@telecasterguy please do. Or ig you can make a video on how to sound a bit outside ang grab your attention so musically and sweet sounding... i would love it. Thank yoy so much.
This is a real late comment, but man, I'm of the same fancy towards a Les Paul R8. All those dynamics, regardless of how overdriven and that lug of a neck IS a real Les Paul!
Now for tuning stability Gibson has left the building 😂 ba dum tsst joke aside I've heard good things about string butler, but in all seriousness if tuning is an issue Fender is the way to go. I can see you love telecasters too 😁 if you have the Jimmy page telecaster would love to hear riff comparisons with whichever Lester you chose to keep!! Cheers and happy tone hunting 😁
Your performance is wonderful. I recently purchased the R8. Since the neck is thick, it is a sound that the middle range comes out in front. I like it very much.
Both sound great, so I'd go based on feel and looks. Probably R9, it's got a slimmer neck and more flame! I'm not big on plain tops unless it's a LP custom
58 is generally same guitar thicker neck, 59 with prettier top. 57s have the gold top which I think is gorgeous. Personally I love the green lemon or gold. Subtle figure playing peekaboo in the lighting. So it becomes a question of aesthetics vs feel. I love a chunky neck some say more real estate means more tone. Close your eyes and let the guitar speak to you. Whichever inspires you more, if you're torn have someone blindfold you and let the wand choose the wizard.
Hey man that was some really cool groovy playing. Im trying to decide between these 2 guitars but would like to ask: Is the neck very much thicker on the R8 compared to the R9? I have a Gibson Les paul Standard 50s and tge playability and feel and tone are amazing Do yoy know if the R8 is much thicker than the 50s standard also? Thanks man.love that little amp. Sounds awesome 🙏🎸😎
The r8 neck is thicker than the r9. Both guitars play very well. I really do like both guitars very well. Thank you for your nice words and watching the videos.
@@telecasterguy I am shopping for a Les paul now. I did not realize how much there is to buying one. You have to play a lot of them until you find "The one"
This is a easy one for me! BOTH! I want to own a 58 and 59! The R8 is fatter sounding here and has a plain top. IF i had to pick just one the R9 gets my vote. The R9 got closer to the tele on roids tone i want.
The R9 has a very distinguished treble-y "chirp" sound that just can't be reproduced without an R9. Every note delivers.. The R8 is much more mid, a little deeper and chunky and it's gorgeous in its own way. I'd love an R9 but I think my wallet will settle with R8
1:19 OMG love that lick! whats happening there?
I don't remember what I played there but I will find out. Thank you for watching the videos.

Great guitar for sure

They both sound awesome at that point i would choose best feel and tuning stability

I have seen many 58's with tops to die for! but yes generally they are known for their plain tops and fatter necks.
Thanks bro
What amp is that??? It does sound killer with the R9 but the player makes it really great
The amp is a handwired Little Dude Amp. They are made in Monett MO by James Meeks. Awesome Amps!

Go with R9 I got one and there so nice
Very nice guitars - R9
Wish i was in a "which one" situation and the two choices were a R8 and a R9!
We were looking at trading the r8 for the r9..
I sold the r8 and passed on the r9.
