I find it suspiciously unbelievable that you did not know Macau was ruled by Portugal. You were studying in China for a few years, so I assume you are interested in Chinese culture and history, surely you would have read something about this. Second, you have traveled to many parts of the world, and you should be more interested in history , and should have came across this fact. Third, in the age of the Internet, who would go visit a place without checking for information on the internet? If you were to look up Macau on the internet, every article would have mentioned Portugal. And lastly, when you got off the boat in Macau, you surely had to go pass the immigration/custom checkpoint. That should have ring a bell. So I find it hard to believe you did not know this. You were either a very careless traveler, or you were lying. Just because you have blonde hair, it does not mean you have to act dumb.
Perhaps she was really trying to act dumb so that she can get the locals involved with the video. Like interviewing the hotel front desk clerk. Nice try, but it made her look stupid. I bet the clerk was thinking....damn no wonder they call them dumb blondes.

Thank you, and welcome to Macau, excellent video!
Fun fact: Macau's Portuguese egg tarts are not the traditional pasteis de nata from Portugal but invented by a British pharmacist, Andrew Stow. That is why to try the best egg tarts in down you have to go to Lord Stow's Bakery!!!
Cedric Chan cool!! Never knew that! Thanks for sharing
Somewhat true. I would use the term "reinvented" tho. Because they still called it pastel de nata. Is just that the Portuguese original one keep their custard recipe a secret so he came up with his version of the custard.
Everyone in world reinvents the Pastel de Nata, it’s like pizza. But obviously they are still a version of Pastel de Nata, even in Portugal there’re many different recipes of Pastel de Nata. And the best Pastel de Nata in Macau is in Café de Nata
@@LHollan Exactly, even in Portugal, different regions have a different recipe for the egg custard filling, and they claim Belém's pastel to be one that stands out, so much that in Belém, a region of Portugal, they especially named it "pastel de Belém".
Such a great video! So energetic and professional!
Not to be an ass, but did you really not know that Macau was a Portuguese colony? Or was that just a bit for the video?

just hope people of macao didnt caught zombie fever from hongkong....
Be honest, Macanese don't really wanna give a damn about what is happening in HK
The beauty about Macau is that they have worked hard to preserve their Portuguese ancestry and architecture. It's simply unique.
I doubt there is much Portuguese ancestry in Macau. I also don't think Potugese cutlure is practiced in Macau anymore. I think the only remaining relic of Portugal in Macau is the architecture and the language perhaps.
It’s fun in Macau but the cost to stay in good hotel is really expensive. 😑😑😑
Paddy Man yeah it’s an expensive city to stay in!! There are some inexpensive ones though!!

Macau's GDP per capita ranks No.2 in the whole world
With a huge amount of inequality and lower average income than hong kong.
David Johnson that is what people need to be know. I don't like people spread the GDP ranking around. It's meaningless.
Macau has such small population and a huge gap between the wealth and the poor. And not to mention the inflation. There are so many facilities and policy need to be changed, improved in the society. Otherwise, all in all are just sugar coating.
@@h2x261 When 10% people make 1 million a year, and the rest make almost nothing. The GDP per capita becomes 100K+. That's Macao.
@@DavidJohnson-dp4vv I am sure those who are poor are not actually citizens of Macau. With such wealth, the government benefit should be very good, I suppose.
@@DavidJohnson-dp4vv as to income inequality, nowhere in the rest of the world is worse than Hong Kong, while Macau has great welfare policies for its citizens. As a result, Macau's Gini coefficient(0.36) is much less than Hong Kong's(0.53).

Oh, we travelled there 2 weeks ago and the weather is so hot esp in the afternoon. Haha Thats why we decided to walk around in the night and it was so SAFE. All places you visited,we visit it also. It's so nice to see them again thru your vlog. 🥰🥰🥰
Wow, this vlog really provokes my nostalgia and I was working in the Grand Emperor Casino Hotel back many years ago. Thank you so much!
