Well Hello Down There! It's fun to see you having to set up a Flow-Hive 2 for your wife :) She's one sharp cookie in my opinion! Wait, there's a "Flow-Club"? (';')( ';')... where's that? I wish you all the best and hope your wife enjoys tending her hive and watching the honey flow out into her jars someday in the not too distant future. Good of you to take time out of your commercial beekeeping day to set her up.
Well that is the most informative and entertaining 17 minutes I have ever experienced!!! Love it!!! Inspired to get a flow hive now and see more of this legends videos!!! Thank you 🙂
Yes, the Flow Hive is not for most commercial beekeepers, and yes, it is expensive. But I can say this because I own two Flow Hives, they are they most well made hive I have ever seen. And they make these with Cedar, which is a superior wood with a triple R-Value than pine. Yet with the Backyard beekeeper, they are the answer. Just saw two videos where two small commercial beekeepers invested in over 60 Flow Hives and sold all their extractors and extra equipment.
I don’t have a flow hive or keep bees yet somehow found myself here watching this entire video as this bloke is as mad as a bag of wasps (or bees!) 😂 You, sir, have just gained a new subscriber
One thing that the flow hive people recommend is to open and close the cells when installing the flow super as they may become misaligned during transport
Hi Bee Bush man. Is this your second flow hive. Didn’t you put one in your wife’s garden some time back? What happened to the first flow hive? Have you still got the first one? David. KD Kurabees Brisbane.
I'm curious what's the max number of hives you'd be able to do, risk in a city backyard? If you had good control and watchful, is it possible to have large numbers of hives?
This progect should be heaps of fun, I was just taken aback how much my back yard was looking like your back yard with hives everywhere! I just had an Oh No! Moment. I just realized my wife is a lot more patient than I give her credit for. 10:41 hope no one important was there have a sky diving party LOL! They are very understanding bees, not a single roar! Isn't interesting about the angry bees vs the chilled bees and productivity. I must admit to owning 1 hive who are a little more ready to go to war, they really do load up with honey compared to the other hives, it is an interesting conundrum you can be faced with. I have kept them, as they go good, and only get up set when I rip the brood nest apart generally. ( And the guard bees do carry a grudge! I have learnt!)Bit like a wife referred to as " Pretty Special that Woman" Crikey, Duck and cover BBM! Thanks for a great laugh! Stay safe!
Why didn’t you turn the concrete blocks over 😂 ,so they are flat ,you don’t want this going tits up at some point when a leg slips in the hole 🕳 , or you can get the legs to screw on , great video though , 🇬🇧
Has any 1 researched if squashing bees inside the comb when u release the honey cold have a lasting effect on bees could they get scared of the comb collapsing again and not use it over time
Mark thank you for NOT bagging out Flow Hive for the cost of their hive. Yes they are expensive but so is extracting equipment. I now have 3 flows, one not painted yet( this was a gift ) 2 going well plus 4 Langstroth love have both types of hives. Great video as usual gentlemen. Highlight of my week
It is a great thing for the backyard beekeeper. Not for the commercial beekeeper. If you have a small number of hives (10 or less) it is allot cheaper to go this route than to have to buy the centrifugal extractor, strainer and cleanup. the flowhive does the honey extracting, there is no strainer and the bees do the cleanup. Plus the time to acquire the same amount of honey is half if not less than the traditional method.
Nice job Mark, highly recommend rolling melted wax onto the Flow frames before you put them to work to encourage the girls along. The windows are only an indication of what is really happening, you need to do a frame inspection to ensure that enough cells are capped before a harvest. I think The Flowhive system is great.
I found the africanized bees handle the desert heat better then those from north. Therefore they make more honey because they live longer and don't die in heat of day.
Gday BBM your first comment about someone getting a queen but no bees worries me a bit as i think a some people see the flow hive and how easy it is to use and decide to be a bee keeper without doing any research at all on what is required by law and in general , now dont get your nickers in a twist everyone this would only be a small amount of people , it doesnt just occure with flow hives .I was at my local shop last week and a customer came in and started to ask the owner a lot of questions just one example was he picked up an emlock and asked whats this ? now i dont know about others but i did a lot of research into bees before i even ordered mine and i am no expert by any means but that was not the only basic question he asked which made me go away thinking hmmm and this guys going to keep bees .
You sir are So delightful. 🥰 Your Joy and Happy demeanor is so Fun. 🤣 I Love how you talk to your Girls. 🥰🐝🎶 I hope your Wife enJoys her Flow Hive and Bees. 🥰🐝✌
Good idea but. Smart marketing at selling a magic hive no work turn a tap and honey... Lost over 25k to afb hives to backyard beekeepers wanting magic hives then neglect and leave 😡
Watching the guy walk through his yard slapping his sides made me smile. What a lovable goof. Found a new channel to watch.
First 45 seconds and I'm saying to myself I wish I could have a beer with you

