Convinced me to try these on our mini-split after we install an additional indoor unit. Thanks for the video!

Awesome but I would like to see 600psi since some manufacturers require it.

Also available under the original “SB1” name nationwide @ United Refrigeration (UR) & Aireco locations. Make sure pipe ends are good & round (especially on soft copper) and I highly recommend sanding the outside w/ emery cloth or a scotch-brite pad.

I know this is not a sharkbite but they say do not use sand cloth. It leaves a rough surface and increases your chances of forming a leak.

@@Papasquatch73 You use emery cloth or scotchbrite pads before brazing (I hope). We (NRP) have sold 50K of these fittings and we recommend this as part of your prep to insure all burrs & nicks are removed. Burrs & nicks are more likely to damage the 4 o-rings. 870 PSI (60 bar) - couplers/elbows/flares/reducers
    670 PSI (45 bar) ‐ tees
    3. What is the vacuum capacity rating on the fittings?
    30 microns
    4. What are the SB1 temperature ratings?
    ‐40° F / 250° F
    5. What types of copper can be used with SB1s?

Cool but the an evap or condenser fitting is flared to receive 5/8 or 7/8 or 3/8 ect.. so you still have braze it in, would work well on splicing in a section I guess or for say a mini split as I like to braze rather than use flares. great video sir thank you for sharing....

They make these for flares and for every application. All i was doing was a pressure test after connections. Rectorseal has what you need.

What's the warranty and life expectancy on these? E.g. is it rated for 20 or 25 years? Or even 10 years before the o-rings will fail?

You can see it leaking at 4:30, it clearly is not holding at 420 psi

Hey man can you show us something higher than 450 psi. I saw a 1” pvc pipe burst at 1100 psi. I would like to see if fitting withstand short cycling, restriction pressures , high head pressure with vibration from compressor.
    Thanks I appreciate your vids!!!

Sadly, no. I would have to do the video in a controlled envioroment with different safety precautions other than a wooden stand in my garage.
