Very wonderful and really wonderful nature I wish to live there and enjoy working with honey and bees and production I am very passionate about this kind of work ❤🐝🍯
The comb guide should be coated with bees wax. It works better like coating plastic frames to start pulling out comb. Uncoated plastic frames are patchy at best.

I have a Flow Hive 2+ with room for seven frames in the brood box. The nuc that I will be transferring to the brood box has five frames of bees. I infer that I will only ever need two of the frames that are included with the 2+ full complement of components. In fact, my beekeeper did confirm that I will be transferring the five frames and putting two Flow frames outermost, one one either side. If all the foregoing is correct, I guess I should still assemble, glue, and nail up all the included frames and put them in a safe place in case of need at a later date. Comment?
Actually, there are TEN frames, not seven as I wrote above. All ten of them fit into the brood box. So I guess I should place three empty frames on one end, two on the other, and the five from the nuc in the middle. Does that sound right?
If we are transferring from non flow frames, how do we eventually move them to all flow frames? Will the system work with the frames we get when we purchase our nuc?
That was a fascinating video. I learned several things, such as that both outside and inside surfaces of the roof should be sealed with a good paint. I wasn't sure about that after hearing that only the outsides of the major hive components should have a coating applied. Having written that, I intend to coat the outsides of the brood box and super with Thompson Water Seal. It's popular in the States for use on equipment exposed to moisture. Do you approve, Flow crew? EDIT: I searched beekeeping forums and found mixed reviews on TWS. Apparently, many beekeepers do use it. However, several commented that it doesn't last more than two years, then the outsides of the hive require re-coating. The reviews are from 2011. I think they now have several formulae. The one I have is TWS "Barely Tinted" - "Natural Cedar".
Perhaps next time you doing a hive inspection and find queen cells it may be an idea to explain the difference between swarm and supercedure cells. Just a thought.
Bees rarely find their way into empty beehive boxes, even though they are designed to be a perfect home for them. You can check out a great article here on how to get a colony to call your own. support.honeyflow.com/how-do-i-get-bees/ Important terminology to know when speaking with a beekeeper, or searching bee package or bee nuc, as well as swarms and hive splits.
Hi there I live in Limpopo South Africa which is mostly wild African bush veld. Nowhere to get bees. I need to know if I purchase the complete kit that is primed will this be acceptable for our bush veld bees to move in
So when you put the swarm in the brood box that you're taking them out of now , the frame had nothing but the surrounding frame, no comb and they have since made all the comb that's in there , and how long did that take for them to make that??
Hi There, Are you introducing a new queen into your hive? The cage may be placed between combs in the brood nest, or on top of the frames over the brood nest, screen downwards. Please feel free to email our support team at info@honeyflow.com
Organic honey can be fairly hard to find, as can forage for up to 7km radius of their hive. Sometimes more. Many honey producers can find it hard to ensure no plants have sprayed and with varroa miticides are now commonly used in beekeeping. You would need to test your honey to determine its levels or presence of these chemicals.

Youre bees are so much calmer than mine. I would never dream of opening the hive without having a suit on.
This was great, but the sound problems were often when you were saying something interesting :)

I was told queen bees are light sensitive and as u take the racks out the queen will move away from the light is this true?
How long since you caught the swarm and have had it in that brooder box?

Why did you have to transfer the frames..? Why didn’t you just put that box onto the stand?
He said you can but this video is to show us how.

Do you paint the interior of the box?
do white ants affect the flowhive timber
I have new flow hive and after lots of ready and watching but still not sure where to put the queen cage??
