- A dawn soft bait mission to the shallow reefs. Finding Snapper holding in the wash and targeting them on light soft baits on snag proof jig heads. Im surprised to see how many snapper are still in the shallow 1.5-2m waters at this time of year.
Fishing with ultra light fishing rods for snapper in the shallows makes it so much more exciting and sporting, even if the fish are small. I was throwing the soft plastic lures hard onto the rocks and bouncing it through the wash and it was so exciting. there was a small bite window this day, from dawn till an hour after sunrise. awesome video dude. weedless worm hooks i personally think r the best. after using them my catch rate really improved especially at lake pupuke cause its so weedy as its impossible to fish it with spinners or rapalas unless u r in a barren spot with no snags
Yeah they work a treat aye, if it’s too weedy I’ll fly fish.. less hooks and tend not to get caught as much

Looked like a nice morning out mate. Nice getting some snaps out that shallow too. Will have to go give it a go with the fly rod.
Yeah man, should be loaded a bit later in the year. Moon was still up while I was fishing so could have slowed it a bit
quality vid mate i like how ya film the casting/retrieve and dont just bang the gopro on when ya get hooked up

I had two sets on onbard but the main one was an ocean angler microwave v2, and a sustain 2500 reel 15lb line. perfect outfit for soft bating. Cheers for the watch and comment man. glad you enjoyed.

I couldn't quite see if that was a TT Lures weedless, but if not, grab some from your Aussie mates. They are specifically designed for Z Man, so have a better ridge for trapping the Elaztech body - stopping them slipping. No need for glue. When are you back out in Joker - or have you been banned? :)
