really nice. That halation effect from dehencer is not as good as the one RAKK production uses. That guy has a powergrade for free. The quality is amazing.
hi, this is probably one of the best emulation results I have seen on UA-cam, some shots colourwise, are so close to celluloid! did you use any softening filters while shooting or was everything done in post ? all the best
Tbh I struggle with it too on all my music video’s that end up on youtube I shot and graded. It helps uploading in at least 2K so you get that better youtube vp9 codec. 1080p? no way you see the grain. Also the bigger the grain the less youtube will compress or denoise. Same for the amount of grain you add, in this video there is a lot of it and it seems youtube handles that very well. If it’s a more refined grain, you won’t see much of it on youtube. Funny how youtube is actually a great denoiser, it’s hard to get a great image with grain on youtube. I tend not to care anymore and just grade it the way I like, if it’s looks good in high res on vimeo, I’ll rest my case on how youtube will handle my video.
@@Lukascope_film Thanks for the quick and concise response! I'll definitely take these strategies into consideration, including accepting UA-cam's inevitable compression lol
Hi, for this video I tried out different settings for each shot. I was just trying out the Dehancer plugin so I don't really remember that well. What I do remember was that on most of the shots the Film Resolution was set very low, something between 0 - 20; Amount was around 20 and Size: between 1.00-3.00 Recently I shot and graded this video with dehancer: vimeo.com/594134417 Grain settings in that video were Size: between 1.00 - 2.35 - Amount: 2.0 - Film resolution: between: 80-100 - Chroma: 11.0 - Grain in all SMH meters around 75.0 Note that in this video I wanted the grain to be less prominent and more subtle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Bro this a movie
okay that's it, I'm buying dehancer.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Dehancer's halation effect isn't it's strongest feature.
This was a great piece of work! Thank you for sharing this. I would be interested to see your process as well!
I will try to emulate it on footages shot on my mobile phone camera.
can you link preset settings ?
Wowwwww
Really good work
Can u share ur workflow or settings used?
Excellent! I actually like the look of the sigma 17-50mm better here. Works great with that film look. Nice grading.

Hi, all was done in post with the Dehancer Plugin.
@@Lukascope_film crazy, thanks for the quick reply!
How on earth were you able to get your film grain to show so beautifully on UA-cam? grain always translates to a blurry mess whenever I upload!

This video is incredible. Definitely pro music video vibes.
Hey, was it shot on RAW?
Hi, no everything was shot in ProRes HQ Ultra HD.
What Kind of Film? Kodak 250
Kodak Vision3 500T
you have to release the powergrade for this.
Hey nice footage! What film grain settings would you recommend using for results like these?
