I used to be so nice to ppl because I wanted to be friends with them. I was the type of person that would never say no to anyone. They used and abused me so badly especially in college. The truth is ppl don't want you to be too nice to them. They will look down on you, treat you like a doormat, laugh at you and leave you. I learned the hard way. I'm a really caring person and it's hard for me to say no but I've really learn that it's okay to say no.

I’m in such a weird spot. This girl I’ve known half my life turned out to be the most jealous toxic friend I’ve ever had. And now she’s trying to put the whole blame on me after I’ve cut her off and she’s telling people I abandoned her. There was nothing to abandon. We were never truly friends.

Ive just cut off a 8 year friendship with 4 girls since they’ve just been having secret group chats without me and for months talked shit about me, not seeing their wrongs if something hurt me and wouldn’t say sorry. I confronted them with how I felt but they still take me as a joke of the group and don’t respect me with how I feel even though I’ve helped them with anything possible.
It hurts knowing I’ve had to cut them off since I knew them for so long but I’m sure it’ll get better now their gone out of my life.

Don't overestimate your importance to other people. I've been so good to people who didn't deserve me, people who backstabbed and trampled over me in a split second. I no longer concern myself with such people... To get my love, time, attention, energy and loyalty, you will have to work for it, if you can't be bothered, I can't be bothered about you. Trust that I will use that love up on myself and relish every drop!

Had a "friend" for 13yrs she invited me to the full wedding but I must admit I thought she would ask me to be a bridesmaid ... she always called me one of her best friends... deep down I knew it wasn't true but the moment I started confiding in her as a best friend I realized it wasn't a true friendship. And yes, it hurt more than I could have imagined. I think I was more frustrated at the fact that I allowed her to define our friendship instead of sticking to my initial gut feeling... I drove 5hrs to her wedding, brought her a nice gift and honestly, I'm done... farewell...I wish her the best... we live and we learn.

This vid made me cry. I broke up with my "closest" friend 2 weeks ago. For me she was my "ride or die" friend. I was there for her every night and day...but slowly I realized that she was really using me as an emotianal trash can and took a lot of my energy and at the end she insulted me like hell...that was a hard lesson. A friend who was my son’s godmother, my maid of honor and her fiancé as the man of honor, wouldn’t even have me as a bridesmaid after I told her I wouldn’t have my husband sitting in the crowd while I walked with another guy as the man of honor. I said I would be a bridesmaid with my husband, and then she just cut me out of the whole wedding! After she replaced me as the maid of honor I was hoping she’d asked me to a be a bridesmaid at least, even when her new maid of honor turned her back on her, all she could say was that “it bit her in the ass” like the whole time I wasn’t her closest (or only) friend, and she didn’t dump all her life problems and wedding planning on me. I stopped talking to her.

I love this topic. I cut off a friend of 15years (it’s been a year) and I don’t regret it. Friendships need to be taken as serious as a relationship with a man/ women to be honest. If you take the person for granted don’t act surprise when the person finally decides that’s the end of the friendship.

It’s sad that I thought that my “friends” from elementary were type 3 friends but they definitely showed their true colors after I glowed up a bit and started to elevate I’m my education/career. They turned into type 1 friends then fizzled out into type 0 friends. They were very toxic and they mad me feel terrible hanging out with them and I just couldn’t do it anymore... taking advantage of my kindness, talking about me behind my back, and everything else you could think of. I’m glad I came across this video because I currently don’t have any friends anymore. It’s tough. Especially when you try to be a nice person. I am a woman who truly appreciate and value friendships. I had to step back and take the back seat to alot of stuff... The same women, I've lost jobs over, would do anything for, are the same women who wouldn't lift a finger for me. And I was so blind because I was so niieve and in love with them. When I hit rock bottom and went through something so deep ... Everyone disappeared. And it gave me enough time to reflect. I realized they kept me around for what I can do for them. I was so in love with my friends. But I've learned so much. I stop answering calls, text, and for a moment, actually started to feel bad for stepping back. Like I had to pray on it. I was so used to being so loyal so available. .I'm talking childhood friends. But I dont feel bad now.. If we cant add value to one another. I'm out! Also I was tired of drama and negativity. I want to grow and become better version of myself. I wasnt growing. Nothing. I was extending myself constantly. I was trying to keep up, be at evey invite, anything major happening, whether good or bad, i was right there, trying to prove I'm that ride or die friend..the energy was not returned ...now it's like. .Sorry not sorry. But No love lost. I felt used and not appreciated. Maybe it's just my season to truly focus on myself....
Good that you have realised how toxic these friendships were for you and have decided to take a step back. Carry on being the ride or die to the right people. In time you will notice exactly who those people are. Cutting the toxic people out gives room for the positive, ride or dies to come into your life. Hope this helped.
Focus on loving yourself and be selective about who you choose to give your time to. Time is valuable sometimes I feel like sending people invoices for wasting my time....think about it

Whenever I try to express my feelings my friends act like I’m dramatic and annoying and play the victim it hurts really bad and I don’t know how to fix it without denying my hurt feelings even though they’re not taking mine into consideration
I've been through that as well .. Friends can make you change your behaviour. It's even painful when they treat you differently in front of people. I personally never felt loved by my friends and that's just it. The pain built the "I don't care " mood in me. It made me learn how to enjoy my own company and mind my business.

