At this point, it's important to note that not only the $179 lowest priced version is only available in either black or white color but they're also non-RGB and not compatible with the LCD module.
So to conclude, the $199 version is the definite default one to buy and go off from there if you wanna add more weights/backplate/knob etc.
the sat75 was definitely one of the keyboards of all time

Definitely getting this keyboard, even though it arrives in July. You should make a video comparing the Zoom75 to other keyboards! I really like how your videos are paced and just the overall vibe your videos. Keep it up!
GB for a few months is really not that bad compared to other/past GBs! I've had to wait more than a year for some GBs.

Oh man I feel so validated, I hate the way the knob was implemented on this board too! I wish the knob modular hadn't been the default, I would've removed it immediately if I could've, just to save my money

oh man I'm the exact opposite, I joined this GB because I liked the overall design especially the knob. Everything just came together, non exploded 75% layout, the knob placement, color choice, non-flex cut pcb.
I was worried at some point that the knob would have to be an add-on. Glad that it is the default in the final default package.

thanks for the review Andy, definitely is refreshing to see a board with a no flex cut PCB! can’t say I’ve seen the shrink wrap mod for stabilizers, but that sounds so so much easier and durable than holee modding. Are you able to share the shrink wrap specs used?

I had to think long and hard before deciding not to do yellow lol
It’s 2023 and I still care about GB 6+ month boards ☹️. Not every board is worth the wait due to subjectivity of what’s high end. But I still love going thru GH and looking at really cool unique designs and layouts!
I've gotten into the habit of keeping an eye out for extras whenever they go on sale, and it has kept me more sane so far!

@@HubertTheMad I feel that. I have gone in on some extras myself for boards. But I like saving that money and still enjoying the investment later. It for some reason feels more custom for me when I have to wait. That sounds dumb I know but it’s true

I missed going on Geekhack but the velocity of new viable keyboards has slowed down immensely. Everyone still has ideas but the cracks are starting to show as to how many can actually fulfill properly
@@AndyVNguyen yeah the fulfillment part is terrifying. I have a couple GB’s that are on hold not for the parts having issues, but their vendors not having the time to fulfill in a reasonable time. It’s worrysome
As a newbie to custom keyboards...there's no way I'm passing on the Special Edition, the LCD screen, and the internal weight. I slide my keyboard all over the table so I also want the Carbon Fibre backplate to avoid scratching the glass or stainless steel plates. Just in case the screen dies or gets no support, I'd also get the two-key module, as well as the badge module, so I must add another badge to the build. Then because I've never had flex cut PCBs, I'd definitely want to try it, so add another PCB to the list. While I'm at it, why not get an extra knob of different color? Oh and I'd probably also want to try the FR4, Aluminium, POM and Carbon Fibre plates. Thankfully I buy it through our local vendor so I don't need to add shipping.

Hey, I know this is a long shot comment but I’m struggling between buying the zoom 75 and the mode envoy right now. Group buys are going on at the same time and I can’t afford both. I’m thinking I’ll get some NK creams and I found some matcha keycaps that would go nicely with the milky green zoom 75 and the green envoy. Any opinions? I’m in Canada if that changes anything
You haven’t told me anything about what your preferences or wants are so I don’t know how to help you.
@@AndyVNguyen That's okay, either way it will be my first custom mechanical keyboard so I haven't figured out all my preferences yet but I decided to go with the z75, some Durock POM switches and looking for a good set of keycaps similar to Epomaker's Matcha set. how long did yours take to arrive, I am new to the keyboard scene, and i never ordered a group buy or pre-order keyboard, I just bought the kbd 67 lite r4 and Bakeneko 65 when they were in stock. anyways good video.
I got a prototype because I'm a reviewer. Group buys vary from buy to buy. Some are 6-8 months and some get delayed longer. Thank you!
The prototypes always look solid. Its just the qc that worries me with the zoom series.

they're $200 budget boards, what do you expect. they are very good at CS and replacing faulty parts, so it balances out nicely.
@@foggytypes qk and jris didnt have such problem. Being “budget” just means you’re paying for a lighter/DB-less/less-intricately designed board. It shouldnt mean you’re risking faulty qc lol.
I hope their 98 or 109 (when that comes out) will have a screen option (with a knob)

What comparison would you make between this and the Odin75? What would make you more inclined between one over the other aside from a cost standpoint?
i don't want a flex cut pcb so if odin is stuck with that i'd pass
i personally went with the Odin myself because of aesthetics, I preferred the look of the layout, screen placement, and screen size more. Hope this helps

Hello there I’m pretty new to this, what would be the difference between the flex cut pcb and non flex cut pcb :’)
I describe it in the video - flex cut is quieter and bouncier
Do you think a 5 degree vs 6 degree makes a much of a difference?
I'd say so. 5 feels very flat. 6 is better, I typically like 7ish

This keyboard somehow came out of nowhere for me the last few days. And at this point I'm probably gonna get it lol. Don't have a 75% and I'm thinking that scarlet is gonna go well with IV kanketsu.

Why not the knob module? Seems like the most usable, whereas the screen is a useless gimmick
Because it has to be compatible, that square piece around the knob creates a very obvious seam that isn’t great. Knobs are most useful on the top left so that you can control it without taking your hand off of the mouse. So knobs themselves are also a gimmick.

I'd pick this up if I wasn't still in love with my QK75. I built mine with plate foam only and an aluminum plate, Gat Oil Kings and GMK Pulse Mitolet caps. It sounds really good to my ears, and does everything I want a keyboard to do. The screen on this to me is just a gimmick. It's neat, but I'd never use it as I don't look at my keyboard while typing or in general. I did recommend this board to a friend who is getting into the hobby. I gifted him a Zoom65, but he prefers the 75% layout.
At this point I need a good gimmick. Everything’s too similar. If you’re happy with your QK tho def don’t buy another keyboard

hi i'm new to the keyboard world and would like to buy the zoom75 with the lcd screen, do i just buy the wireless version essential kit + the add on 2U Colour LCD modular and that will do it? the website is abit confusing as they wrote "Note: Please remember to add the 2U Color LCD module to your shopping cart if you have purchased the 2U COLOR LCD as the kit comes with a knob module that does not support the installation of LCD". So does the 2U colour LCD modular add on includes the 2U colour LCD or do i have to buy it separately as i don't see it in the add on list.
I would email them. But they may be separating the screen and the little rubber piece for the screen

Does the internal weight effect the sound profile drastically?
Tested in a later stream. Not drastic but it’s there. It makes it feel way more hefty in hand though, which is worth it.
The tenet 70's oled screen has ruined most screens on keyboard for me. Even thought the tenet70's screen is grayscale, it is so clear and considering it is black and white so it has not borders that I can't enjoy screens on most other boards now.

hey andy, would you say that the zoom75’s casing feels and looks more premium compared to the zoomtkl? I had a bad experience with the TKL in terms of the case quality (scratches and blemishes) and I’m hoping the zoom75 would be an improvement in the feels department.
did they give you a partial refund or exchange your unit from the GB if it had scratches?

I don't think I'll be reviewing the Sonnet but I have the Tomo. I think the 7V R2 is the best value if you're willing to wait. Sonnet is the most accessible today. Tomo is a bit expensive but is a good top mount
Cast vs CNC is a dealbreaker for me.
They’re all doing it in some way to get to this price point for now
