I really hope y'all enjoyed this! Even though it took a long time, I loved putting this video together ^^ Here is the fanwork I mentioned at 12:33, by satindolphin052! It's an emotional take on the "what-if" of telling the Prisoner more, and it's incredible, bittersweet, and made me cry for several reasons. Please give it a read, but also be sure to heed the tagged warnings! archiveofourown.org/works/34806577 For freeing the Prisoner without dying: there's the route of literally going through every combination, or the codes for each lock can be found in the game's code. They can be found with a simple Internet search. =]
What happens if you try to visit the Prisoner (edit: after disabling the ATP) through a different fire? (I usually use the one in the hidden gorge - easy to get to from outside the ship!)
@@OneVioletRose i've tried this before! You can find the subterranean lake through other means, but nothing special happens when you visit from a different place.
It's as simple as do the two locks, and for the alarm bridge, just jump off your raft in a tunnel and parkour up the back of the rock formation. Might take a few tries at first but I have it nailed to a tee now. (I didn't realise the actual solution so I improvised)
Something interesting about the prisoner’s corpse is that they seem to be trying to cover the lantern with their hand. It’s almost like they tried to prevent themself from re-entering the simulation.
This sounds right on paper, but, as soon as you check the other fire rooms, you'll notice that many Owlks are holding their lanterns the same way. It's a normal pose.
there is one thing I see that no1 has ever mentioned or even experienced. But blowing out the lights of the house with the long bridge, if one of the owls is right over ur head on the balcony, they will do a very creepy animation where they start to lean over to look at you and then hide themself so u cant see them. It was the first thing happend to me when i first encountered them for the first time and I freaked out

@@riverpengelly what really? lmao that's amazing But yeah them killing you isn't a big concern, but if you could defeat them it'd change the vibe a lot
The owlfolk aren’t interested in the lantern because it can be one of theirs so to avoid to accidentally kill someone they know, they try to find their owner first
Oh wow. That message when you try to encounter the Prisoner after disabling the ATP is amazing (I don't get why you shouldn't be able to do it though). That "they don't even bother to hunt you anymore" thing gave me shivers. Also the Prisoner corpse is such a heartbreaking thing to see, bro was trying to cover his artifact 🥺 The Owlks' death too is so sad, although it was not that great of an idea to put the green fire in a place this close to water. This was a great video, thank you for making it. You earned a new sub
The message is triggered from entering the dream world in general after disabling the ATP, also there is another ending for if you stay on the Stranger after disabling the ATP.
1:46 Wow! That is interesting how the owlks' react after only finding the lantern! 3:25 I didn't know they _could_ die! 😮 And 8:27 was a jump scare! I really loved this. Thank you for your hard work and I hope you'll have a great day and weekend! 😊
@@Kyzekrem Spoiler alert for anybody stumbling across this conversation Well, if you remember back, the way to get through that segment is to enter the simulation through a different fire and getting back there by raft while waiting for the dam to break. Oh gosh, the owlk death made me cry ;w; By the way, the message you got after disabling the ATP isn't exclusive to freeing the prisoner, you get that because you enter the dreamworld by dying with disabled ATP, not because you freed them. Anyway, I know I'm almost two years late but this was an amazing video :3

I bet if you turned off reduced frights and kicked them out of their dash then you coukd bring them further out of their patrol areas.
One locked me out of exploring the cove area ( the one with the big pit in the middle ) because it chased me over to the hidden area behind the painting, lunged at me over the little step you have to jump over, and got stuck on the stairs behind it, so whenever I went back into the dream, I couldn't get up the stairs because it just sat there and there was no way around.
I know im late but in 8:48 I'm pretty sure the reason they open their mouth is because they intended on putting out your lantern. But seeing as you don't have one, they quickly opt to break your neck.
I just beat the DLC the other day. I was "lucky" enough to watch one of them die, which was how I figured out how to get past them. Seeing it up close like that, and without it also being a eureka moment, is... difficult.
For the first one, Was funny. thought I was playing on reduced frights until I went to make a point to someone. I went into my settings only to realize I didn't have it marked. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

It arguably even makes sense in-fiction that the owlk knows that the bridge being extinguished is a possibility and is just being careful not to put themselves in a situation where you could kill them
The only ones who die right after the dam breaks are the ones from the first "village", which gets flooded.
