  • Sushi is one of my favorite foods and today I tried Sushiro conveyor belt sushi. Yes, $1 sushi in Bangkok. Join me as I sample as many dishes from this sushi conveyor belt restaurant as I can fit into my stomach. I explain how a conveyor belt sushi restaurant works, show you the menu and of course eat sushi! There are so many choices here, well over 100 items to choose from. Conveyor belt sushi is one of my favorites as I just love being able to see all the different items go by, and picking what I like. I proceed to stuff my face with a variety of delicious sushi. As I sample each one, I give you my honest opinion of the taste and quality of the sushi. Is Sushiro the best sushi conveyor belt Sushi restaurant? Watch and decide for yourself.

      Another great video, I enjoyed by Life with Serg. I really would like to travel throughout the Continent of Asia (especially Thailand) 🌏 . However, what bothers me is the plethora of Seafood/Shellfish. Which I'm VERY allergic to🚫🍣🍤🦐🦞🦀😳.
      Being a Woman (in my mid 40s), my Mom tried so hard to make my body adjust to seafood. Tuna sandwiches, Salmon Croquettes (I think I spelled that right), Sardines and even a "desperate move" every Monday, for 4 years, allergy shots to force me to accept Seafood/Shellfish: Ouch!
      Each time, my body reacted and an intervention was required (Epipen, Steroids). I really thought I was finally adjusting, until a neighbor started cooking some fish (a few months ago). The smell of it gave me a reaction. The fear is travel ending.........🥺😢

    I went to 6 different sushi places when I was in Bangkok a couple months ago and sushiro was by far the best quality for the price! Everything we tried was super fresh and tasted amazing. Yes there are lower prices elsewhere, but chances are it won’t be as good, and this place is still 25% the cost of comparable quality sushi in the US.

      On Google maps typing uyghurs restaurant bangkok 4 hits , typing xinjiang restaurant bkk has more hits , if on the walls of the restaurant they have a sigm showing their faith, there is more chance the food is authentic.

    You're right about the importance of the rice. In fact, sushi refers to the rice, not the fish or any other ingredient for that matter. Per the interweb, "the word sushi is a contraction of the words su, which means "vinegar" and meshi, which means "rice."

    I wish we could get these in every major city in the US. One or two in England, too, would be fantastic. There's a couple good sushi places near me but it's so expensive and they tend to Americanize everything, far too much. I don't mind them expanding menus to fit American tastes but give us authentic choices too, ya know? One place near me only uses steamed white rice for their sushi. They don't put the rice vinegar mix in it. Another place uses too much. And any time I get eel (unagi) it's BARELY even a bite. And they use the same sushi pieces for their unagi don too. For the price we may as well order 8pc unagi nigiri with extra rice. Get the same thing either way. I would die for a real Unagi don, with a nice big piece of eel.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  8 місяців тому

      The type and quality of rice is almost more important than the fish, in my opinion. To be honest sushiro isn’t that great. See if there is a Kura sushi near you. It’s decent.

    • @NadoriKaija
      @NadoriKaija 8 місяців тому

      @@LifewithSerg There isn't. I have to drive a half hour to anywhere half decent. We have Izumi and Mizu in the next state over, an hour south we have Sushi Bomb, and a half hour in-state we have a small place called Katana, which serves Japanese and Chinese both. Katana is really good. Their udon and tempura is the best. They're also the one that serves Unagi don. Their sushi is great, but not a lot of variety. Mizu is my go-to for Sushi, considering distance. They don't offer Inari, but their variety and quality are extremely satisfying, just expensive. I get one order of Agedashi Tofu for appetizer and one roll, hot green tea, and that's it. My husband gets something similar with one app, one roll, same drink. Easily $75. Izumi is slightly better-priced, sushi is almost on-par with Izumi with some different options. They have Inari, but depending on who's in the kitchen that day, it can be made differently. First time they made it right, with the rice inside the tofu pouch. The next time, they had made it into nigiri with a sliver of the inari on top of the rice. Even the chefs aren't up to par on simple inari. I made it myself at home, and it was really good, but finding the inari is difficult, and it's expensive. The canned inari, especially, is strong of flavor and sometimes too much. We don't have supplies to make it at home from scratch.
      But I'm moving to England this year so none of that will matter much now anyway. From what I hear, good sushi places are hard to find around where I'm going. And it would be too much to travel to London to see if what they have is any good.

    Chopsticks need some practice for your muscle memory to get used to it. So try to use it more on sushi and noodles. But first to need to make sure you hold it correctly, after a few months you will love chopsticks. It's a lot easier on some kind of food.

I normally would only eat 8 to 10 plates, but I wanted to show more to my viewers and that’s why I ate 15 plates. I could’ve easily gone to one of my favorite sushi places here and had a smaller size lunch, of much higher quality, for about 1/2 to 2/3 of what I paid. But I like variety once in a while.

    Some tips for eating nigiri. You can eat with your hands instead of chopsticks. You don’t mix wasabi into the soy. Great sushi doesn’t really need soy, but if you do use it DON’T dip the rice directly into the soy- it will cause the rice to fall apart. Dip the fish directly into the soy- less is better. You’re correct about the rice (sushi means rice)- the texture of the rice is critically important, how the vinegar is fanned into the rice and the right amount of sugar.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  Рік тому +15

      I’ve been using chopsticks for over 30 years, so I’m quite adept at them. And yes, it is perfectly normal to eat nigiri with your hands. I also know that you’re not supposed to dip the rice into the soy sauce and that you’re not supposed to mix the wasabi into the soy sauce. A proper sushi establishment will put wasabi between the rice and the piece of fish, on nigiri sushi. However, this is the way I prefer to eat it. We all have different methods of doing things. There is almost never a circumstance in which one way is the only way to accomplish something.

      THANK YOU because when someone is schooling us on what to eat, how it looks, how to order, etc., you expect that they will lead by example. I kinda knew because a Bagel Roll is very well known in the US (salmon and cream cheese) and corn with cheese is very well known among those who enjoy Korean food. I also guessed he never heard of Futomaki and how to eat oversize rolls. (You take a bite and squeeze the remaining piece together before biting into it again.) Then again, I'm NO expert - I have a lot to learn.

    • @anna8282
      @anna8282 Рік тому +4

      You mix wasabi into the soy if you want to, and that's also how I prefer it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ (And I've seen plenty of Japanese people do it too)
      I also dip the rice part, a quick light dip of the front-ish part, no need to drown it and it won't have time to fall apart during the second it takes to lift it to the mouth. Twisting and turning to dip the fish part is awkward and unnecessary imo.
      Eating with the hands is a no no for me but that's again a matter of personal preference. During a pandemic people could think about hygiene tho.
      Some people like policing how and what other people eat but I say we don't exist for food, food exists for us. Food is meant to be enjoyed and all of us 8 billion people on this planet do not have the same preferences.