Nothing can surprise me when it comes to people family included. I surround my self with people who I can learn from or who can help me move forward in my life and I also help them too in return im happy with that. I surround my self with people who can uplift me and encourage me. When u start to move with more positive people positive things also start happening.

Your videos are so helpful, she actually cried in the video HOW TO BE FEARLESS because her mum was such a strong woman. Watching some of your old videos and it's crazy how much the wedding story resonates with me and how often it happens these days as I've gotten older. I remember having a good friend/teammate from college, and when she got engaged I was one of the first she told. I couldn't wait for the wedding. A year later, I wake up on a Sunday morning to see on Facebook that she had her wedding that Saturday night beforehand and invited all our friends/teammates except me. And I had to find out on Facebook of all places. I learned that day where I stood in her mind and that apparently our friendship meant a lot more to me than it did to her. You really find out how someone feels about you when their wedding comes around😅

I find it so disappointing that I'm always willing to put my all in friendships even more in a relationship than a man because I feel that I can connect better with women but it's so disappointing how fraudulent women can be even when you show them loyalty

I get the whole 3 type of friends thing but we gotta think, if you feel your friend is not investing in your friendship or you can’t get something you want out of them, they maybe just feeling the same way your feeling and I feel like Categorising friends can kind of ease into a fakeness. I wouldn’t want a bunch of different type of friends for different things if you know what I mean. If I have Friends(which is a strong word) we are FRIENDS period. I just cut off a old friend, we've been friends since kids, because I really felt toxic to be around her and she wasn't growing me or encouraging me, its been hard to make that decision but I know it's better for me and my soul. I pray I did the right thing and it wasn't out of my own pride.
Noo you did .. I had to do the same thing to someone I was close since middle School. I told her to never contacted me ever again and also I block her . I told her how I felt front of her face , but you did a good thing you protecting yourself. my so called “friends” never care about how I feel when I talk about my feelings. i would tell them that I felt like I was going through rock bottom and that I felt like some of my other friends leave me out of things, or don’t even like me when I’m there. they would just listen and either talk about something else and slide my feelings away or talk shit about that person and later on be the best fucking friends with them. I would talk to my friend who’ve I’ve known the longest about this new person who comes into our group who seems to hate me and only wants to be friend with the “popular kids.” She’d agree with me in that time but in front she’s her best friend and the next thing is. THEY HANG OUT ALL THE TIME. the clout chasing friend, the old time friend, and the fake friend, all hang out together and it’s just like ?? didn’t y’all just BARELY talk shit about each other to ME and then act like nothing happened?? We have five people in our group but out of the five, those three people are all fake to each other and I don’t know how to deal with anything anymore. I can’t even talk to people comfortably anymore or make new friends bc I’m just not comfortable speaking to anyone since I’ve been around these three snakes. I know most people won’t care about this long ass comment lol but if you do help a girl out pls bc I need advice for my emotional mess that I’m growing through.

It’s really hard to cut people out of your life, especially when it’s a childhood friend or someone your really close to. But at a certain point you need to cut them off, you can’t let them around to keep abusing your trust. You need to respect yourself, and your mental health. there could be damage but we don’t realize until things get worse.

I have made that mistake many times, not defining what type of relationship it is and expecting more than the relationship is capable of.
I love to get deep so not being able to get deep with people I see all the time like co workers or family members has been a challenge for me to accept.
But what can I say, I am learning to do that now 🤷🏽♀️

Same here!! I want to get to know people beyond the surface, but not everyone is open like that which I totally get because I'm not expecting anyone to tell me their whole life story and their deepest stuff right off the bat, plus I myself am a pretty private person too. It's hard to find people who will genuinely reciprocate the time and investment in a friendship/relationship; we've all got our own lives going on, but I don't want to just be someone who is of convenience to you when you want to do something or you're bored!

Thank you Breeny💗 This is something I’ve learnt over the years and not everyone deserves your friendship. I’ve given some friends a second chance and once they did something unforgivable like stealing off me was the last straw. Nothing more hurtful than being betrayed by your friends. Hard to know who to trust sometimes.
