    I had a great looking 1980 Bird/Erving/Magic RC. Nicely centered, sharp corners....and had it in a screw down since 91. Came back altered. Going to try your method and let you know how it goes.

      I’ve had the same thing happen before. You can also put the card in humidity. If you own a humidor put it in there for a half hour at a time it will help out too

    Are the two disc's flat or slightly concave? You do amazing work on these cards. I kept reading the comments and you posted the Amazon link. Thank you. Keep up the great work.

    Hey Kurt 💙 just bought one of your kits from your UK ambassador 3rd down displays. Super excited for it to arrive, and already have a card in mind that i wanna work on. It’s a pokemon card, with a tiny little kink on the top edge (i think from pinching putting into a sleeve or something). I think this kind of technique could work well! Do you have any pointers? Or videos that you could guide me to? I know you’ve said in the past that pokemon cards can be tricky, but i want to give it a shot.
    I’ve watched your content and commented in the past, you’re a legend, thank you for what you do 🙏

    Thanks for the great video. How long would you suggest to let it sit in the plates?

    Kurt! I have a Marino rookie from my childhood that I kept in a screw down for 30 years. It’s similar to this Montana, except the “flattening” is much worse. What would you recommend for a card that has more than just corner flattening? Thanks Kurt!

      Great question, you can try this first and if it’s just not doing it for you, you’re gonna have to soak the whole card in card spray and let the card dry and it will come back to life. This takes practice so I want you to test on a base card first. I have a full soaking demonstrations on my vintage playlist. Hit me with questions anytime

    When you say screw down, do you mean the ones that don't have the center Grove that the card sits in? I remember those thick screw downs where the card was literally squished between the 2 sides. I always used the smaller ones that had the spot that a card would sit in.

    what solution do you use? how can you eliminate staining?

      Some stains can be removed. I typically use my card spray. If you’re on Instagram, you can send me a picture.

      I actually just got it back this week. It went from altered to a PSA 7

      @@kurtscardcarenever understand why screw down case corners come back altered, instead of them just assigning a numerical grade for smashed corners and apply that to the overall grade with their calculation

      Can you do this on 86 Fleer Bball. I have a smashed Ewing.

      @@aahansen78 Yes, just practice so you have the right amount of moisture, you only need a touch. You might be able just to do the back.

    If you do something like this to a card and then send it for grading, will it comeback as altered?

    • @kurtscardcare
      @kurtscardcare  Рік тому +2

      If I didn’t do this, it would for sure. It was smashed in a case for years.
