When I can afford it, I eat sushi whenever I can! I visited Japan and my host family was surprised I requested sushi and they took me to their favorite sushi restaurant. When I was in China Town in San Francisco 2006, there was a restaurant that had this system. I loved it! You had to grab your food from the belt when it came by, it had your name or number on it, can't remember which. Been a while. =) It was fun since we had our teen kids with us to experience this new way of getting your food.

I was stationed in Atsugi Japan from 2010 to 2012 and we had an awesome resturaunt like this near the base. It was called Sushi GoRound and it was delicious. The rules were more relaxed than even this as the conveyor belt always had a wide variety of sushi that would go around and you could just grab a plate and eat. When you were done eating, they'd count all of your plates (the price changed for each color of plate with white being the cheapest) and give you your total. The sum was always less than I thought it would be and the sushi was always fresh and tasty.
It sucks that some people choose to behave poorly and ruin a good thing for others. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane.

I live in the UK and I'm pleased that the supermarkets now feature special Sushi stalls inside the store where they sell usually Yo! Sushi or something similar. This is at least better than the pre-packaged stuff as it's made fresh and they have things like Wakame seaweed salad.

Yeah even in our country (Italy 🇮🇹) we had some sushi stalls where they make directly there the sushi.
And everything they made is made directly by actual Japanese who went to live in Italy and makes perfect sushi.
Of course they cost around less than €10 (1.481 🇯🇵, 10,95 🇺🇸) for every single of sushi package. They in rare occasions makes some bentos.
I get even to taste even fresh Mochi’s in like: Cheesecake lemon, White chocolate with raspberry and default Chocolate. And even an Mango mochi.
I get to eat them every once at week.

It terrible to know that there is some people that have nothing else better to do but to try and make everyone else’s life, work, or other things that are most enjoyable to others. Just because they might live a miserable life or just constantly feel miserable that they feel that everyone else should feel the same way they do very sad. Living in America it is so hard to find really good sushi especially at a reasonable price. I would love to have a sushi roll here I think it would be so awesome. Though that was almost 30 yrs ago, it has shaped my preference for Sushi. I absolutely cannot accept those modern Sushi especially those in modern Japanese restaurants in California USA. I still enjoy traditional Sushi like Tekka Maki, Nigiri Sushi and must come with speck of Wasabi in them😂

I love it because you can always eat the exact amount you want, and you'll never order too much or too little. I am old. I love sushi and sashimi, I have found from my experience, rice can make or break your sushi. as important as the fish, so is the rice. I’ve had sushi from coastal Coast, and from border to border I’ve only had the rice perfect a handful of times in my travels. The very best was a place in Kentucky or Tennessee. It will take me a while to remember where. The master came from Japan via New York. He came to a little town in Kentucky/Tennessee because of love. The man has done nothing else, his entire life, and he was not a young man.
The rice was soft and tender and sweet, but it was not packed so hard, but hard enough that stayed together. Any fish I ordered went beautifully with the rice. Usually I only eat a little of the sushi rice is nothing but a hard ball or there’s no flavor or the flavor is bad. You know exactly what you’re gonna get in the grocery store preassembled packages. I found out that usually they don’t even make the rice. It comes prepackaged. But not all cases.

I found this video really useful. I'd love to take my husband to a conveyor belt sushi place that is actually recommended by a Japanese person who KNOWS their sushi. A terrible first experience will really taint my view of sushi as I'll assume that's what it's supposed to be like, not knowing any better. A great first Japanese sushi experience is what I'm going for next time round. I'd love to go to a high end sushi place but they're just too hard to book a reservation for without doing it quite a way in advance. Mid-range conveyor belt is what I'll be aiming for. Thank you so much for showing me a decent place to try so we can feel confident and excited about it.

We have a chain restaurant in the US called "Kura Sushi". This is a conveyor style sushi restaurant. Each plate varies by physical location, but the ones around me are a little over $3 per plate (which is about 438 yen). The menu is also quite large.

You just make hungry for sushi and the only time I had sushi is when a friend of mine gave me a crab roll and that was very yummy.

Thank you for sharing! I first tried sushi in the US and enjoyed it when I visited Japan on business. I had Uni in the US and it was terrible. I tried it again in Japan and it was delicious. Tuna and Ika (Squid) are my favorites by far!

I watched Japanese news that Uni(sea urchin) is getting so popular with foreign tourists now. They apparently learned that sea urchins they eat in their countries and in Japan were different.

    Thks & I'm going-out for real japanese food tomorrow;
It's quite amazing how japanese maintain their unique culture but has become international citizens.
For example japanese kinda understand regular US americans (but most other countries are still clueness especially those western europeans ;).

I'm from the UK and can agree on Tesco sushi :D
I'll come to Japan and taste the real thing soon, thanks for this excellent video. It might seem strange but for foreign visitors it might be a bit odd to try to order real sushi for the first time. :D

I live in a place that is landlocked, and fresh seafood is hard to get, even though food can be shipped quickly. I hope that one day I can travel and try proper sushi.

Canada has real sushi restaurants, they may have less selection as this restaurant, but it is very good. Miso soup is my favourite, and steamed custard buns 🥰🥰.

Thank you for the video and sharing your dining experience! I love sushi more than ramen and could eat it everyday. My favorite is the Jimmy Smith roll, which is a popular roll of sushi here in Florida. I often make sushi at home using recipes from a number of Japanese sushi chefs. Mine's not perfect, but it as much fun to make as it is to eat. I love Sushiro, and I've not even been there to eat at the restaurant. The express tracks are fun to watch and are a truly novel idea. Bravo! Sushiro!!! I'd love for them to come here and open a restaurant. Thank you again! 😊💖🙏

In Australia, we place clear plastic lids over the plates to avoid hygiene issues and prevent people touching the food. The train also passes under an ultraviolet light to kill bacteria. We have a popular chain called Sushi Train.

Sushi is affordable here in Japan. So you can eat a lot and too much😋
Then you'll realize that you end up spending more amount of money than you could spend back in your country.