I laughed so hard watching this ! Just found my new favorite channel to follow 😄😄
I have two of them and LOVE, LOVE them.
Subscribed after hearing both "wonky donk" and "ruffian" used appropriately in the same sentence. Nice work!
I was waiting for him to just turn over the cinder blocks

"Thank you darling. What the hell have you done?" 🤣
Why on earth didn’t you turn the blocks so you could use the flat side? Lol. Awesome video
I understood several words. Thumbs up.
I'm curious what's the max number of hives you'd be able to do, risk in a city backyard?
If you had good control and watchful, is it possible to have large numbers of hives?
Go for it bro

You rock !
I heard that if your frames are not completely full when you harvest, you can kill numerous bees that have their heads in the combs putting nectar in.
i want some your your batch of honey , i want the giggles hahah ,
Flip over the cinder blocks.
As always, I love your videos. What a gem of a wife you have! That's a most adorable patch!
Why not place the blocks on it’s side instead ( no holes) ?
I swear that was what I was thinking the moment I saw him digging..... >~
Totally my thoughts also
Blame Mrs Bushbeeman, she left him and John to their own devices.....
@@won2winit Me thinks that perhaps it may well be a case of him trying to persuade her into bees, and less of him being the helpful hubby.
I wonder what I would sound like to an Aussie
🤣🤣🤣Great channel .
The Rodney Rude of beekeepers, or so he wishes!
Did you get honey yet from the other flow hive you set up?
this guy is hilarious. an absolute nut
Isn't fermented honey Mead?
Sir, I want to buy a hive for my own purposes and please write to me how much the hives cost and how to order in Europe Serbia, thank you in advance

Why don’t you put the bessa block the other way so your hive bottom board don’t fall through the holes lol
Funny af
Im interested with his accent. Is this brit accent or ausie? ahaha could also be new zealand..
Australian
Is he from gold coast?

I absolutely LOVE the red roof!
Deja vu! What about the flow hive you got last year? Any news on that?
Y didnt u just lay the bricks on the flat sides 🤣🤣🤣
Gee thanks it’s f’n winter here in Canada that sunshine is making me cranky.
Hos about just turning the stone on the side ffs
Great video Mark thanks for sharing. Love the patch work 👍👍👍🐝🐝🐝🐝
😂😂😂😂
Always entertaining but the Verroa mite comment didnt age well!!
I found the africanized bees handle the desert heat better then those from north. Therefore they make more honey because they live longer and don't die in heat of day.
Save your extra wax comb so you can spread it on the flow frames to start them to put honey up there.
turn the blocks on their side! gaaaaahH!
Thinking about getting a flow hive but i think I will wait until I see how they work out for you. 💕🐝
Bush Bee Man, approximately how many individual working hives to you have all together in your apiaries? Thank you from SW Florida, USA.
My Flow roof is red too. 😎
I digress ... Love it! Don't stop digressing Mark.
That ending was so sweet! :)
I'm surprised you didn't get the leg kit. Adjusting the level is super easy.
Place your blocks on their side so you have a flat surface.
Your Laugh makes me Happy. 🥰
Awesome upload! This is super helpful for prospective urban beekeepers!
Mate do you make me laugh :-)

Do the bees still swarm in a flow hive.
Yes! I'm here early. Hope your summer is mild, at least! It's coooold here! Good luck!
Do you by chance have a flow hive 2, 7 frame base you would like to sell?
Do I see some sort of new bee loader back there?
The magenta wedge explicitly beg because edward behaviorally increase anenst a ragged heat. alert, hurried armadillo
You sir are So delightful. 🥰 Your Joy and Happy demeanor is so Fun. 🤣 I Love how you talk to your Girls. 🥰🐝🎶 I hope your Wife enJoys her Flow Hive and Bees. 🥰🐝✌
you make my day, snow here tomorrow.
My bees only fly at you when you inspect them, other than that they’re pretty chill
Good idea but. Smart marketing at selling a magic hive no work turn a tap and honey...
Lost over 25k to afb hives to backyard beekeepers wanting magic hives then neglect and leave 😡
get a solid block under that or pick it up off it's side later
Needs to turn the Besser blocks onto there sides so to give a flat surface to stand the Flow Hive feet onto.
Thats an over priced afb incubator 😆😆 cant believe you brought one 🙃 dont blame ya mrs for wanting one you couldnt help yourself 🤥 lol
Flow hive hardly for beginners . need min of 5 years experience before trying the flow hive
