- This is the BMW 128Ti, it sits within the 1 Series line up bang in the middle of the core models such as the 118i & 120d and the top of the range M135i xDrive. The 128Ti aims to go after the VW Golf GTI, with an uncharacteristic front wheel drive set up it is different to most performance orientated BMW. It has been with us now for around 2 years however we think that it has very much been a little bit unappreciated and forgotten about. We do think though that it is a bit of a hidden gem in the line up.

Matt, Yes! The jewel in the 1 Series 'crown'. [Model line up] Better than the M135i? Could be! The driver's choice in the 1 Series line up. And, yes in the cross-hairs as far as the Golf GTi is concerned. Like you this is the perfect spec. Standard features too many 'red bits'. Tone it down for an ultimate Q car ...driving machine. Again cheers for bringing the 128ti to our attention. Great job! Cheers.
It’s a cracking car! I’ve had mine for 18 months and it’s a joy every time I get behind the wheel. Much more fun than the polite M135i, and also more exclusive. It’s a winner!
The revised m135i is not so polite anymore had mine a while now 😂
How's the fuel consumption
@@mab0738 My overall average since owning the car is about 34mpg. On a run I've managed 52mpg!
A great car, I love my 72plate Skyscraper grey with the red accents. The full m sport kit doesn’t do it any favours as it’s not a true m car. Mine flies under the radar without being too shouty, and is all the better for it.

Just collected mine 1st March on 24 plate in skyscraper with pro pack, 19 inch wheels and sunroof. I cant believe how premium it feels and its quick !!! And definitely no red bits 😅

Had mine nearly a year, fantastic car all round, Skyscaper grey with pro pack. Easy to live with day in day out, happy on the M6 and even happier on the Tebay to Brough road 😉
I’d also like to add, I really love the interior and std seats, infotainment system is easy to use and still has manual systems which I think is the way to go. Bit stiff on the 19,s but it’s a hot hatch so that’s part of the experience.
I personally like this look of the Ti not down with the red accents on it.
Had a early 22 build m135i which had a number of the Ti updates that im told made the m135i that bit sharper.

I get 40 mpg in eco mode consistently ..Even if I use sport mode its pretty good.
Do they not include the red accents anymore? If so happy days
You can option them to not be on there.
looks better with the red bits, take that kit off it and it could just be a 118d and it does have lots of torque steer so he obviously didnt drive it hard enough, how do i know all this??? ive had one for 3 years and counting, it is a GREAT car though and even standard spec is decent never mind when you add on any of the packs
I tested this car with Matt a few years back with the old Rybrook Group. We put it against the same age M135i. I can confirm that there is a lot of torque steer on these compared to the M135i. I actually rate the 128ti more so than the new M135i. The front wheel drive charicter gave me Megan RS and Clio RS vibes, touch of understeer and scrambling at the front end to dig in and doing a great job at it. You have to drive it to understand. Would it benefit from a manual box ... probably. Does the auto box ruin it? Not at all. There is bags of charisma in this car. And I agree, it needs the red details.
Yes but you haven't driven the updated M135i, takes a lot of inspiration from the 128Ti, video on that car is coming very soon...

Looks so much better without the red accents. Those red accents cheapen the look dramatically.
Totally agree on the go faster red vinyl. Makes the car look slightly ridiculous.

Tryed it thought it was nothing special ..thought golf gti better car apart from golf shit quality inside cabin.
Crazy how turning the engine 90deg makes me loose all interest in a car.
