Really! You da man! The video does answer a lot of questions and makes it easy. Thank you for taking the time to make this video- greatly appreciated! It appears you have more than one boat. Wishing you good health and fishing. The fishing community needs more guys like you- great stuff... I tell all my fishing buddies to watch RedfishRoss!
First i don't use a snap ring on the nose i use a snap as it's easy to change out lures and work's perfect, next i don't put a screw in the end i just use the existing wire that is there and works perfect..... also i use #3 split ring for the hooks and use #5 hooks... works great............
Thanks Ross. Believe it or not, I've been working one Redfin the same way, except the rear screw-on eye I didn't have and used the existing wire, the treble size (I used #2 Gamas') and the Redfin has the black back. I haven't cast it yet but it looks good. LOL! Thanks. BTW, I bought 5 on ebay, three black backs and two blue. Film at eleven.
Great video Ross. I modified my Redfins but used the factory hooks & split rings. Haven't had a chance to use them yet. Are the hooks and split rings you use stainless steel.
Hey Ross. I haven't been able to find screw eyes that I think are small enough to use modifying the Redfin. What size do you use and where do you get them? Thanks for all the good info.
Martha Herff Yes you need the # 3 for it to run right. Tackle Warehouse has them. www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Short_Shank_Round_Bend_1X_Treble_Hooks_7pk/descpage-VMCSSRB.html

That was great Ross. Thanks. Explains why mine isn't working properly.
Mike Blanco Really Good Stuff! Appreciate your attention to detail to your modification of lure. Thanks
Captain Mike Blanco Thank you.
just what I was waiting for. Thanks Ross
Another great video! Thanks for taking the time to share one of your fishing secrets.

Awesome job sir! Thanks
Will have to try it. Thanks
Yes!! Thank you so much.
Ross awesome video good idea cool man

Thanks Ross. When throwing the Redfin do you tie your line directly to the ring on front or use a snap?
nice video ross!
Why don’t you load one with mineral oil or water? Instead of cutting off the back end. Your getting rid half of the action of the plug
Brendan Woerner Interesting idea , you should do a video showing how that works.
Ross could list the name and size of the snap rings and the hooks thanks for the videos and help
It's all been said but thanks Ross.

I AIN'T TELLING YOU IT ONLY BEEN 6 YEARS I'LL ANSWER YOU IN THE 10TH YEAR DON'T RUSH ME!!
Ross do you know the size of the eye screw on the back
Cool😎
Is there some reason you don't like the broken back redfin?
I'm having trouble getting #3 hooks I've got 2 and 4 should I use one of those are hold out for the 3 ?
Martha Herff Yes you need the # 3 for it to run right. Tackle Warehouse has them. www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Short_Shank_Round_Bend_1X_Treble_Hooks_7pk/descpage-VMCSSRB.html
Thank you so much for you're help, I really appreciate the quick reply.
I clip all my front snap rings
Snap ring on nose is no good that's just extra weight you don't need! All you need is a loop not to nose of lure
Why don't you just buy the Redfin without the broken back instead of modifying it
RedfishRoss ok thank you
Do you prefer the blue back or black? Or does it really even matter? Where can you buy those VMC products around Rockport? Tackle Town?
Thanks Redfish Ross I will take a look and see what tackle town has today! Fish on!
