and the lenses flew off in a about a month. Went through 3 sets. I love the look just had no success.
These are a poly construction and much nicer.
Followed your process and have a flawless install! 💯 Thank you!!! I do however have the LED package lights so my fender lighting is different internally.. any help/suggestions with that would be AMAZING! thanks again!
What problems are you having?
@@northridgenation so I have the LED package and the inside lights look a bit different from yours when trying to connect them. There’s another install video by Oracle and it looks like they’re splitting the red & black wire - red going to the light & the black being split and grounded closer to the car battery area.
Not super savvy when it comes to this but it just looked different on my end. Would love some help 🙏🏼
Update: Went in and followed the connecting instructions (even though my LED package does look a bit different than the bulb lights) and it worked like a charm. Was nervous about messing up, but just trusted your walkthrough and got it working! Thank you for making this video 🙌🏼
@@joeyvela Great! We're glad you got it worked out.
Question, my connection isn’t working great so I wanted to re do the t taps. Which is the correct ones to order? Thanks
Another great video. So glad I only live 5mi from you! Do you have these in store?
We currently have them in our KY warehouse. Will check to see when they hit here in Silverdale.
It looks like KY warehouse is the only place we have them. Let us know if you want a set and we'll get some transferred up to the Silverdale location.
Nice jod
question why can't you run the red wire up to the fuse box to an acc fuse? so the light come on when you start the jeep?
You can run the wire to whatever 12v power source you want.
When connecting the wiring harness to the t-taps how do you get the red and black wires to stay inside the red connectors. When i place the black and red wires inside the red connector holes they just slide back ouhow do i keep them in place. Thank you
We hold them in place while crimping.
I have a 21 JL, and I just bought these and wired them up to the DRL as instructed. They work fine when dark, or when I manually switch my car's light mode to low beam or side light. But they are off when I switch to AUTO mode and during daytime when I am driving. (even when my DRL is on when I am driving), is this normal? How can I make them turn on during daytime on AUTO mode when I am driving? Thanks!
Wire them to your front indicator lights like we show in the video.
what if you have the LED package will this work there no bulb to tap in
You are still tapping into the wires.
How difficult are these to install with a winch? I couldn't move my grill much on my JKU. Will it be the same issue with the Gladiator?
It was only slightly difficult. Definitely would have been easier if I had removed it.
Also, side note for others: if you have the LED package, it won’t have a parking light bulb. Just follow the wires to the set going into the front. Those are the ones you want to tap into. Just cut off some of the electrical tape so you can get to the black, white/brown wire.
Which wires would you use in a 2014 Jk? They are different.
There are different wires depending on the year.
Use a test light or multi-meter to see which wire has power when you turn the posers on and connect to that one.
Are the new style pre-runner lights just as bright as the old round style pre-runners from Oracle?
Yes
I have the LED lighting group on my 21 Gladiator and I taped into the wires shown into the video. The lights only come on when the headlights are actually set on. When they are in auto or basic DRL the lights do not light up. Any suggestions?
I was wondering the same thing
Will these lights work with just the parking lights on or do they only work with the headlights on? I'm not clear on this. Thanks
The DRLs will work with just the parking lights. It all depends on how you wire them.
I was going to wire them as in your vid. White wire with brown stripe. I want them to work when the parking lights as well as the headlights are on. Will that work with the way you wired them in the vid? Thank you for your help. Great video. @@northridgenation
I need help please my jeep jt I installed pre runner lights and now it won't start what should I do
Is your battery dead?
Has anyone had any problems with condensation yet?
Not so far, we've still got them on that JT and they've been flawless.
Is the wire between the lights have the length to mouth the lights wider apart?
The leads with the lights plugged in are 20", 32" & 38.5" in length.
@@northridgenation Thanks, was trying to see if they can be wider apart.
Not sure why all the tutorials for these go out of the way to get into the fender and tap into the park lights. Wouldn’t you want them running when the Jeep is on and driving? Especially if you have the aux switches… so much easier to go that route. Am I missing something?
You can wire them in anyway you want, going to the running lights just must easy, both for install and operation.
Why dont you guys just make them clip on? None of that zip tie stuff?
That's how we would make them, but we don't, Oracle does, so that's how we install them.
I assume these could be wired to an aux switch + ground if you didn't want to futz with the fender lights? Is there enough cable to reach the aux wires by the battery?
Yes, you could connect them than aux switch.
We didn't try that, but there looks to be enough wire to reach the aux wires.
I just ordered some. Are there instructions on connecting to one of the auxiliary switches or is it pretty self-explanatory? This’ll be my first wiring mod I’ve ever done.
American Adventure Labs makes a nice t-harness that can snap into the DRL plug behind the fender well.
Little function!
Yep... It is definitely a styling thing.
