It's from a poem by Ingeborg Bachmann, "An die Sonne" (1991). I couldn't find this rendition, though. It was probably produced as trailer music.
Gerhard Richter makes the viewer work; Kiefer takes the easy way out, artistically, in resorting to spectacle. Wenders had to get bums in seats because of the demands of the industry he's in, and no amount of Kubrick/Antonioni visual elan can disguise the cheapness of this effort, also featuring manipulative screentrack music masquerading as 'art', which this whole film is not, on any level.
Criterion Channel made the deal for an exclusive premier, but knowing how Criterion is of late, it’ll be streaming on most platforms soon-ish. That being said - Criterion Channel is a better investment than most platforms at the moment, so it’s something worth considering.
"The whole of society was silent back then, they all failed to grasp the unimaginable." -- Very timely documentary
From ost Anselm
And the phrase never again rings so hollow now in so many ways all over the world.
Very excited!! Two of my heroes!
I just saw this last night. Amazing. I highly recommend it.
A new film from Wim Wenders? I'm all in. :)

@@herrarmel62 Thanks!
Wim Wenders hat sich die Zähne ausgebissen an Kiefers destruktiver Kunst ...
Brilliant. So grateful I was able to see it--and be part of this amazing other world.

What is the song or songs used in this dazzling trailer?
Anyone knows the opera song please? It's gorgeous and I can't ID it. Please throw me a bone if you read this and know what song it is. Thank you.

Leonard Küßner is the composer :)
It’s available on the official soundtrack (An die Sonne was written for Anselm).

I can't find a way to view it, I'm not sure why they would even waste the money marketing it in a country where you can't even see it.

I am not sure where you are located, but in the US, it is available to stream or to purchase as a dvd on the amazon website.
"the human race" is an unfortunate mistranslation
what would be a better translation from the german?
Willms Canyon
Literal trash. What would modern be without infinite money and institutional support? Literal trash.
I'm glad someone else sees through this. Corporatism eats itself by the tail here.
Another proof art is declining
The 20th century murdered art, and the 21st century doesn't give a damn.
